Hi,
I'm on cycle 5 of TTC with first child. I used clear blue advanced ovulation test for the first time last month and have purchased another one to use this month also. I'm on day 7 of this cycle and am planning on starting ovulation testing on day 12 as I ovulated on day 17 last month. I have a pretty regular 27 day cycle (no longer than 29 days).
I know it's still early days but I feel like it's never going to happen. I can't imagine actually getting a positive result. Is anyone else in a similar position and want to be on this journey with me?
Thanks x

@May2311 I know exactly where your coming from Hun feeling negative comes with the territory of TTC.. as hard as it might be try and stay positive because you just never know what's round the corner x

littlelisa34 · 08/08/2019 18:28

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a nice day. I am having one of those days today where even though I am only CD 13 I feel like it isn’t going to be our month. I have no idea why I feel like this as it’s so early in the cycle( I won’t ovulate till next week I don’t think) and it isn’t like we will struggle DTD as we are both on leave from work!! Does anyone else ever feel like that before the TWW has even begun?

littlelisa34 · 08/08/2019 13:18

@AlmostLondoner how are you getting on today? Any new symptoms? 🤪

littlelisa34 · 08/08/2019 13:17

@Samantha11K 😀 I'm glad you feel better today emotions can get the better of us some times but your moving closer to your next fertile window now which is a good thing 🤪

Samantha11K · 08/08/2019 12:58

@tryingforbabyone yeah I'm the same, you feel guilty being upset because it's like you're saying it's their fault too.
Obviously I'm totally not and I'm lucky he has been so understanding and laid back about it. He helps keep me grounded!

@littlelisa34 it is so much easier said than done. I annoy myself because with anything else, I'm a really chilled person but TTC turned me into a mental woman 😂

I feel a lot better about things today and have a clearer head than yesterday. Bloody hormones 🙄

littlelisa34 · 08/08/2019 12:40

@Samantha11K I know relaxing is a lot easier said than done but your both in it together and see each other through your bad days like yesterday, because me and my partner both work some crazy hours we try and make as much time as possible for each other which I know is impossible sometimes but I find if I can just tell him exactly how I'm feeling rather than keeping it to myself and then it all comes flooding out it makes the unsuccessful months that little bit easier on us both x

tryingforbabyone · 08/08/2019 10:38

@Samantha11K I find that really difficult aswell because I feel if I'm upset he has to be strong but he's also find it difficult too and I don't want him to think I'm blaming him or something Confused

Samantha11K · 08/08/2019 09:26

@littlelisa34 yeah he does and he's been amazing throughout this whole process. He always says I need to just relax.
I get upset because I know how much he wants a baby too so every month I feel like I'm letting him down.
It's easy to forget how hard it is on them as well as us isn't it x

littlelisa34 · 08/08/2019 09:19

@Samantha11K your definitely not the only one and I'm sure your husband completely understands 🙂

Samantha11K · 08/08/2019 09:00

@May2311 so glad I'm not the only one 🙈

My husband came home from work last night to me in floods of tears because I'm on my period. Poor man lol.

May2311 · 08/08/2019 08:54

@Samantha11K totally agree! we will all get there someday and until then we can stick together with our craziness😂😘

Samantha11K · 08/08/2019 08:44

It's good to know so many women are in the same position. No one talks about the struggles TTC.
My friends all have children and all got pregnant either by accident or on the first couple of months trying so I'm like, why isn't it that easy for me.

I got so frustrated that I was doing all the right things and it still didn't happen.

All I can say is, when we all finally get that good news we're waiting for, it will be all the more special because you've waited so long for it.

littlelisa34 · 08/08/2019 08:19

@Ginfizz90 😁 it's true because I got to the stage where I was reading the same threads over again in case I'd missed something was driving myself batty.. yes this TWW is horrible just wishing it away so the next cycle can begin. I know you should be positive in the TWW but I'm more realistic with myself so I'm not so disappointed when AF shows up.

littlelisa34 · 08/08/2019 08:14

@May2311 yeah I never really realised the enormous amount of women that were struggling with conceiving but until your in it yourself and for me I thought it would be a much easier process. I'm always on the look out for new things to try and I don't think that helps the process at all..

Ginfizz90 · 07/08/2019 21:52

@littlelisa34 lol to you banning yourself from google past 7pm! That is so me!!!!

I get so fed up of reading so much into every twinge etc. I'm actually fine even when AF arrives I just hate this torturous two week wait.

May2311 · 07/08/2019 21:41

@littlelisa34 3 cycle of officially trying. Men definitely easier! My hubby can totally switch off 😂 I must admit I knew it wasn’t going to be just as easy as coming off the pill and falling straight away but I never realised how long it takes so many people. When I joined this site and started reading threads- it made me so nervous and made me obsessed with researching everything!!!

@Ginfizz90 ah yes what a wonderful birthday pressie!!! Keep us informed!

@AlmostLondoner agree with the others- I can see something! So exciting!!

@Izzimai20031998 I say if your up for it go for it! At the end of the day it cannot he healthy if the only reason we DTD is to get the BFP- we might as well have some fun in the process!

littlelisa34 · 07/08/2019 19:17

@tryingforbabyone it will happen for us all I'm sure of it.. I only decided it was the right time for us this year but now I feel like I should of made the decision years ago but not much I can do about it now.

tryingforbabyone · 07/08/2019 18:36

@littlelisa34 yes I feel exactly the same. I'm only in cycle 5 but I have thought about it for years so just feels like forever but we'll see what happens Smile

littlelisa34 · 07/08/2019 17:55

@tryingforbabyone I know I haven't told a great deal of people we are TTC because I know the minute I do I will get the dreaded "are you pregnant yet" and it's hard enough telling my partner AF has arrived every month without all my friends and family too.. it's always nice for somebody to know exactly what your going through, what cycle are you on? If you have any weird remedies your trying your more than welcome to share them with this crazy lady 😁

@Samantha11K Yeah I've just turned 35 so it feels like every passing month is another month closer to menopause, which I know in reality that's just ridiculous well unless I go through it early then not so ridiculous.. and wait for the referrals from my gp seem to be taking forever.. I always thought because I was on the older side of things it would take a little longer but I didn't think I would become this obsessive!! Me and my partner spoke the other night and if we are unsuccessful this month I'm going to try acupuncture and nothing else and we are just going to BD throughout the whole month sort of as and when and see if we can relax a little and see if that brings us any joy.. x

Samantha11K · 07/08/2019 17:42

@tryingforbabyone remember everyone is so different too, what some women feel, others won't. I don't think there's such a thing as normal! Definitely don't put your life on hold. Do everything you want to do and if you happen to get pregnant then cross that bridge when you come it.

@littlelisa34 I also find it very hard to not calculate everything and read into every little thing. I'm 33, 34 next month so I also feel like I'm running out of time. I had to stop doing it for the sake of my health because every month I wasn't pregnant, I felt like I was getting worse, getting more and more obsessed with planning.

tryingforbabyone · 07/08/2019 17:41

@littlelisa34 thank you! It's just so difficult to be positive. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to! It's nice to have someone to talk to because people don't understand.

littlelisa34 · 07/08/2019 17:25

@tryingforbabyone try look at it a different way hun, hopefully you will have the new addition to your family but if not and that a great big huge IF then plan Australia and who knows what could happen on that holiday, the relaxation, sunshine and lots of bd'ing maybe that's when you'll make your lovely new addition.. I'm keeping all my fingers crossed for you this month 😁x

tryingforbabyone · 07/08/2019 17:16

@littlelisa34 I feel exactly the same! I am putting off doing things in case. My OH wanted to book a holiday next year and I've said we can't because hopefully we'll have an extra member to the family! We're going to save money instead and have said if it hasn't happened by then then we will go to Australia in the summer holidays but I secretly can't imagine (or want it to happen) because it would mean no baby STILL Sad
