September bus

Hey, so was a little flakey on August bus because this is so hard, but I like the support and folk with bfps give me hope.

Anyway, I am on cycle is seven now, period due first or second September. But will probably poas end of Aug because I turn into a sucker for punishment the week before.

How are you all doing? Will be happy and sorry to see familiar names back.

I also will disappear for days at a time, which doesn't mean I'm ignoring folk, but finding it too intense.

Love and luck

Would love to hear about this month's lovely distractions

@flossy12 Indeed! I already know I'll be testing far too early as I'm attending two weddings just before AF and unsure how to handle drinking without arising too much suspicion, I'll be sat with a couple that have been TTC for a year so the last thing I want is to give them the impression I've "succeeded" as soon as we tried when it will be too early to tell either way. Probably overthinking things!

flossy12 · 14/08/2019 12:17

@Raizelrea oh good! 😁😁 makes it easier to wait out the TWW when someone else is going through it at the same time! Aww lucky lady then your friend!

It's DTD night tonight before I go to work 😅😅 determined to stick to SMEP this month, has anyone tried it?

@Coastaldreamer I'm a big planner when it comes to things 😅 always thinking 'what if' and thinking of future effects it will have 😂 think I drive OH mad, even if we catch this time the baby would be around 9 weeks when it came to me jetting off for 2 nights

@GloriaMaximus Welcome sweetie ☺️ hope everything goes well for you!

Welcome as well @embaby 😊

@Lu1u I use Flo, Ovia and now Glow so I can log my OPK tests 😅 Cm all get slightly confusing when they all say different things

Raizelrea · 14/08/2019 12:17

@Coastaldreamer Definitely can't hurt to have more insight! For now I've figured that there's a pattern to my irregularity as if you only look at every other month it's actually pretty regular, guess my left side and right side just each like doing their own thing haha! Let me know how you get on with the OPKs!

@Lu1u I use Flo and Glow, I prefer the look of Flo as there's so much going on in Glow it's a bit overwhelming. There's about a 2 day difference in what they predict for me re ovulation and AF but I'm not sure if one is more accurate than the other yet. How is Ovia? And do you prefer it to Flo?

GloriaMaximus · 14/08/2019 11:19

Thanks everyone.

Its all consuming at the moment. I'm worried about not being able to conceive because of my endo. I wish we started as soon as I'd had the lap now but we weren't in the best place 🤷🏻‍♀️

Coastaldreamer · 14/08/2019 11:07

@GloriaMaximus good luck for the appointment and hopefully you can start your ttc journey with no issues 🤞🏼

Lu1u · 14/08/2019 11:00

@gloriamaximus hope your appointment goes well tomorrow so you can get cracking! I did chuckle at the autocorrect fail 😂

Out of interest what apps are people using? I have Flo but just had a look at Ovia which is quite different. I think Ovia is predicted my ovulation a day later than Flo. I don't use OPKs but maybe I will after this cycle to get a better idea of what's going on.

We were supposed to be doing the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) but my partner is away on my predicted Ovulation day so that's put a stop to that this cycle

embaby · 14/08/2019 10:27

Hi guys I'm hopping on the bus.

Age 29
Cycle 3? 4? Lost count
Cd 2
AF due 15th sept
Ttc #2

GloriaMaximus · 14/08/2019 10:25

I haven't had a persons..period. But yno they kinda coincided at a similar time 😅

GloriaMaximus · 14/08/2019 10:24

Can I join please? 🥺

I had a laparoscopy a couple of months ago to treat endo. All being well (seeing surgeon tomorrow) my coil will be removed Friday and we can finally stay TTC. It will be DC2 for me but DC1 for DH. This is a little secret for now between us and I know I'm driving him mad talking about everything so it'll be nice to speak to others too - probably more for his mental state than my own 🙈

I haven't had a persons for almost 8 years so I have no idea what my cycles will be like. I do have hormonal acne and right now my skin is perfectly clear but I don't know what correlation that is to my cycle.

I don't understand all of the acronyms so please bare with me.

Good luck everyone!!

Coastaldreamer · 14/08/2019 09:23

@flossy12 ah! Didn't even think about next year dates yet, best friend getting married next year. Hopefully I'm pg and still make it to her hen !

@Raizelrea know how you feel on the irregular cycles, that's why hoping OPKs will help. Last month we dtd every other day from CD10 to 22 to cover all bases so I thought it would happen but wasn't meant to be. Eagerly awaiting my conceive plus!

Been for my bloods this morning and now gonna phone the GP for follow up appointment.

Raizelrea · 14/08/2019 08:26

@flossy12 It was pretty light yesterday so hopefully should go away today. Ah, cycle buddies, yay! I do find it fascinating how everyone is different, one of my friends is expecting and she knew instantly when her period did not arrive on the dot on the exact predicted day (she was on hols so could not test straight away). When she told our friend group we all just stared at her in awe that she has such regular cycles haha!

flossy12 · 14/08/2019 07:59

@Raizelrea aha! Don't worry about it 😅 the first 2 were 34 days but previous cycle was 32 days so very similar to you! Are you still being pestered by AF?

Raizelrea · 14/08/2019 07:24

@flossy12 My cycles can be anywhere between 28 and 32 days. I've been tracking cycle lengths since January and I've recently noticed I seem to alternate between slightly longer and slightly shorter, so every other month it's either 28-29 or 31-32. Not sure if it's just a coincidence though! If it is the case this cycle should be the "shorter" one so I'm expecting it to be 28-29 days.

Sorry that's a very long-winded answer to a simple question! What about you, how long are your cycles?

flossy12 · 13/08/2019 23:00

@Coastaldreamer thank you sweetie!! I'm determined to do it at all the right times this month! As I have a hen do next year I've paid £309 for and if I don't catch now I'll have to leave it a month or so before trying again or I'd be too pregnant to fly 😅

flossy12 · 13/08/2019 22:59

@Blossomingflower94 haha I actually thought this the other day!! Luckily my shifts fall so that I have my 3 ovulation days off work! Hope I ovulate in time now 😅😅

@Raizelrea aww yay!! Ahh I see my AF has completely vanished today, guess I'm lucky it only lasts around 5/6 days in total as only brown spotting yesterday, how long are your cycles then? If I haven't already asked 😅

HayleyD84 · 13/08/2019 21:51

@Chaosonthehorizon

I've been using OPKs a while now and this is what I've learned:

They are best to be done on your second urine of the day (not your fmi) as the fmi can distort the results.

Best to do 2 tests a day, I usually do mine around 11am-12pm then 8-9pm on evening.

Start testing from CD10.

If you are using the cheapy ones (which is best as it can get way too expensive) however they can be a little confusing. Mine have never been the same thickness or darker and I know I ovulated as ive had blood tests. So you're left wondering, am I ovulating or not?

So what I do is I use the cheapy ones from CD10 twice a day, then when it looks dark enough or close enough I use a clear blue opk, then if I get a smiley face it just confirms that I am ovulating.

If I don't get a smiley face I keep using some more clear blues until I get a smiley.

This way I'm only using 1 or 2, max 3 clear blues to keep the cost down. And I buy clear blue in bulk on the internet, 20 for £20

Sorry for the long message, hope you get on ok with them XXX

HayleyD84 · 13/08/2019 21:40

@Coastaldreamer CD10 is fine to start it, you'll only be missing one BD on cd8, I'd go for it 👍🏼

I was putting pre-seed in and DTD strait away 🙈 not realising you are supposed to keep it in for 10-15 mins before you BD.

Good luck with your bloods x

Raizelrea · 13/08/2019 21:35

@Coastaldreamer Thank you! Yeah sadly I'm quite UTI prone so I alwaysneed to be careful! Gool luck to you too, I hope it's your month this month! ☀️

@Chaosonthehorizon At least you will find out soon with the OPK, personally I haven't had any experience with them yet so I can't really help in that regard, my plan of action is just frequent DTD this month.

Coastaldreamer · 13/08/2019 21:09

@Blossomingflower94 ah ok! Good luck on your journey, hope you get your BFP as soon as possible 💛

Blossomingflower94 · 13/08/2019 20:32

@Coastaldreamer I'm right at the beginning of my TTC journey, came off the pill months ago in preparation and have been using condoms since. Currently CD 5 of cycle 1.

@Chaosonthehorizon thanks for the info :) I'm using OPK's for the first time this month and hope to get a bit more of an insight into my cycle.

Chaosonthehorizon · 13/08/2019 20:24

blossomingflower94 pretty sure the first two were conceived then. raizelrea god hope not! My
Period tracker app seems to think I will but flo and Ovia don’t. Not sure why PT does!! Can anyone help with the OPK’s? Do you all dtd all month?

Coastaldreamer · 13/08/2019 20:07

@Raizelrea oh really. I'm kinda excited for it to arrive and start OPKing as just feels like I'm being more proactive than the last 7 months 🤷🏽‍♀️ best of luck from Friday!! The UTI issue sounds annoying

@flossy12 hope your dtd timing goes well 🤞🏼

@Blossomingflower94 thank you. Where in your ttc journey are you?

X

Raizelrea · 13/08/2019 19:48

@flossy12 I'm also on CD6! Though it will probably not be till Friday that we're doing any business as my periods are annoyingly long and I tend to get UTI issues if I jump into things too quickly after AF.

@Chaosonthehorizon My mom just recently told me about someone who ovulated during their period, so it is possible! Hopefully you'll get to the bottom of what the right time for you is!

Blossomingflower94 · 13/08/2019 19:36

@flossy12 I know the feeling! I work 2 days 2 nights on opposite shifts to my DP ... feel like I need to book annual leave to DTD Hmm.

@Coastaldreamer Hope the bloods come back good for you.

I'm going to attempt SMEP this month too - Waiting for my OPK's to arrive from amazon. They're meant to arrive on CD6 so that's handy!

@Chaosonthehorizon what makes you think you ovulate right after your period? I'm always curious as I've never tried to analyse my symptoms.

Chaosonthehorizon · 13/08/2019 18:01

Starting opk’s properly for the first time, any tips anyone? Think I ovulate right at the end of my period. CD3 today. Really hoped we had managed it this month but sadly not
