Just got a BFP. I took the test during my lunch break, it was more out of boredom than a real belief that I could be preggers.

Am totally stunned.

I have only had 1 AF since giving birth a year ago. That AF was eight weeks ago. I was not surprised when another did not follow 4 weeks later as I thought it would take a while for normal service to resume.

The thing is I have not had sex since the AF. Seriously. Therefore one of the following most be true:

  1. I was pregnant before last AF and it was not a real AF. But it was very, very heavy so this seems an unlikely option. It would also make me quite far along (10 weeks?) which is too scarey for words.

  2. This is an immacualte conception.

I am not at all sure what to beleive. Am sitting at my desk staring at the test. Have not called DP yet. Maybe I should call the Vatican instead.

Easywriter · 01/08/2007 09:05

Ooooo! It's 9.03. Surely she's at work but not working.

i.e.typing on MN

I'm thinking of you ISAA and hoping the result last night was what you wanted.

Hope to hear from you soon.

duchesse · 01/08/2007 09:02

Happened to me. Didn't believe it till I saw her on the scan, at 11 weeks You shorten the pregnancy to somewhat more manageable proportions.

Anyway, congrats and all that.

Piggy · 01/08/2007 09:01

Very good point NQC. Hope she's ok.

Egg · 01/08/2007 08:59

Agree also, I used to do PG tests sometimes when we had not had unprotected sex and had little or no chance of conceiving, just because I felt a bit sick...

Really hope news is good.

LittleSquirt · 01/08/2007 08:54

I agree.

And she also did explain that she did an HPT as she "felt" pregnant. Doesn't sounds that unlikely or strange to me?

NotQuiteCockney · 01/08/2007 08:54

(I hope it's not that, but I'm just saying ...)

NotQuiteCockney · 01/08/2007 08:53

Pregnancy hormones, and a positive test result, 8 weeks after a mc means retained materials and a D+C. Which isn't a great prospect, to put it mildly.

eleusis · 01/08/2007 08:52

I think it's a bit premature to be calling this a wind up. It has been hours, not days. And if it's true (which I think it is) and she had bad news she will surely not enjoying reading that comment.

It is entirely possible that she miscarried at that heavy period and there is still some pregnancy hormone linguering.

So, let's hold back on the wind up accusations.

belgo · 01/08/2007 08:41

some people just don't spend their whole lives on the PC, hard as that is to believe. Let's give her a chance to respond before shouting 'wind up'.

flightattendant · 01/08/2007 08:39

I did preg tests all the bloody time just because I wanted to be pg, no matter if I'd had sex at a reasonably useful time

flightattendant · 01/08/2007 08:38

I don't think it's a wind up. Far too frank and pleasant OP if you ask me. Just hope it isn't bad news.

wannaBe · 01/08/2007 08:35

this is a wind up.

if she hadn't had sex and had had a heavy period why would she do a pregnancy test? makes no sense.

plus if she didn't have a pc at home she would have said that she would update tomorrow..

.

flightattendant · 01/08/2007 08:28

I really hope it wasn't bad news, she won't know what to say if it was

Egg · 01/08/2007 08:25

Hopefully some news by 9? If she has no PC at home and has to wait til work? Fingers crossed.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 01/08/2007 08:25

hope all is ok xxx

IdrisTheDragon · 01/08/2007 08:16

Hope everything is all right.
