TLSM - any news? been thinking about you all day.

I hope you don't mind me airing my feelings on here??? Just feel like it's all getting me down and this is the only place I really feel I can moan without people having a go at me! (although feel free to slap me and tell me to get a grip!!! )

CD30 of what feels like a very long first month. Some of you know I had lots and lots of symptoms but I ended up putting them down to cystitus and just having come off the pill. IF I was on the pill still, AF would have arrived yesterday afternoon. Obviously I don't know when to expect mine due to now being off the pill but it's felt like it's been coming for AGES. Last couple of days stronger period pains but no period. Tests all say BFN as expected as I don't feel at all pg anymore, just feel like period due. I was planning on just waiting it out but I've heard of people having months with no AF after the pill, some spending 9 months for cycles to sort themselves out.

I know this is to be expected BUT due to my families history of very early menopause, I'm really worried. I phoned my mum earlier (managed not to cry but was hard - told you AF feelings were here!!! ). Mum added another family member to the list which I didn't know about....her mum (my grandma). My mum confirmed she was 29, grandma was about my age (I'm 31) and my aunty was late 30's/early 40's when they went through it. This all scares me, it really does, I feel so emotional now [slaps self round face!]. My mum said she thought she was pregnant at 29 (desperate not to be as had me and twins and that was enough lol) as had no periods and felt pregnant at times but the Dr finally did a blood test and it showed she'd started the menopause. I'm praying this isn't the case for me but I can't bear the thought of trying for months and months to then find this out Hoping to get appointment with my Dr a week on Thursday (next time they have appointments with her that you can call about day before, i plan on phoning after midnight and using their automatic system - that will guarantee I don't miss out - she's popular )

Anyone out there able to reassure me that things can be done IF this happens to me?

If not, maybe just shout at me to get a grip and stop worrying. My problem is the not knowing. I believe I can have a blood test to check hormone levels and maybe IF I'm getting to that stage or not quite yet, maybe they can give me something or do something without having to ttc for a year first?

I just find it so hard as I'm a childminder and have 2 babies which fill my week so one of them is always here Mon-Fri. One of them started at 7 weeks and was 5 weeks prem so was tiny (now 8 months) and the other started at 8 weeks (now 6 months) - all adds to the getting broody!!! Plus ds (4 and half) is nagging away for a baby 'sister' (but he knows 'the egg will do what the egg wants' ).

Anyway, I feel better for typing this and hope that everything is ok but maybe you could help me through this wait?

I feel like I'm a fraudster as I haven't just MC'd, haven't been trying months and months, I'm just so upset as we waited til 'the right time' to come off the pill and now I wish I'd come off it ages ago

I'm so sorry for moaning yet again, I'm feeling really emotional, think coming off the pill has sent me a bit do-lally

LT xx

Hi Ladies

TLSM - I will cross everything for you.

This whole pregancy thing is so hard. It is an emotional rollercoaster when your ttc and you do not think things could get worse. Then you are blessed the all important BFP. A day later you are back on the roller coaster with a whole new set of worries.

bobbydazzler · 20/08/2007 17:35

Sorry TSLM, it must be horrible, are you still in pain? could you maybe have strained your back some other way? did you try a clearblue Digital? have you had any more bleeding? just cos you are getting faint lines does not mean it is definately ectopic.Lots of people on MN get faint lines at first and all is well. Fingers crossed.

Still nothing when I went to toilet a little while ago, DH has just texted me to ask if I have rejected his lads yet!

I hate this cos really starting to get my hopes up and yet i know i shouldn't but can't help myself, aarghhh.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 20/08/2007 17:21

Feel really as this should be a happy time but its not! all I am doing is letting my mind run away with me thinking the worst I do hope my bud s ok and in the right place

TSLM sorry to hear that your faint lines may not be a good sign. Keeping everything crossed for you that your HCG levels rise and the lines get darker and everything is in the right place.

sweetkitty really sorry to hear that you lost your baby. Good luck TTC again and dealing with the loss.

I am trying not to get my hopes up. I am on day 27 and AF still a no show. I have just been looking back over my last 14 cycles and have discovered that there were 2 when AF turned up on days 28 and 31 respectively but in 9 of the cycles it was either days 26 or 27 and the others were days 24 and 25.

Of course I realise AF could arrive tonight or tomorrow or any day after that. I actually had a dream last night that it arrived and was relieved to discover it hadn't and then anxious again!

I have held off in testing so far and will continue to resist until Thursday (day 30). I am just gonna test then cos that is the day that we are due to see the consultant and don't want to waste their time if a miracle has happened this month.

I don't normally get any symptoms before AF arrives so each time i go to the toilet i am on tenderhooks that I am going to see her again.

I am actually getting annoyed that I am getting my hopes up as it just makes it more disappointing when AF shows.

Anyway enough about me for now!

TheMuppetMuggle · 20/08/2007 14:45

LT - Am working lates tonite boohoo but tomorrow i'll def be getting onto it hehe

SK - (((((((((Hugs)))))))))

TLSM - Hope your results come back good, and in the right place.

looneytune · 20/08/2007 14:39

sweetkitty - families can be crap at times like these, glad you have your friends. Sorry you had to find out at the scan, that's horrible and poor dp!

TLSM - I'm praying really hard that it's not. {{{ hugs }}} to you cyclebuddy, I can't believe how many EP's I've heard about since TTC and looking at MN threads. I hope it's not the case for you but if it is, I'm just glad it was found sooner rather than later. I read a thread recently where someone was treated really bad and my best friend was round yesterday and was upset because her friend just had one and the Dr's kept saying she can't be pg as tests were negative. At least your Dr got you straight off the EPU! I was asked by upsidedowncake to get Dr's advice when I was having bad pains in my side (turned out to be cystitis) and the Dr said you CAN'T have pains from an EP without bleeding. I bet this isn't true! Sorry, my rant about Dr's over!!! . PLEASE PLEASE can yours be ok!!!

sweetkitty · 20/08/2007 13:51

oh TLSM hope hope hope it's in the right place the waiting is the worst part

have you tried a CBD I swear by them no straining to see faint lines and pulling tests apart (we have all been there done that)?

scorpio1 · 20/08/2007 13:35

what a shit thing to happen. i think that i remember others on here have said their bfps were faint with an ep.....i really hope its not and its a little one in the right place, just very small and thats why faint bfps.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 20/08/2007 13:33

Well did another test this morning and another faint BFP but not as faint as yesterday but I have a really back ache on one side its a real stabbing pain went to Doctors was sent to the EPU had another Urine test and they had a faint BFP they have taken blood to test my HG? level and did an internal (nice) she said all looks and feels ok inside but they it could be an ectopic will get the blood test results later today and will need to go in for more in a few days to see if the level is going up. So at the moment am in limbo I so hope all is ok and this is just a stupid back pain but I never had anything like this with Max and with the faint positives its likely it is an ectopic

Thanks looneytune - actually some friends have been great it's just family have been a bit pants. It hit DP when he came for the second scan with me (I don't think he really believes I am pregnant until the scans) we could see something but it was dead he bawled in the car park on the way out it was me comforting him. I feel so lucky to have the DDs though especially as DD2 is only 19 months so still in some ways a baby. It must be awful to go through it with your first and not have other children.

Muppetmuggle - CD9 better get BDing

TheMuppetMuggle · 20/08/2007 12:01

Thanks worked out i'm CD 9

looneytune · 20/08/2007 11:09

It's the first day of your period. So, when mine arrives, that will be CD1.

TheMuppetMuggle · 20/08/2007 10:58

TheMuppetMuggle · 20/08/2007 10:00

Sorry to hear SK - come and enjoy a cuppa with us.

LT - sorry AF on its way, join me on TTC Sept

scorpio1 · 20/08/2007 09:27

TLSM-any news? fingers crossed

looneytune · 20/08/2007 08:33

Sweetkity - of course you can and sorry about your mc I was exactly the same as you, smug about my BFP (before ds), caught straight after coming off the pill, started telling people (wish I hadn't) and then started spotting, week and half waiting on bestrest and then it was obvious one day. Horrible isn't it I decided to wait til 3 months after my ERPC and then I conceived straight away again and it was fine that time. I was lucky that I DID have support though, well, not really from family so much and not from some at work but my friends were great. Support is so important, what's your partner been like? One thing I didn't realise for a short time is that my dh was really suffering too. I thought he was ok as he was supporting me and it was me who had it but one day, he watched a sad advert on the tv and it all came out - really me as he'd never even wanted kids before he met me and he was really nervous when he agreed to us trying.

You'll find great support on MN but you also need some in RL {{{ hugs }}}

libralady · 20/08/2007 08:27

Sorry for your news sweetkitty It must have been difficult. At least you can get some support in the caravan and on MN if you didn't get any in RL.

looneytune sorry af is on it's way

Thelittlesoldiersmummy any news this morning? Have you tested yet? Hope you still have the line and a BFP.

sweetkitty · 20/08/2007 08:21

hi can I come and sit in the caravan for a while just coming to the end of a mc and before the madness of ttc again just need a little quiet time.

I was feeling so smug when I got my bfp end of June I had planned a March baby wanted a March baby got pregnant first month thought thats it I will never have to pee on a stick again but it was not to be. I've had a totally crap time no support through the mc am feeling a bit let down and sorry for myself.

littlesoldiersmummy - any news a line is a line as they say?

looneytune - sorry about the BFN

looneytune · 20/08/2007 07:52

TLSM - thanks for that, very useful. Even with that info which last night confirmed period was on it's way...............

I'm soooooo stupid!!! Just wasted ANOTHER test just because I didn't get my period yesterday. FFS, I KNOW it's coming, I can feel it and everything suggests it's coming BUT because when I was on the pill I would always get it on the Sunday, I decided to test Of course you know the result .

Don't let me test any more!! I just need to wait for it to arrive, after all, this is the first month post pill so I should expect a different cycle!!!

at myself

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 19/08/2007 21:42

I just hope I get some sleep tonight as am really worried the faint line will have gone when I test tomorrow

Thanks chick thats good info to know

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 19/08/2007 18:23

ok this is what I know but am no expert

your CM is cervix mucus this is the liquid you will fill and will sometimes come out on your finger if you examine yourself, this changes through the month as follows:

Before Ovulation (low chance of pregnancy):
The first few days following AF there will be little or no CM present. You will feel dryness

Approaching Ovulation (chance of pregnancy):
The first CM that appears should be moist or sticky and should be white or cream in colour. if you have it on your finger You will only be able to pull your fingers about 1 cm apart before it breaks.

Right around ovulation (high chance of pregnancy):
At this stage, cm resembles egg whites. It is the thinnest, clearest and most abundant at this point in the cycle. if you have some on your finger the the mucus can stretch quite a way (several centimetres) before it breaks (if it breaks at all). ) The amount of this thin mucus will steadily increase until you experience your 'mucus peak'. This is the last day of this period where the chance of conception is high. It is closely tied to ovulation. During this phase, the sperm's survival rate is higher. It can survive in cervical mucus for up to 72 hours, a significantly longer time than during the rest of the cycle.

After Ovulation (low chance of pregnancy):
After ovulation, there is a marked change in CM appearance. It returns to the sticky stage (does not stretch during finger test).

I always check mine and it is such a good way of testing and its free

with your cervix position this is slightly different for each women I for instance can feel mine all the time sometimes its so low its only just at the entrance and other women find it hard even to reach it! but these are the outlines -

Prior to ovulation - during the first half of your cycle, the cervix will feel relatively firm (like touching your nose) and dry to the touch - and the position of the cervix will be low in your vagina (easy to reach). The entrance of the cervix will feel closed.

However, as you approach ovulation, the cervix will become increasingly soft and will increasingly moisten in order to create a more fertile environment for the sperm. The entrance of the cervix will feel open and begin to lift. At the highest point, the cervix may be a bit difficult to reach and the entrance of the cervix will increase in size. The feel of your cervix will be softer - like touching your lip. At this point, you are at your most fertile time.

Following ovulation, the cervix begins to return to a firmer state and the entrance will begin to close. Also, the position of the cervix will again drop and become easy to reach.

Then your are PG your cervix rises up and becomes soft but this sometimes doesn't happen for a few weeks after you become pregnant

Right hope that helps any Q please just ask
