Thank you, @purplefig - I feel a lot more settled. It was all pretty traumatic last week, but I’ve had time to get my head around it and it was good to see the progression in the CB digital test yesterday (it went to 2-3 weeks) so that was reassuring.
I think it’s just a lot to take in without having the bleed etc, but feeling much more settled about it!
I’m so tired too!

Tell me about your potato obsession? 😂

purplefig · 22/07/2019 11:15

@ELW85 you sound in a really good place today, makes me smile. I really have got everything crossed for you. Not long at all to go - perhaps not temping will speed things up to. I loved temping for TTC, but I did find doing it first thing put me in that mindset as soon as I woke up. I'm pretty good thanks, just the usual tired/potato obsession stuff going on!

ELW85 · 22/07/2019 10:49

Morning @purplefig :) how you doing?
The scan is a week on Wednesday so I’m not sure if the time will drag or fly, but it actually felt pretty good not temping today.
It won’t change anything so I’m happy to just crack on and stay positive! Xx

purplefig · 22/07/2019 10:44

@ELW85 think that's a really sensible plan. When is the scan? xx

Makingawish · 22/07/2019 09:37

@May2311 it’s a First Response test. I’ve not used them yet but got some ready to collect for this month. This will be month 4 of trying for us. You? X

ELW85 · 22/07/2019 09:02

Welcome, @PrincessConsuela12 and @May2311!

@May2311 - I’d wait until AF is due before you test, but if you really can’t wait, a minimum of 10/11 DPO is your best bet, to allow implantation and HCG to be detected.

A FRER is a First Response Early Result pregnancy test and it’s the most sensitive one on the market.

@Maisy24 - I’m really sorry to hear that. It’s a really harsh process, TTC for a while host of reasons. Be kind to yourself today and indulge in something.

@newgirl89 - I didn’t temp this morning, and I’m feeling pretty good about it :) it’s like step 1 of a 12 step programme, haha!

Have a wonderful Monday, all x

May2311 · 22/07/2019 08:39

@Makingawish Thanks! Tell me about it! If only it was that easy.

What is FRER?

How long have you been trying?

newgirl89 · 22/07/2019 08:17

Welcome newbies!

@Maisy24 so sorry to hear af arrived. At least you get a week to try rest / reset and start over. It will happen for you.

@Lozzlepop hope you are ok. Been thinking about you over the weekend.

@ELW85 100% agree on the thermometer. Will be tough though as it's almost part of daily routine!!

4 dpo for me. The wait is on!!

Happy Monday x

Makingawish · 22/07/2019 08:08

@May2311 I thought the same about it being pretty much DTD when you’re ovulating and voila! But clearly not. I’m now even more baffled by these people who fall pregnant unexpectedly.

I think the FRER tests are the most accurate early ones and can pick up a positive about 6 days before AF is due x

Maisy24 · 22/07/2019 07:58

Well AF came this morning for me, so that's officially 12 months TTC, genuinely did not see this coming Sad. I feel like it is never going to happen.

May2311 · 22/07/2019 07:36

Hi everyone😊

Hope you don’t mind me joining. I am new to this forum and it is so reassuring to hear everyone else’s story! I started thinking it was just me who couldn’t stop thinking about becoming pregnant!! I can’t believe there is so much to know- I always thought you just do the deed and that’s that! 😂

I’m currently 7dpo and seem to be symptom spotting🙈 I’m really nervous about doing a test too soon! My periods are sort of regular ( I think I’ll be due Friday 29) but even if I am late I am nervous about doing a test and it being a BFN as I don’t want to be disappointed!

To top it off I’m going on holiday on Sunday! I don’t want to be worrying about having a glass or 2 of sangria😂

When do you think will be the best/most accurate time for me to do a test? I want to be certain that the result is accurate!

Thanks xxxxx

PrincessConsuela12 · 22/07/2019 00:18

Hi ladies,

Newbie / silent reader - I hope you don’t mind me joining you on this tread Smile

This is our first month (semi) TTC after I had an ectopic pregnancy in December. I am almost at the end of my TWW (AF due on Friday) and symptom spotting constantly.

I have taken a few IC and all BFN Sad. I was feeling sick and dizzy last week, went off coffee and v hungry but have been getting cramps since yesterday so it’s not looking good...

We’re not telling anyone we’re TTC again & even though DH is really supportive it would be great to speak to people who are in a similar position Smile

Imjustme2019 · 21/07/2019 22:40

Thanks @ELW85 and @Lozzlepop will see if coq10 works. He can be a bit stubborn like me so we'll see how I get on...

You'll get there @Lozzlepop, it will happen for you.

Didn't know that about twins later on either, I thought it was always ivf too.

Makingawish · 21/07/2019 19:48

Hi everyone! Hope it’s ok me jumping on. I’m TTC first baby since April/May. Came off the pill in February and AF has been regular since then but only seem to last 2.5 days properly then it’s just spotting. Have been using cheap OPK’s and seem to be ovulating but got some clear blue ones on the way to be more accurate. Also going to try preseed this month! Haven’t had any luck with conceive plus x

ELW85 · 21/07/2019 17:34

@Larrydavid @Maisy24 - I will put the thermometer down as honestly, my temps are hovering around the 98.4 mark (two kind of ‘steps’ up since Ov) and they may have a couple of days where they fluctuate but I can’t control it.
And if it was about to give me bad news, I can’t change it, so why obsess every morning?
This is my adult view of the world today, haha!

So keeping positive and everything crossed til the scan, and thanks ladies as always, for the support!

@Larrydavid - the twins thing is as a result of an increase in FSH which is usually triggered by a diminished ovarian reserve, so you get one hormone telling another to put more effort in to releasing one each month. In that, multiple eggs can get released. Fun :D

Larrydavid · 21/07/2019 17:02

@Maisy24 thank you! You're right and I'd be saying the same to other people. I think sometimes it can just get a bit overwhelming - I panicked yesterday but I think I'm good again today. It's great that your friend got pregnant so quickly! And I did not know that about twins! I thought twins were more likely with ivf but I didn't realize that about the double egg thing. I really hope it happens soon for you too 💛

Larrydavid · 21/07/2019 16:58

@ELW85 that's great - sounds like it's totally going in the right direction - hopefully your scan will put your mind at ease and you can relax into the pregnancy a bit more after it. The thermometer going away is probably a good thing too- I think it's such a tough balance - being in control and having information vs obsessively monitoring/ searching for signs. I never know what's best - which becomes evident each month when it's time to test! 🙈

Maisy24 · 21/07/2019 16:56

@ELW85 glad to hear everything is looking well for you! I definitely think putting the thermometer away is a great idea, you need to just relax now and enjoy rather than stressing (i know it's easier said than done!) xxx

@Larrydavid hello, just wanted to say try to relax and not think time is getting away, my friend is 38 and within 4 months of ttc she's pregnant with twins naturally; the hospital said twins are more likely the later you leave it as our body starts to release more than one egg, so I'd say that's a really positive thing about trying later on! Oh also I'm 30 and I have been ttc for a year and nothing! Age isn't as big of a deal as they make out Smile xxx

ELW85 · 21/07/2019 16:35

@Larrydavid - totally understandable! I think we’re all guilty of internet black holes :) really pleased to hear you’re feeling better though!
I’m good thank you; took another test today (and one more to take before the early reassurance scan) and it showed 2-3 weeks pregnant, which was great to see, so fingers crossed everything keeps going in the right direction.
I really need to stop temping though, so I put my thermometer away today.

Larrydavid · 21/07/2019 16:20

@ELW85 thank you. I think I'm feeling much better today. You're right - it will happen at some point. I think I can fall into internet black holes sometimes about age. How are you doing?

@Macbless thanks - I feel better knowing others are in a similar situation. Sounds like you're in a good place to have a baby now! Hope it happens quickly for you.

@Lozzlepop thank you for the reassurance too. I felt a bit overwhelmed with everything yesterday but am feeling much better today. I hope you're doing ok and had a relaxing weekend.

Sunshine8888 · 21/07/2019 11:05

Well now on CD4 and AF seems to have vanished completely! CB instructions say if you don’t know the length of your cycle start testing from CD10. It does also say though that you recommend waiting at least two natural cycles before using so I might lock them away for now. It’s a lot of £££ to waste!

Lozzlepop · 21/07/2019 09:22

Morning ladies

@ValidUser I hope you had a lovely wedding anniversary ☺️

@Larrydavid I wouldn’t worry too much about age as these days a lot of women go on to have healthy pregnancies at over 35. I’m 35 at the mo so I deffo won’t be having a baby now until I’m at least 36 but it’s just the hand I’ve been dealt in life ☺️

@PippaPug I hope you have had the most amazing and memorable wedding weekend lovely!!

@Imjustme2019 I’m doing ok thanks hun just can’t believe we are here again 🙈 just want to fast forward the next few weeks so we can try again 🤞🏻 How are you getting on? I know @ELW85 suggested COQ10 as a good one for the guys to take so I’m thinking of getting my OH to take them!

ELW85 · 21/07/2019 09:21

Morning all!
How's everyone's weekends going? I'm just getting ready to head off and see the MiL for a catch-up, God help us all Grin

@Imjustme2019 - your Ov date can move around quite a lot, but rarely your LP so if you Ov later, maybe you'll have a slightly longer cycle?
Vitamin wise, does he take them on a full stomach, with his main meal? It helps for absorption and it might make him stop feeling as queasy.
The Wellman vitamins are a really good combo, and they have CoQ10 in too.

Imjustme2019 · 21/07/2019 08:43

Morning ladies,

@Lozzlepop, how are you feeling?

@ELW85 so my app now predicts I calculated cd17 my length of cycles are regular, differ by a day or two at most, but my ovulation day seems to move between cd11 and this one CD17, strange, but at least I know so we can time things better.

My DP isn't on any vitamins he finds especially zinc makes him feel sick when taking, he's not the healthiest of eaters, any suggestions?

Anny27 · 20/07/2019 19:43

@ValidUser happy wedding anniversary :) are you doing anything to celebrate?

@LokiCat i am sort of regular. Usually between 28-31 days but have had the odd occasion where i have had a 37 day cycle and as little as a 23. So who knows haha! Ooh yep good that you managed to DTD at the sight of EWCM!

Yep DH said "wow it looks so medical" when he saw the preseed applicators haha!

@maisy24 fingers crossed for shorter cycle next time!
