The Hut of Gl/Doom Part V- for the unapologetically despondent

The new hut. Ta-da!

This one is a snug little basement World War 2 type nightclub, with dim lighting, snug velvet sofas, red walls and certainly no politically correct smoking bans. Occasionally certain selected men may be admitted at our convenience.

Sit down, make yourselves at home, and never, ever apologise for feeling like shit. That's about it.

should have also added, i know that i am having a paddy and spiting my dummy out, but felt i needed to rant. could have cited a few more examples bothering me at the moment but perhaps too much detail about rl so i won't. couldn't finish last night as dd poorly and came down so had to abandon.

santasmissus · 15/12/2007 23:33

i try really hard and i am genuinely pleased for the bfp's other people get but i am finding it so hard to be gracious about it.

what i'm finding especially hard at the minute is when people fall so quickly after a miscarriage. i know they don't forget their pain from their mc, and i know they are delighted to conceive again, but they can have no possible idea of how painful it is to see the months clicking on and on and on...and on. i have a friend who had an mc was pg again within a few months and delivered around my due date and thinks i should be over it by now - she hasn't got a clue . i thought i would fall again quickly and it would make it easier, but here i am over a year later, and resigning myself to it being unlikely to happen again.

No afaik they still pray for all the poor souls trapped in Purgatory (in the month of November). I don't know who thinks about them the rest of the year Ugh baby dust............

duchesse · 14/12/2007 22:52

When I mention chipper people, I absolutely do not mean anyone at present in the hut. Am thinking of the occasional person popping head around door and sprinkling that evil babydust.

Spot on, Little Miss Catholic ( ;) ) On both counts (drink and descriptors). The only way you can have hell made worse is by having people coming in trying to be chipper.

Although haven't they now abolished purgatory? Isn't it just up or down now?

Ah yes, I remember those names. I used to think of the tent as purgatory and the hut as hell. Champagne and wine takes some of the rougher edges off I reckon.

duchesse · 14/12/2007 22:16

I wonder how all the hut formers are- Beansprout, Impatience, Seaside, Greedy etc... (have missed loads out, sorry)
do pop in and say how you are from time to time, ladies... Even if we still are a bunch of miserable barren women.

Probably sank into a slough of despond I should think.

erm, not that I care

ladylush · 14/12/2007 22:05

No contest - the hut wins every time. What happened to the tent - not that I'm interested you understand

duchesse · 14/12/2007 21:56

You're doing a grand job Ladylush.

I suppose after a while nobody could be bothered with the tent of indifference, whilst we sat out of our heads in the Hut. (it is 1940s underground cabaret, this one...)

ladylush · 14/12/2007 21:55

er "got" crept in somehow. Must be the pouilly fume.....hic.

ladylush · 14/12/2007 21:54

Forgive me Duchesse for I am unaccustomed as to the ways of the hut. I did frequent the tent of indifference for a while but got the novelty of indifference wore off pretty rapidly I'm sad to say.

ladylush · 14/12/2007 21:51

Neat or with coke (found some in the fridge)

duchesse · 14/12/2007 21:51

ladylush- we're usually too depressed to to anything but sit on the velvet settles drinking and smoking. Haven't checked the cupboards since we moved into this Hut although i do remember that people keep dropping by with supplies.

Ok I've got Prosecco, Champagne, Pouilly Fume............ erm beer, bacardi, vodka and Jack Daniels. SFA mixers but I'm sure you ladies aren't fussy. Who's having what? Sorry, no red wine.

ladylush · 14/12/2007 21:26

Gives me hope - not that i want one at 44.....but still. Nearly 36 and feeling very bleak

merrylissiemas · 14/12/2007 21:24

now? NOW? do these women not realise what a gift it is to be able to get/stay pg? do they not undestand how fucking lucky they are that their wombs work properly?

merrylissiemas · 14/12/2007 21:21

oh duchesse. shit!
its so unfair!

duchesse · 14/12/2007 21:21

No. She's fine about it now.

OP posts:
ladylush · 14/12/2007 21:20

Oh dear. Is she wishing she wasn't?

duchesse · 14/12/2007 21:17

utterly unplanned shock pregnancy
I told her today to just cut out the middle man and give me the baby when it's born

She didn't think it was anywhere nearly as funny as I did
