Hey guys decided to make an end of August bus as there is already an August bus and by the time we get to the middle of aug we will need a new one anyway and it will keep us all around the same time in our cycles.

My stats
TTC no 2
Cycle 7
CD 1
AF/BFP due 25th August
Age 29(30 in 10 days 🙈)

Sonust did an opk with fmu and I got a smiley face! I've gone from low to peak in 2 hours!

@Tamalama - just read your post from yesterday - sorry you're struggling. Did you have any stress or illness this month? Sometimes that can stop you from ovulating in a given month. I can't recall exactly but I think I had one of these months when we were TTC No.1 and it was just a blip and we now have DC. I was similarly 38, almost 39 so please try not to lose heart.

Have a big slice of something deliciously naughty, a HUGE glass of wine and toast the universe and next month or something (I just remember doing this plus ordering a load of OPKs, pregnancy tests and pre-seed when we'd had a MMC and I had been certain that was it but then decided it would not get the better of me. Lots of love xx

kenhomsbestwok · 03/08/2019 07:05

@Tamalama - thanks! I do love Ken Hom!

@Lauralozzle - it didn't bloody start until yesterday!!

So, last month my cycle was 23 days and this month 29. Period only started yesterday. According to the Clue app that means my fertile window is now: right on my period.

So I did OPK - Clearable digital and cheapie - yes, I am in FW. FFS!!!!!!!

DH isn't keen on having sex during period but has said he will if I want to. My concern is that if my womb lining is shedding, then surely there is no point as it won't be back to where it should be for the egg to stick anyway?!

SO bloody annoying. This is why doctor has said to get on with trying for number 2 as my cycles are all over the place and sometimes very short and I'm 41 next month.

Positive is we had originally said we'd wait until september anyway and now we are kind of forced to do that, plus allows another month for the folic acid and ubiquinol to take hold in my system. But once you've decided to try it aint half disappointing not to be able to!!!!

Headswim · 02/08/2019 21:24

Been taking a break from the forums for a little while, been trying on and off for a year, and stopped temping and tracking so much as it was stressing me out even more!

Buttt I am feeling hopeful this month. Feel supremely irritated at the smallest thing, so much gas, heartburn, twinges, heavy boobs, eating everything... ttw is a rollercoaster!

AmIseeingRight · 02/08/2019 19:32

hi ladies congrats on the BFP Flowers long may the trend continue. feeling good about August,

AF has just F£#*ked off, so may she not return for 9 months.

LA89 · 02/08/2019 19:11

Hi all,

Can I join too please?

TTC No 1
Cycle 3 and CD 8 today
AF due 26th August
Age 29 (30 in October)

I've been using the clear blue OPKs since cycle 1. Got my static smiley cycle 1 but last month just got flashing smileys no static 😔. Going to try SMEP this month and hopefully that'll work for us!

Fingers crossed for you all!

sao81 · 02/08/2019 17:58

Hi ladies! Recognize a few from July bus, new phone forgot all my passwords for my mumsnet email so new one it was! AF due 19/20th, currently on CD12, due to ovulate Sunday as flo changed today due to EWCM, no positive OPK yet but feeling really positive this month! How is everyone getting on?

november90 · 02/08/2019 16:03

Hi everyone! Just checking in as it's been a while. How's everyone doing? I'm feeling a lot better about the month ahead. My app is normally quite accurate and predicting ovulation on the 19th of August. I don't think I'm gonna use opk this month as I feel it got me down last month... just the constant testing and thinking about it..... I don't want to be haunting by all the tests (dramatic I know). Think we might start dtd every other day in a weeks time.... just wonder if people thought this was a good idea? I just felt so stressed last month and that was my first month using opk! Surely if we dtd every other day we'll catch it? Hope everyone is ok and massive congrats to you @DramaLama2019 ! So chuffed for you!! X

Yougottabekittenme · 02/08/2019 14:59

Hi all, just checking in, great to see some positive stores! Hope you can shed some light/advise on my situation!
I track everything religiously (temping,CM,opk) on two different apps and they state I am due to ovulate on Monday but I haven’t got any sign of CM the past day or two!
I started opk for this cycle on the 29th and I got a really strong line (not positive though as it wasn’t as strong as the control) and some EWM was delighted and we started to DTD thinking that ovulation was on route, tested on the 30th and it’s was fainter and by the 31st the opk line had completely disappeared! Do you think I’ve already ovulated? we DTD all the days around the 29th just by chance so hopefully if I did we’ll catch it, but we haven’t DTD the past two nights due to not being home and I’m afraid we’ve missed it, this whole thing is making us both very anxious and it’s hard to focus on anything else, it’s getting me very down. Anyone any experience of getting a strong OPK and then a few days later it’s going blank and then ovulating a few days after that???

Tamalama · 02/08/2019 12:29

Keeping everything crossed for you @ThatSamIAm 😊

Tamalama · 02/08/2019 12:28

Congrats @DramaLama2019 😊

ThatSamIAm · 02/08/2019 11:33

Oops name change fail 😂 try again;

Congrats @DramaLama2019 😁 I have similar news; I had a faint positive this morning. Going to test again in a few days to confirm but there was definitely a line there. I've had a MC previously so I know it's not a given but keeping everything crossed I'll get an April bundle 🥰 good luck everyone else, sending you positive vibes for August 🍀

@flissity I have a little girl who turns 3 in November. She was born a month before my 36th birthday 😊

@mrssunshinexxx Yes, all this uncertainty is horrible. I'm worrying that if I'm not ovulating that maybe it's been since the mc, maybe the monthly twinges and ewcm are symptoms but I never actually ov. This month is the first month I'm properly using opks, and I just feel so disheartened. On the walk to work I suddenly had awful stomach cramps along my c section scar and lower back ache that I've been sat at my desk with a hot water bottle on my tummy! 😕

PartOne · 02/08/2019 11:00

Hi Ladies, Can i join please?

mrssunshinexxx · 02/08/2019 09:10

@Tamalama sorry to hear you are struggling @Sophieb15 mentioned a test that the doctors do to check some levels I can't remember exactly what she will be along soon hopefully to clarify x

catsandkid · 02/08/2019 08:43

Joining please! We will be TTC cycle 1 for baby #2 towards the end of Aug. AF due ~10th Aug and then after that we're on it! Kinda decided we'd like to TTC and realised we'd missed this months window by a few days!

flissity · 02/08/2019 08:13

@Tamalama how frustrating for you Sad I really don't have any advise. Have you got other children? I am 36 so I know how you feel about being a bit older and the worry etc xx

Tamalama · 02/08/2019 07:53

Feeling really fed up this morning. I've been testing with cheapie opks since Monday, every day has been negative. Had a ton of ewcm yesterday morning and I took a Clearblue Digital 4 day test yesterday mid morning and negative. I took one this morning with fmu and negative, and all ewcm has all but dried up 😕 I'm starting to worry that maybe I'm just not ovulating anymore, even though I get the twinges every month. I had bad twinges on Monday.

I'm 38 (39 in December) and I had a mc in January. I had an internal scan at that point and was told my ovaries look healthy and I shouldn't have a problem conceiving. Im now on Cycle 5, and every month it's a bfn when taking pregnancy tests, and now I just feel flat that even though I get ovary twinges each month and ewcm perhaps I'm just not ovulating 😕

Thought I'd be on the August bus due to a bleed at 11dpo which I assumed was an early period. Just as heavy and just as much cramping.

Did an ovulation test cd 5... blazing positive- ok that's weird- maybe it's left over LH from period ? CD8 did another and again blazing positive.... remembered that it can be a sign of pregnancy so took the last pregnancy test in the house- BFP!!

I was testing twice a day from 8dpo and stopped when I bled- so no squinter at all today- clear as day!!

Honestly was starting to get fed up!

flissity · 01/08/2019 23:46

Can I say 'Hi' and join you guys?
I am TTc3. I have 2 DD's (10 and 7) and this will be DH's 1st child. Hopefully

I am 36, had the coil taken out beginning of July and I think I am on CD1 possibly (only had spotting so far...) . But first cycle so everything is probably getting back to normal..
Conceived the girls fairly quick - 1 or 2 months I think. :)

Matilda1707 · 01/08/2019 19:39

@Sophieb15 thank you! I read up on the SMEP last night...if it’s not this month then following it to the letter next month x

Tamalama · 01/08/2019 16:00

Does anyone use a basal body thermometer? If so, which is the best one that's not too expensive?
