The Hut of Gl/Doom Part V- for the unapologetically despondent

The new hut. Ta-da!

This one is a snug little basement World War 2 type nightclub, with dim lighting, snug velvet sofas, red walls and certainly no politically correct smoking bans. Occasionally certain selected men may be admitted at our convenience.

Sit down, make yourselves at home, and never, ever apologise for feeling like shit. That's about it.

I thought that GBS was a very common risk post delivery and that they were supposed to check straight away if you show symptoms?
If you are forceful enough, which I think you probably are by now, then you should show them your research and all your test results. They cant brush you off as a looney female then!

lissiethevampireslayer · 29/10/2007 12:16

from what i can gather as soon as i find out im pg i have to start on a 2w course of anti-biotics to clear the GBS with regular top ups. thats if i can get them to accept that its a problem (tho it took 2w after ds was born to test the placenta and find it)

ronshar · 29/10/2007 12:13

Can they not give you massive dose of IV antibiotics to clear it before any more beans get infected?

lissiethevampireslayer · 29/10/2007 12:09

i know. he's also overlooked the glaringly obvious point that the only bean that stuck (apart from ds) was outside the womb. the research I did said that GBS can live in the womb for years, as soon as a bean becomes active (6w mark, ringing any bells?) it gives them a MASSIVE dose of streptococcus.

ronshar · 29/10/2007 12:06

He must have missed the 6 MC thing. You dont seem to have a problem with the making bit but the keeping bit. Bloody men they are all crap.

lissiethevampireslayer · 29/10/2007 11:27

exactly, i told her how frustrated i am with our current consultant (who basically told me to go away, put on weight and we'll start on clomid soon) he's focussing on my infertility, not my inability to carry

ronshar · 29/10/2007 11:24

Well that sounds good at least they are taking you seriously, which is something the normal docs dont really do isnt it!

lissiethevampireslayer · 29/10/2007 10:16

well, the nurse asked if i was taking anti-biotics when i get pg (for GBS) they will also run more in depth tests including a lap & dye.

ronshar · 29/10/2007 10:11

I see you have got a bit further in your quest for answers. What will the new hospital do for you. Will it be tests etc?
Tell me to bugger off if too nosey!

lissiethevampireslayer · 29/10/2007 10:06

glad you are ok ronshar. ikwym.

ronshar · 29/10/2007 09:59

Morning ladies.
Can I just add that I get really pissed fed up with those who spend a week testing when it is far to early. I dont mean those who are due tew and get a inconclusive result but those who just constantly test and tell us about it. Wait till you are due fgs.
Rant over.

PS Lissie, I am ok had a great break without the kids, much better now.

lissiethevampireslayer · 29/10/2007 08:49

youd have thought so.

i think i suggested a stats rollcall so that she could see how pathetic it was

DuchesseDeVil · 29/10/2007 08:44

That sort of comment (2m one) could only come out of the mouth of an immature 15 yr old, surely? Or someone who hadn't evolved much beyond 15...

lissiethevampireslayer · 29/10/2007 08:41

lol, i hate it when people say "ive been ttc 2m, its just taking so long!"

i also hate the "am i pg" threads.
ffs, do a HPT!

DuchesseDeVil · 29/10/2007 08:36

That's why I'm spending less and less time on MN as well- I'm turning into a Grumpy Old Woman. Just the word Help! in the subject line of a ttc thread makes me want to spew, cos it's usually about someone who is pregnant accidentally. The fact that my first three pregnancies were accidents is neither here nor there- I'm just too bitter...

lissiethevampireslayer · 29/10/2007 08:33

thank you.

everyones been very quiet in here. i am leaving the ttc threads again i think. i hate other people getting BFPs now. ftc is making me evil!

some good news tho, i have spoken to Liverpool Womens Hospital and if i get a doctors referral (which will be easy) they will take me on as a patient (they are great with recurrant mc) so i will at least have a fighting chance of getting some answers!

sideways · 27/10/2007 17:15

No thanks lissie, don't worry about it. I'll be happy enough if you get your desired result from it!!

lissiethevampireslayer · 27/10/2007 10:38

hi! was keeping my eye out for you. i did thanks and its fab!! are you sure you dont want any money for it?

sideways · 26/10/2007 15:36

lissie - sorry to jump in here again, but this is the thread I know you check. Just wondering if you ever got the parcel I sent you a couple of weeks ago.

lissiethevampireslayer · 22/10/2007 22:35

i cant get anywhere near scrabulous. shall try again

duchesse · 22/10/2007 22:01

Hello all. I hope you're all as well as can be expected.

(lissie- hope your pc woes are nearly over- it's your move on both games)

lissiethevampireslayer · 21/10/2007 23:04

how are you today ronshar?

duchesse, cant access facebook, im not ignoring you, i promise. its a new computer and keeps booting me off

mistlethrush · 19/10/2007 21:40

Why are they always out when you need them?

ronshar · 19/10/2007 14:21

My Dh as much as I love him, is crap.
He has absolutely no emotional ability inside him at all. He genuinely does not understand why this whole MC thing upsets me.
When I had mmc in March he thought that once I got over the ERPC (the next day) that I would be all ok. He was very surprised when a couple of months later I was crying on his shoulder! He is very good at patting my back

lissiethevampireslayer · 18/10/2007 20:55

its tough isnt it, men just dont understand that primitive longing for a child, they try. but its different for them!
