Back from my holiday and in the TWW. BFN or AF due a week today - 18th. A day after DH birthday! Didn't track O this month as was away, so hoping we DTD enough / at the right time. Getting twinges / feelings exactly the same as I normally do a week before AF though so not feeling too positive :(

You have to look up what ccg you fall in then look up that area in the table. That is what IVF they offer. Makes for depressing reading tbh. Post code lottery at it's finest.

@Kiza so I've just looked into it further. Each nhs district (ccg) can make their own decision regardless of nice guidelines. I would have to move house quite a way to get to two years and some areas offer no help for people at all which is shocking. I will try post the link where I found this info tonight. Looks like I gotta keep Hoping and trying our best to be healthy and get that bfp naturally.

@orangeloo here you go, you're correct it's still 2 years. This is the 2019 nice guidelines fertility pathway so quote this with your GP

@orangeloo when I read the nice guidelines a couple of months ago I'm pretty sure it said 1 year?

Hi ladies, happy Friday. Hope you are all well. I had a docs appointment this morning to ask for referral to fertility specialist. GP advises criteria changed last year and it's now THREE YEARS for referral!! WTAF that is insane!! I said I'm still having my spotting problem so I'm being referred to gynae clinic for further investigations which I'm now hoping throws up some answers or I get preggers naturally anyway. I've looked online and the nhs website says 2 years. Where did my gp get three from? Had anyone else ever heard this? I will challenge it again next visit. She said 95% of healthy couples would get pregnant in four years!? I hope she's got it wrong as this is seriously heartbreaking for many people. I'd be 35 then and even less fertile. This is another nhs cut and a very painful one. Sorry for the long post.

@Lozzlepop basically I got ill around ovulation so it was delayed and I didn’t ovulate until CD38. I thought I had ovulated earlier so we weren’t DTD when ovulation actually happened later in the cycle. So frustrating to lose 2 months of trying.

Hello everyone. I’ve been quite silent for a bit as my last cycle was 57 days instead of the usual 32 and I ovulated really late so we weren’t even DTD so there was no hope. I got quite upset coz the long cycle had me thinking I could be pregnant. Also a close friend told me they were pregnant after 2 months trying.

Anyway I ovulated a few days ago on cycle 4 so now 3 days into the TWW. We have done SMEP but we ended up with 4 days DTD in a row which was quite a slog.

Popped back in to see how everyone is doing and I believe congratulations is in order @Larrydavid

Not going to lie, the anxiety doesn't ease off, I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and still constantly worrying after the early MC before. But it's quite natural to worry and second guess everything I've been reassured a number of times by the lovely ladies on the pregnancy board. It didn't feel real until the doctor referred to after having the baby today!

I hope everyone else is doing ok, I'm still here cheering you on and crossing everything

@Lozzlepop you could phone the GP and ask which clinic they referred you to then get the contact details off the Internet. I only knew our clinic as there were 3 so we were given a choice of which we preferred.

@orangeloo I've had intermittent spotting before AF quite a few time. Sometimes it's for a couple of days sometimes up to 10 days, I think sometimes it can be common but you know your body best and if you have the feeling that it could be something more than just regular spotting then maybe look into it a bit more? I don't know if there's foods/supps you could take that increase progesterone?

@Lozzlepop japan was so great - I could live there! I'm really tired but that could be the jetlag. Only other symptoms are slightly sore boobs, heartburn and mild cramps. The heartburn is what made me test as I don't usually get it. Fingers crossed you get some answers this year 💛

In spite of our month off, DH is due home tomorrow and I had a positive opk today.

Might as well have a shag tomorrow and see if anything comes of it. 🤞😂

@Makeafamily19 speak to your GP they can run a simple blood test. I suspected low progesterone and have had the day 21/progesterone test twice and both were normal so not conclusive in my case but it may put your mind at rest.

Thank you @Lozzlepop , I hope you get some answers soon, from what I've read on the thread you have been through a lot it seems.

@Kiza the only problem is I dont have any details for the clinic, they didn't tell me anything so I am just guessing that it is based at the hospital with the maternity unit but thats a guess. Think I will leave it until week 7 as then I should have hopefully heard something dont want to annoy them buy calling too soon.

@Larrydavid how are you feeling, any symptoms? How is Japan? I have everything crossed for you ❤️yes I am hoping that we will have answers this side of xmas so can start afresh next year.

@orangeloo I think for some ladies spotting before AF is completely normal, I actually had it for the first time this cycle just monitor and if its worrying deffo bring it up again with the doctor. I totally get where you are coming from I really hope the tests give some answers for us both!

Hi all, joined this thread a while back but not really posted just watching.

@orangeloo I also have spotting 5 days before AF, started yesterday and not due till Saturday. Guessing it means I'm out this month. This is only my 4th cycle but like you I keep thinking maybe this is an issue as I am sure it means low progesterone. I have been temping this month and my temp was still high yesterday but has dipped below coverline this morning. I really don't want to wait till 12 months if this could be an issue but not much I can do by the looks of it.
My period is only 1-2 days and then I spot again.

@Lozzlepop @Kiza LP is regular and 13-14 days but I spot consistently a week before period every cycle? As my luteal phase is okay I'm not sure if spotting counts as a luteal phase defect or not. I suppose now I'm nearing a year all will be looked into in due course anyway. It would just be annoying if they found that was the reason and it was something easily solved I could have been pregnant ages ago.

@larrydavid glad your line has gotten stronger:) i am doing well thanks 6+2 and not nauseous.....yet! When you are ready join the due in june 2020 pregnancy thread :)

Not really sunk in. I don't want to get too excited - feeling happy though! I took another test this morning and the line is strong which is a relief!

@Lozzlepop that makes sense that you're not allowed to try. If you want certainty that your referral has been placed you could call the fertility clinic to see if they have received your referral? (That's what I did and was told they hadn't so phoned the GP back and he apologised he hadn't sent it off yet).
@orangeloo we got the ball rolling after 11 months after a friend advised to tell a little fib and say it had been 12 months of trying due to wait times. Is your LP regular? If not and you have spotting I've read about LP defects that can be overlooked in the NHS.
