The Hut of Gl/Doom Part V- for the unapologetically despondent

The new hut. Ta-da!

This one is a snug little basement World War 2 type nightclub, with dim lighting, snug velvet sofas, red walls and certainly no politically correct smoking bans. Occasionally certain selected men may be admitted at our convenience.

Sit down, make yourselves at home, and never, ever apologise for feeling like shit. That's about it.

LOL Ladylush.

Well, we got to the docs this morning and he thankfully agreed 18 months was long enough - although it has to go to their referal committee (beauracracy gone mad ?) but he didn't think it would be an issue. A 2-3 month wait which I think is ok although we're going to discuss going privately.

So a waiting game here - we're not going to be ttc at least this cycle so I'm not pg (ha ha) if we go skiing and will see about the month before skiing as I think AF would be due when we're away so I might risk it. Am going to try and get fit and lose weight in the meantime.

Morning ladies, Wheely - fab that your DH is being so proactive - they do get a bit wobbly when the spotlight is on their man bits don't they? DH doing his bit Monday morning so no BD over the weekend...is a bloody relief to be told not to do it ha ha

ladylush has been over a year now so doc agreed to refer me - felt a bit weird about it to be honest cos thought he'd say don't be daft

haven't looked into fertility clinics yet but will do as soon as get this first week back over with - have been so busy feels like not been on holiday at all - jet lag not helping of course. How are you ronny? Good Christmas - how are the girls?

Herby hon - just met up with old pal who is now 6 months PG after 2 MC and 6 years of trying and other friend had MCs for 3 years (basically was either PG or having an MC entire time - sounds exhausting) and now has 2 kids so there is hope (I know you can't believe it will be you til it happens but I really know so many more people that have managed it eventually than have never managed it at all (in fact I only know 1 person like that and she's still of the right age IYSWIM) - anyhoo big hugs winging their way to you (I am now thinking of kittens too)

ladylush · 10/01/2008 20:11

Their bits seem so much less complicated than ours - a bit like their existence imo

wheelybug · 10/01/2008 19:30

thanks LL - me too. I knew he was in spirit really but he just dragged his heels somewhat over his part ! I think he suddenly feels empowered .

ladylush · 10/01/2008 19:23

That's great wheely - glad your dh is with you on this

wheelybug · 10/01/2008 19:16

Hi All

Herby, don't give up - youre not beaten yet.

Hi Popsy - glad the boarding was good ! We have booked today for skiing (secretly sniffs with distain at the snowboarders herewith... ) so we're off in March. Had a bit of a weep over DH last night as he was umming and aahing about the cost and I said 'Look we have to do this so we are doing something we wouldn't have been able to do if we'd had dc2 last year like we should have done'.

Hi everyone else - how's it going.

DH has certainly pulled his socks up - he did 'his' test last week and even rung for the results today . He is fine, as I knew he would be despite everyone else blaming it on his working lifestlye. So, he said we should go to the doctors to get referred when I had assumed I would go on my own cos getting DH to take time off work akin to asking him to eat worms. Then he suggested we go tomorrow AND that he'd rung our private insurance to check we weren't covered privately.

I had to picked up off the floor.

herbaceous · 10/01/2008 14:42

Thanks girls. You're all so great. That March MC thread was a lifesaver, and we all deserve better luck.

Maybe I'll breed kittens instead. Mmmm. Kittens.

becaroo · 10/01/2008 14:35

Herby...I knew someone who sufferd over 10 mc and went on to have 2 dc.

No such things as signs.....just bloody rotten luck.

ladylush · 10/01/2008 14:27

I second that. Herby

ronshar · 10/01/2008 14:24

No, Herb it is a sign of someone who really wants to be a mother and will be an excellent one because she doesnt give up.

herbaceous · 10/01/2008 14:12

Mercifully I can't remember when Buster was conceived, but found out about the pregnancy 4 Feb, and had the scan when she'd died on 21 March. It feels an important anniversary, as if I don't get up the duff this cycle it will be a year since I last did. And I'll be even further away from ever having a baby. Perhaps I should then give up. Four miscarriages must be a sign...

ladylush · 10/01/2008 14:11

I was told by my GP that I would not get assistance with conception until I had been trying for a year - even though I will be 36 in a week's time.

ronshar · 10/01/2008 14:03

Excellent Pops. I am really pleased somebody here is nice.. Have you looked for a local clinic? Maybe your Gp may be able to help with info about the best local fertility clinics.

perkypopsy · 09/01/2008 20:34

Hey ronny sounds like we had the same anniversary this week - you are much better at dating than me - what with my 35-48 day cycles it's anyones guess
though am sure was between 5th and 7th as that is when the cramps started.

Good news is a fellow MC friend from work told me I had to prepare my face (our code for here comes a PG announcement that you need to pretend you are happy about) and AMAZINGLY I was happy for her - genuinely with no sneaky jealous thoughts at all
Hooray maybe I can be a nice person after all????? (pops grasps at straws here)
She took clomid again this time...and again worked first time (after an MC then 2 years of trying to get PG after that)...pops dashes off to the internet to beg for early appointment for drugs

OracleInaCoracle · 09/01/2008 18:14

totally. x

viksam · 09/01/2008 18:02

My lap and dye was cancelled today also my SIL had a baby girl today. My brother is over the moon, he already has two boys. I hoped i would give my mom and dad there first grandaughter but he beat me to that too. Hhhhhhhhuuuuuuuufffffffffff........
suppose i have to go and see the baby at the weekend, i do want to see the baby but dont want to see the family, does that make sense??

ladylush · 09/01/2008 15:13

hugs for ronshar - always difficult reaching that awful anniversary

ronshar · 09/01/2008 12:58

7th Jan was when my life changed for the worse. I concieved my 3rd baby on that day. It started off as a fantastic time and very quickly turned into a nightmare.
I am sending out love to Lissie, Popps, Ellie, Nh101, and everyone else who helped me get through the nightmare time following the Mc last March. Thank you so very much to everyone who comes on to this thread and gives a shoulder to cry on.

soosy · 08/01/2008 20:56

sorry missed a whole page of posts so I am a bit behind.... Nothing new in the pg stakes.

soosy · 08/01/2008 20:54

Hedgepig I have abandoned the smiling and laughing technique and perfected the, 'it took seven years to have this one, so it might take awhile', preferably through gritted teeth.

About holidays etc just book them and have fun after spending seven years to conceive my first child the only thing I learnt is don't put it off. You can always cancel the holiday at the last minute and its only money....
