Hi,
I'm on cycle 5 of TTC with first child. I used clear blue advanced ovulation test for the first time last month and have purchased another one to use this month also. I'm on day 7 of this cycle and am planning on starting ovulation testing on day 12 as I ovulated on day 17 last month. I have a pretty regular 27 day cycle (no longer than 29 days).
I know it's still early days but I feel like it's never going to happen. I can't imagine actually getting a positive result. Is anyone else in a similar position and want to be on this journey with me?
Thanks x

@tryingforbabyone I know I couldn't imagine being like that every month either, I have to ban myself from google past 7pm because I'm just constantly googling things, nightmare!! All the people I know that have had babies didn't notice much even the ones that were actively trying so I try not to get too hung up on no symptoms until around 10dpo that's when I start to feel disheartened and research like crazy until AF shows up. I'm like a mad woman sometimes all the things I don't eat or do "just in case" is insane. I never thought I'd be this woman that is TTC crazy on month 5 🤬😡

tryingforbabyone · 07/08/2019 16:39

@littlelisa34 I'm only 1dpo so still really early for me but just feel like I should be noticing something as other people say they do.
Although it's promising that @Samantha11K said she didn't necessarily know.
I'm thinking I'm going to have to be a little more carefree and maybe delete the apps ect but I just feel like when your ttc how can you not constantly be thinking about it. I can't imagine just being like oh let's just see how it goes because I want it so bad! I just naturally do it now.

littlelisa34 · 07/08/2019 16:22

Yeah I envy people that have that attitude to TTC I wish I could just let it all go and just see what happens but because I'm a little older I don't think I have that luxury of doing that unfortunately

Samantha11K · 07/08/2019 16:17

I agree the TWW is horrendous. I found myself planning my life around the possibility that I "might" be pregnant. It's so hard to do but I think you just have to try and forget about it.
My DR told me to delete my apps etc and just have fun, look after myself and have sex regularly.
I hoping that they're right and it will happen the moment I stop thinking about it x

littlelisa34 · 07/08/2019 16:08

@tryingforbabyone I know unless your actively trying I don't think anyone can understand this tww, you'd think after time it would get a little easier to just wait but I swear it gets harder every month.. there's definitely still hope though, how many dpo are you?

Samantha11K · 07/08/2019 16:05

@Izzimai20031998 that's exactly why I never used them in the first place because I didn't want to be like, ok we must go have sex now because I'm ovulating lol.

I didn't really have any symptoms, I just had a very strong feeling. It's nothing specific, I just felt a bit off colour.
I was doing the same, reading online about feeling sick, boobs getting bigger but I didn't notice anything like that so early on.
I'd say the second time around I started to feel really exhausted all the time but that was at about 5 weeks.
It's difficult because it's so similar to period symptoms and when you're TTC you do read into every little thing x

tryingforbabyone · 07/08/2019 16:04

@littlelisa34 yeah that's what I always think which makes the TWW even longer! So I'm massively symptom spotting now but so far nothing I don't think Sad it does also say that you don't necessarily get symptoms until 5-19dpo though so there is still hope!

littlelisa34 · 07/08/2019 15:56

@Izzimai20031998 I use it for both conception and as lubricant if required.. and I might not test early I always try and wait until I'm late I don't even have tests in the house but I do symptom spot a lot!!! I'm 5dpo and other than a pulling sensation in my uterus last night absolutely nothing so far.. but when you look online and you see so many people get symptoms so early on i always just think "that's it I'm out" but I can only wait and see and hope for the best 🤯

Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 15:52

@Samantha11K I'm using clear blue as I like to know when I'm at my peak but not sure if that makes things more regimented and is then having a negative impact.

Did you just know when you were pregnant or did you not have any symptoms and just tested?

Thank you @Izzimai20031998
You're definitely doing the right thing by waiting until you're a few days late. With the first one I tested on the day I was due and then bled a day later so had I not tested, I would have been none the wiser.
With the second time I did wait a good few days late and was over the moon when I saw the BFP, I just assumed that was it and this time would be fine.
I've had some tests and everything seems to be ok, just bad luck I guess.

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and it will happen when the time is right.
I'm tempted to get some OPK just to check I am ovulating but Dr says it's likely I am as periods are very regular.

Wishing you all best of luck x

AlmostLondoner · 07/08/2019 15:33

@Izzimai20031998 yeah I used those cheap ones from Amazon. I also do fertility yoga (free videos on Youtube by YogaYin) and eat healthy (vegan) so I believe that must have helped too

Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 15:31

@AlmostLondoner do you not use ovulation tests?

Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 15:30

@Samantha11K so sorry to hear that 😔 I was on the drop injection for years and the. Went onto the pill for about 4 years. I came off that in December.
My partner and I recently just brought a house and moved in in March so we are in a similar position. We started trying in March but it doesn't seem to be happening for us either! Sad I havn't even got to the stage of taking a test because I try to wait until I'm about 4 days late and don't even get that far!
I'm 1dpo now but feel no different (I know it's still very early) so hoping as time goes on it might be this month!
Try and think positively though next month is another cycle and another opportunity! I know it's so so hard though! Sad

@Izzimai20031998 Fertility friend for temping. I've been temping from February to learn my cycle better. My ovulation is usually around 18-20 day, quite later.

Samantha11K · 07/08/2019 15:20

Hi Ladies,
Do you mind if I jump on?
TTC first baby after coming off mini pill in December last year.
Fell pregnant in Jan and had early MC at 4 weeks. Pregnant again in May and had another early MC at 6 weeks.

Spent the last month or so not even thinking about getting pregnant. Husband and I bought our first house and just moved in a week ago.
AF just arrived and I'm in pieces, don't know why this isn't happening for us 😔
I just assumed that when we'd start trying it would all happen easily. Anyone else been the same?

Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 15:19

@AlmostLondoner which app are you using?

Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 15:18

@AlmostLondoner oh wow that's very lucky. Fingers crossed it's a BFP!

AlmostLondoner · 07/08/2019 15:05

@Izzimai20031998 first cycle trying, have app. 32 days long. 10dpo.

Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 15:00

@AlmostLondoner what cycle are you on?

OP posts:
Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 14:59

@littlelisa34 do you use preseed as a lubricant or just for the sake of helping with conception?

OP posts:
AlmostLondoner · 07/08/2019 14:56

@Izzimai20031998 thank you! I am so nervous, scared and excited at the same time. Scared to test again!

Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 14:54

@littlelisa34 I heard that too but figured there was no point in refusing if we both wanted it as surely there must be some sperm that could fertilise the egg if it's going to! If not then I guess we try again next month a little less regular and just hope that all happen soon! SadSad only 1dpo and feel like I'm wishing my life away waiting and preying for symptoms!

Izzimai20031998 · 07/08/2019 14:50

@AlmostLondoner wow that's exciting and looks good!

littlelisa34 · 07/08/2019 14:14

Hi @AlmostLondoner I can't definitely see a faint line and your symptoms sound good so fat I would wait a few days and maybe take a frer test and that should give you a more readable result hun good luck 😁
@Ginfizz90 that would be the best birthday present ever!!!!😀

AlmostLondoner · 07/08/2019 13:58

@Ginfizz90 good that I am not alone! 😊
