Just got a BFP. I took the test during my lunch break, it was more out of boredom than a real belief that I could be preggers.

Am totally stunned.

I have only had 1 AF since giving birth a year ago. That AF was eight weeks ago. I was not surprised when another did not follow 4 weeks later as I thought it would take a while for normal service to resume.

The thing is I have not had sex since the AF. Seriously. Therefore one of the following most be true:

  1. I was pregnant before last AF and it was not a real AF. But it was very, very heavy so this seems an unlikely option. It would also make me quite far along (10 weeks?) which is too scarey for words.

  2. This is an immacualte conception.

I am not at all sure what to beleive. Am sitting at my desk staring at the test. Have not called DP yet. Maybe I should call the Vatican instead.

Woweee!!!! Nice one!

I'm really pleased for you xx

Egg · 01/08/2007 12:06

Gosh no need to feel silly. You have only had one AF in the last year, so much harder to tell if you even might be pg, and if you weren't actually trying as such, then you would of course be putting the feeling crap down to bugs etc.

Just so pleased it was good news . We are all totally impressed!

eleusis · 01/08/2007 11:59

You must print this thread for the baby book. It will be much fun to read later.

3Ddonut · 01/08/2007 11:56

Congrats, glad everything is well.

Idris, the exact same thing happened to one of the girls I work with, I checked your profile and live nowhere near you, so I assume it's a different girl!

WaynettaSlob · 01/08/2007 11:52

Easywriter · 01/08/2007 11:44

I don't think you should feel silly.

You should be feeling lucky and clever cos you are.

Sorry, I'm being gushy, I'm just SO happy for you.

If your child were the son of God... church school or not?

Mercy · 01/08/2007 11:42

Blimey, what a story!

Congratulations

puppydavies · 01/08/2007 11:40

woohoo

IdrisTheDragon · 01/08/2007 11:40

I had a friend who was 19 weeks before she found out she was pregnant - she hadn't had any periods since her DD was born and only thought she could have been pregnant when she realised there was something inside kicking her .

peanutbear · 01/08/2007 11:39

I found out really late to I think if your not trying you just get on with it dont you and hink your a bit undr the weather then one day reality dawns!!!!

Is DP over the moon

Katy44 · 01/08/2007 11:38

Oh now I really want to know
Give us a clue...pleaaaaase

InShockAndAwe · 01/08/2007 11:36

My regular name is going to be a big anti-climax for you all. Don't ratchet up the suspense too much.

I do need to tell my friends first which I will try and do before I go on hols tomorrow (Had I known my condition I may not have booked a fortnight of indulging in French cheese, wine and salami...).

Am feeling a bit silly this morning. How can an intelligent woman in her late twenties not know her own body well enough to detect that she is one third of a way through a pregnancy??? Beleive me I did not jump straight to blooming - I honestly thought that I just kept getting bugs.

can you imagine the headlines "Bugaboo chosen for the son of God!"

Well i'm of you going to 11 weeks without noticing- no chance here i'm afraid!

meemar · 01/08/2007 11:35

Congratulations - how wonderful!

I have some old pg tests upstairs - I may go and wee on one to see what happens

Katy44 · 01/08/2007 11:34

And you'd soon have to name him as the father on the birth certificate, imagine that!

FlameParakeet · 01/08/2007 11:33

Oh YAY!!!!

(Glad it's not the son of god... think how much hassle it would be with the paparazzi following you all the time )

MerlinsBeard · 01/08/2007 11:30

congratulations!!

Are we allowed to know who you are now?

popsycal · 01/08/2007 11:28

Oh wow!!!!
Congratulations
so when do you reveal your regualr name

Pidge · 01/08/2007 11:26

Talk about suspense .... CONGRATULATIONS!

Now we want your tips on how to skip all the vomiting and exhaustion and go straight in to blooming!!!
