To ovusense or not?

We have been told we have no fertiity issues so have been sent home to loose weight and try naturally

I have irregular periods and when they do come they can last longer than 7 days.

I'm wondering whether to try ovusense or not? 🤔🤔

Any reviews good and bad?

Thanks Smile

Because mine had said I ovulated and stop using i did after a while

  1. because i started a new job and was so tired from it i was falling into bed
  2. i didn't want to get my head stuck in it when it said stop after a while.

Now i wished i had stayed doing it because even though it said i had ovulated i feel like this is prime time!

Oh the joys of irregular cycles!!! 😞

I totally understand what you mean, it's hard to be relaxed about it when you are not entirely sure when you will ovulate and therefore it has to be timed right, it's not just a case of have sex anytime and get pregnant (I defo thought this was the case until we started trying!!)

So I usually check when I've been to the toilet, check the tissue and when EWCM is there you can see it on the tissue, it's sort of shiny and stretchy.

Do you check the position of your cervix? I do that also, so when checking I would have a little feel around and then check what CM is on my finger (defo TMI sorry!!). I am only just learning about cervix position and it being open closed etc. There's so much to it!!x

ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia · 11/09/2019 12:07

Yeah I have done before but didn’t last cycle as like you say it does take over your life and was just trying to have a ‘relaxed/if it happens it happens’ cycle.. put that’s pretty impossible with such irregular cycles!
How do you track your EWCM? I don’t notice CM being different apart from at the end of my cycle when it’s thicker and creamy (sorry TMI). I don’t know whether I don’t get much or I just don’t know what I’m looking for. Xx

SunnySunshine1990 · 11/09/2019 11:57

Mine are stupidly long, between 30 and 55 days. I usually start around CD20 but because I had EWCM so early this time around CD16 I started doing them from then, they take over your life though ha!! Do you use them?xx

ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia · 11/09/2019 11:51

@SunnySunshine1990 how long are your cycles normally? At what point do you start OPK’ing? Xx

SunnySunshine1990 · 11/09/2019 10:14

Yeah it seems that way, I had nothing until today, maybe it's just cos it's my first cycle :s I would defo recommend using the OPKs alongside this now as the window could easily be missed xx

ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia · 11/09/2019 10:06

That is weird. Maybe your egg was released really quickly and hopefully it does tally up?
Does it only tell you ovulated once your ovulated?
Xx

SunnySunshine1990 · 11/09/2019 09:00

So my chart is now saying I ovulated CD20, my peak OPK was that day though so it doesn't make sense :s x

@ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia I wasn't going to but I was getting EWCM for days and there was no difference with my temps so I ended up buying some and double checking so I'm glad I did cos by the looks of my chart I wouldn't have known I was close to ovulation without the OPK xx

ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia · 10/09/2019 12:54

@SunnySunshine1990 oh that’s cool. Would you recommend to carry on OPKing for the first cycle whilst it’s still collecting data? X

SunnySunshine1990 · 10/09/2019 12:44

Hiya @ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia its going okay, although it hasn't stated that I have ovulated even though I probably have, I messaged support to double check and they said to keep temping.

I think cos it's my first cycle. I had a really strong OPK on Saturday (CD20) so just waiting for my chart to catch up with itself!xx

Hey ladies. Mind if I join?
My OvuSense is coming today and excited to get going!
How are you all getting on? Xx

smarty14 · 04/09/2019 17:05

Ah fingers crossed they prescribe it for you. I have to get my bmi down before they will prescribe it.

Yeah its meant to help regulate periods. Its medical or anything but doctor recommended it and thought you can't get better than a docs recommendation

Yeah they are sending me for day 21 bloods, partner has to have a sperm analysis done and going back in a few weeks for a follow up and more than likely will be proscribed Clomid. So glad things are finally moving!

I've never heard of infolic, is it used to regulate your cycle?x

smarty14 · 04/09/2019 16:19

At least you have a diagnosis. Did they give you any recommendations?
I wasn't diagnosed with anything but because of irregular periods they recommend i take inofolic. Its quite pricey but defo worth a try for you.

They say it takes upto 3 months for it to make a difference but i think i can see a difference using it already. My boobs hurt today and i think thats part of my ovulation/period on way

X

Yeah I'm on it, it's good looking at other people's charts isn't it?

I went for my first fertility appointment today and they did an internal scan to confirm PCOS, I asked if there are any eggs looking like they are ready to go but they said it wasn't likely, bummer! EWCM for nothing :s xx

smarty14 · 04/09/2019 07:58

I think it told me on the sunday or monday. I can't remember now 🙈
But i think thats normal because its the first time using it

Next month it will hopefully tell me my fertile window.

Are you on the fb support group

Ah that's fab that you have ovulated!! Did the app tell you before hand or a few days later?xx

smarty14 · 03/09/2019 22:39

Hiya @SunnySunshine1990

I have had a confirmation of ovulation which i am so shocked at but was on holiday with family in a caravan 🤭 so that wasn't going to happen! We did when we got back though. Confirmed ovulation on the Thursday dtd sat/sun

I am going to carry on using it though until AF arrives

Not going to lie i love that i have actually ovulated as i never thought i did!

Hey @smarty14 how you getting on? This is my chart, no clue what it all means!!

Had EWCM since Sunday evening so been doing the deed the last few nights but chart isn't really telling me much!

I've ordered some ovulation strips just to double check if I am actually in my fertile window or not, I have never ever ovulated this early though so very confused!

Hope all is well with you x

smarty14 · 27/08/2019 18:13

@SunnySunshine1990 thanks thats if I ovulate at all 🤷🏻‍♀️. X

@EvelineUK yeah there probably is but this is what works for me and i can depend on it. X

OP posts:
EvelineUK · 27/08/2019 15:25

Fingers crossed for you x

SunnySunshine1990 · 27/08/2019 15:25

@smarty14 I have only been able to use it for the past 2 evening as AF was about! So not much to see on my chart, let me know when your ovulation is confirmed :) x

SunnySunshine1990 · 27/08/2019 15:23

Hi @EvelineUK, I understand but after recently being diagnosed with PCOS, having a miscarriage, a chemical pregnancy and trying for over a year I am willing to try anything that will help to successfully conceive.
Taking BBT with a thermometer hasn't worked for me and OPKs have also been difficult so this is one of the most convenient solutions I have found, fingers crossed it works!x

EvelineUK · 27/08/2019 14:42

There are cheaper ways of detecting ovulation... Just saying.
