The Hut of Gl/Doom Part V- for the unapologetically despondent

The new hut. Ta-da!

This one is a snug little basement World War 2 type nightclub, with dim lighting, snug velvet sofas, red walls and certainly no politically correct smoking bans. Occasionally certain selected men may be admitted at our convenience.

Sit down, make yourselves at home, and never, ever apologise for feeling like shit. That's about it.

not crap at all. i just started knitting as something to obsess over besides the position of my cervix and peeing on sticks. i am doing ALOT of knitting.

ronshar · 23/01/2008 11:54

Yes I know exactly what you mean. Apart from the knitting. I can not knit, I drop stiches, leave big holes and have never managed to get the hang of starting a new line!! How crap am I?

TheGiftedandTalentedGoat · 23/01/2008 11:52

absynth - thats teh spirit! god i hate january i think next year i should jsut take the whole month off as unpaid leave and hide in a room knitting.

ronshar · 23/01/2008 11:49

It is a false front. It feels alittle slatterly to be drinking Absinth this early.

TheGiftedandTalentedGoat · 23/01/2008 11:46

Morning girls. I am feeling optomistic this morning so not hanging around. Perk up Popsy, you are much much stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Herbs, well where are you? Has AF appeared yet?

TheGiftedandTalentedGoat · 23/01/2008 08:45

perkypopsy, tbh i normally just lurk on this thread but your post could have been written by me. esp. the wanting to leave work. hang in there in a months time it will all seem better (i hope).

perkypopsy · 23/01/2008 08:22

is anyone having trouble exisiting this month? I find myself wanting to run away from work about once an hour and the struggle to get out of bed is unbelievable - am starting new job on 1st March but can't even bring myself to be happy about that.
Then this morning I heard on the radio that the lovely Heath Ledger has committed suicide bloody hell - January is even difficult for the rich and famous - was thinking of his poor (ex) wife and baby
and poor me cos don't have one and can't bear to think of another year like the one have just had - am off to get a frothy coffee with a shot of brandy - can't hurt, might help

ladylush · 22/01/2008 18:58

Hugs to nomoremagnolia...

nomoremagnolia · 21/01/2008 17:14

lissie I know how you feel - I'm approaching 30 in a few weeks and feel really fed up - there's just this overwhelming sense of "this isn't where I thought my life would be by now" Just feel physically and emotionally worn out by the whole ftc thing. Getting totally fed up of people around me getting pg just by being in the same room as a man who sneezed (once)

OracleInaCoracle · 21/01/2008 17:07

thanks for the birthday wishes girls. cant believe thats the year over. never thought I'd be so relieved to see the back of 12 months. onward and up..

nah, fuck it, in keeping with the hut:

I want a baby. dh asked me how it feels to be 30 and i realised that i was convinced that wer would at least have our child in our sights by now, but nope. and even ds has joined the "still no baby" crew by asking repeatedly for a baby brother (or sister, he doesnt care)

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

ClairePO · 21/01/2008 11:07

Happy Birthday lissie, its not too early in the day for some virtual champagne....

Hello all

Not sure if this is the right thread to obsess over symptoms, but it seems to have become my home.

Now on cd27, of 28-day cycle, and that symptom-spotting insanity has struck. Quite bad cramps on cd 24-26, making me thinking AF had come early. But nothing. Really sore boobs - feel like bags of water, with lots of pressure in the nips when I get up - just like last time I was pg. Cramps now on and off - when they're on I think 'oh no AF coming', and when they're off I think 'oh no, no more pg-type cramps'. Feel mildly hungover, as i did when pg, but then poss also because I had some wine last night. Slight backache, but I did vaguely strenuous yoga yesterday.

Keep prodding boobs to see if they're still sore (last month they were sore until a couple of days before AF, then deflated).

When AF rears her inevitable head, I'm going to be gutted. Why cant our brains be more pragmatic? More 'come on love, you're not pg'? GGNNNNNNN.

ladylush · 20/01/2008 23:33

Lissielou happy birthday (well it's half an hour away from your bday) and hope you get your birthday wish this year (I think I can guess what it is!)

Asgoodas · 20/01/2008 20:03

Wheely - would be typical wouldn't it? Glad that the confusion is not just mine. Happy birthday for tomorrow Lissie - I hope it is a happy one.

OracleInaCoracle · 20/01/2008 19:48

oh wheely, i hear you! tomorrow is my birthday, its also a year since i got my ep's bfp but i still go doolally mid cycle!

wheelybug · 20/01/2008 19:40

HI All

Sorry AF arrived, together with confusion, Asgoodas.

Lissie - very true about 'no such thing as normal' esp in the f'd up world of desperately ttc. DH and I are strictly not supposed to be ttc this month because we have booked skiing trip and he went away this morning (taking clients skiing - ok for some) until wednesday so probably missing the most likely time but a combination of too much wine and him about to go away meant we got a little carried away last night - on CD12 of a c. 29/30 day cycle. So, now for the first time in 18 months I'm thinking 'oh no, what if its finally worked this time' AAAARRRGHHH (and of course a part of me is hoping it has !).

Doesn't help it was dd's 3rd birthday party yesterday (birthday is actually on thurs) which is a bit poignant.
