Hello ladies,
I know there are already couple of threads open for aug, but thought would be nice to share the experience with anyone who's due similar time to myself.

AF due 17th Aug
I'm 30 years old
TTC cycle 2
CD 14 (of a average 25/26 day cycles)
I got positive OPK CD 11 through to CD13
We BD CD11 & CD 13
Been taking preconception vitamins & preseed

Convinced myself last cycle was the one by taking every twinge and symptoms as a positive.
This 2ww can drive you crazyConfusedHoping not to look into symptoms too much this time.
Anyone else out there just starting their TWW?
Hope to keep each other sane during this time.

Thanks! I am in an utter state of shock. Rang DP as he is away and I just blurted it out when he had literally just woken up. Poor guy! Crazy shock for us both. Don't know how I am not going to tell anyone/do anything as my brain is frazzled with all this.

I think I'm 11dpo. I had a +ve OPK on the Friday about 11pm, so really late and then my temp rise didn't happen until Tuesday so 11dpo is guessing that I ovulated on the Sunday.

Fx for you all!

NavyBerry · 15/08/2019 07:07

@Greenwhale ahhhhh! Congratulations!!!! What a great beginning of the day!!!ThanksThanksThanks
What is your dpo?

Greenwhale · 15/08/2019 06:53

Temp rose this morning and AF hadn't fully appeared from spotting do I took this...

AF/BFP due 17th July
Nova324 · 14/08/2019 14:06

@SMiles14 Im the opposite.. i was fine last week but the closer it gets the more I wanna do it! lol

Thats another thing i dont really have any symptoms of anything either.. just a sore back on and off and today I've got some more CM. so still pretty sure I'm gonna get AF and not BFP but doesn't stop you from thinking.. maybe.. never know!! haha this TTC journey is pure madness! lol

Nova324 · 14/08/2019 13:56

thanks @greenwhale I understand what you mean! this is my first proper TWW so its really getting me lol.

I only have cheapy tests and dont really want to fork out too much money on the more expensive ones just yet.. as Im sure I'd be even more disappointed getting a BFN on one of those. and wouldn't be able to upkeep with just those ones!

also just in 2 minds because if I dont and AF shows up I wont have got to test at all this month.. and they are looking at me and calling hahaha!

SMiles14 · 14/08/2019 13:56

@Nova324 haha I was soooo tempted to do that too!
Funnily enough I'm doing better now af is closer, it's less time to wait I suppose. I don't have any symptoms now at all really, bit spotty but cramping has gone.

It's such a catch 22, you will only be out out of your misery by poas if it's positive, of negative it could just be too early gaaaa! Then you have to go and buy more!

Greenwhale · 14/08/2019 13:09

@nova324

I feel your POAS urge! I had exactly the same thought on Monday and was staring at my ic OPK wondering if that could satisfy my urge!

Everyone is different in when they want to test I guess so its down to you! I have managed to waste away a lot of time (more than is healthy I thinkHmm) looking at the chance of a BFP earlier than 14 days. Overall I worked out there's not much point unless you get a super sensitive test ie. FRER. Even with FRER they say on the box '6 days early' but that's actually 6 days earlier than your day of a missed period which for the average person/cycle would be day 15po as that's the day after AF was due. The results for 9dpo ie. 6days before really aren't great but they do shoot up after that and seem pretty good. But I guess if you got a BFN you would still have to think it could be too early! Not sure if it's worth the expense and emotional/mental stress!

Fx for everyone!

Nova324 · 14/08/2019 12:33

haha @Greenwhale im struggling so bad! I went home yesterday and did an OPK just to try and satify the want to POAS hahah

I'm in 2 minds about just testing now or waiting.. incase some AF symtoms pop up.. then i'd know it was a no but then at the same time if i POAS I might know as well.. AHHHH lol

Greenwhale · 14/08/2019 10:54

@SMiles14@littledinosaurs@nova324 I'm so impressed with all your will powers! You guys have got this!
(I also did the get out of bed at 5am and pee so I simply couldn't test this morning even if my will power faded and also had a dream about TCC however mine was about me waking up to AF so not so positiveGrin!)

Great to hear a story where you got a BFP so early @NavyBerry! Gives me hope that I am not just simply wasting money if I POAS early! Fx you see something positive tomorrow

NavyBerry · 14/08/2019 10:27

@SMiles14 let's hope it is a longer cycle for me! Just checked and I didn't get a BFP on cd 9 with my DD. It happened much later. My temperature is still quite high. I know nothing about it but checked this morning just out of curiosity

I'm excited to hear success stories 😁 so I really want smb else to test!)) devil's advocate 😅

SMiles14 · 14/08/2019 09:58

I am super proud of myself for not testing this morning! One more day down. Temps are still trending downwards in a worrying fashion but I have had some restless sleeps so trying not to take too much notice.

@NavyBerry I believe that if you O'd late then your overall cycle length will be longer. Each individual woman's luteal phase stays the same each cycle (give or take a couple of days) so if you O'd late then your period will be late - make sense?

There are lots of apps on here I have never heard of! I use Glow and Fertile Friend, Glow does read OPKs and store the photos for you which is handy.

Nova324 · 14/08/2019 09:30

Morning All. I had another dream last night except it was my older sister phoning to say she was PG and having a little girl! then my younger sister was holding a wee baby with really dark hair! (definitely wasnt mine haha)

welcome @littledinosaurs I'm close to you I'm on CD35 and AF should be coming around SAT. for the OPKS I use premom and then just to track everything else Ovia, I've found them both really good cause it helps you to think your actually doing something to help!

aw sorry to hear about the spotting @greenwhale could still be in with a chance tho! could have been implantation or i think some women can still spot and get a BFP! same to you @NavyBerry it isn't over until AF sings!

I woke up with such a bad urge to POAS but resisted by getting up at like half 6 half asleep and just peeing lol

littledinosaurs · 14/08/2019 08:24

Thanks all!! I have been using Clue (for years) and recently natural cycles but temping hasn't really worked for me tbh - just left me frazzled, with a definitely wrong ovulation date and v tired. So will try your suggestions!

I haven't tried the clear blue ones yet either @Greenwhale, just the cheapies.

I'm trying to wait until Saturday to test as don't want to be in a head spin either way at work really. Whether or not I cave is another matter!

Fingers crossed for you all xxx

NavyBerry · 14/08/2019 08:22

@SunnySunshine1990 I will keep testing until I get my af😅 no pocket money this week, just loads and loads of tests 😁

SunnySunshine1990 · 14/08/2019 08:19

Sorry to hear about your bfn @NavyBerry, are you testing again tomorrow?x

NavyBerry · 14/08/2019 07:51

@littledinosaurs oh that's right. These apps don't read opks just predict based on your symptoms

@Greenwhale yes, my cycle is 25-26 days, looks like I just had a late ovulation this time. I confirmed it with opk

Greenwhale · 14/08/2019 07:37

Welcome @littledinosaurs! I only use Flo and clue but neither read opks for you. Think I might get the clear blue ones if nothing happens in the next couple of cycles though as I'm losing faith but it's just so expensive! Are you planning to test tomorrow?

@NavyBerry sorry it's a bfn but it's still super early! I think the chance of AF arriving tomorrow at 9po must surely be very slim though unless you have a really short LP? Is that normal for you?

NavyBerry · 14/08/2019 07:27

@littledinosaurs hi there! Welcome! Hope you won't get your af))) when will you test?

I use Flo and WomanLog Pro. Prefer the last one.

SunnySunshine1990 · 14/08/2019 07:27

Hey @littledinosaurs the app is called premom :) fingers crossed this is your month!xx

littledinosaurs · 14/08/2019 07:24

Hey all - I'm in the same boat as you. Ttc #1, 29, only on cycle 2. AF due tomorrow as I'm on CD 40 and my longest ever has been 41. I have bloody long irregular cycles and it's the worst. BUT I think we dtd a few times around ovulation (accidentally) so crossing everything.

Can I ask - what's the app you're all using that shows your OPK lines??

NavyBerry · 14/08/2019 07:09

8 dpo, af is due tomorrow. Two tests are crystal clear 😕 still waiting

Greenwhale · 14/08/2019 07:04

@NavyBerry I've heard many people having cramps before their BFP so don't lose faith yet!

NavyBerry · 13/08/2019 20:05

I have bad cramps... not sure it is a good sign😕

Greenwhale · 13/08/2019 19:35

@SunnySunshine1990 I have cramps, generally AF type feeling so pretty much sure. Although after my initial dispair I did think I suppose it could be implantation as I'm only 9po but still think it's very unlikely, especially when I have such a short luteal phase. Will see what the next few days hold before wasting my expensive tests though. Poor DP is gutted and blaming himself which is making me also sad Sad - why do they instill into our heads as teenagers that all we need to do is to look at a boy to get pregnant!!!

@NavyBerry good luck for tomorrow!!! Can't wait to hear some positive stories from this thread!

SunnySunshine1990 · 13/08/2019 18:57

Ahh sorry to hear that @Greenwhale do you think you could still be in with a chance at all? You gonna possibly test on Thursday anyway?x
