Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Again sorry for how long that was!!

Definitely read the instructions carefully on the ClearBlue and you’ll be grand - good luck @AllHopeandnoresults

AllHopeAndNoResults · 10/07/2019 19:25

The thing is I just won’t know until I know and it really helps that I have this thread with you guys because it does give me hope when I feel as though I’m giving up.

Thanks guys xx

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut

Thank you for that and for the information, I was actually considering running them both alongside each other as it can’t hurt and can give me a better understanding.

I’m hoping it all means I just haven’t ovulated on the test date and I’m going to be like a mad woman testing every day so at least I know if I do ovulate or not during this month.

Thanks again xx

@tinyole thank you!

I haven’t heard of that book I’ll have a look and see but if you do find anything I’d be very grateful.

I think my moods down after that call because AF is due and I’m just moody I’m starting to see that it actually doesn’t change anything it just gives me a better outlook on it.

Thank you for the support and I totally agree about not being out until in my grave. We are starting to get to the bottom of it (GP and I) which is more than we was doing this time last month 😊 xx

I hope you get success @AllHopeAndNoResults I really do.

At the risk of sounding like a patronising twat though to anyone reading this

don't waste money on internet cheap OPKs.

Running those together with the ClearBlue smiley ovulation sticks gave totally different results; clear blue ALWAYS right.

I don’t work for them BTW but they are worth the money for the certainty of result.

The very very best of luck x

Hi @AllHopeAndNoResults sorry for late reply long day at work only finishing.

I'm sorry to hear your news. I'm afraid I don't have any knowledge or experience with this but it's best not to think the worst until you've got more information. The positive this is at least this has been found out so you didn't waste any time with low progesterone levels. Now you're on the road to finding a solution.

Have you read "Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler? It's a great resource and I've found it really informative. It might help if you feel more in control and can get some reliable information and it's a well known book explaining many aspects of fertility. I got a copy second hand on eBay. I'll have a read to night and see if I can find anything that might be of help to you

Just remember keep your head up. You're not out of the race until you're in the grave!! There's always hope, hang on to it

AllHopeAndNoResults · 10/07/2019 16:51

I have an update and a not very good one.
This could be a bit long so sorry I’m advance just hoping someone might offer advice.

I had a call back from my GP today and she explained that my progesterone levels are low and therefor didn’t ovulate when tested, the other GP that I spoke to never said that at all.

Anyway she’s now booked me in for a pelvic exam and some swabs. I’d asked her if it means I cannot conceive with low levels and she said no it just means I’m perhaps not ovulating when they tested but I’ve read contradicting things.

I am now worried that doing all these things in preparation won’t make one bit of difference if Infact I’m not ovulating.

I don’t know I’m just really disheartened by it now tbh. The GP is really lovely and she’s moved my test date forward and said if we have the same result she will refer me to a gynaecologist which is good but also said as I have 1 DS we will really have to push for fertility treatments if needed as they won’t help.

I just don’t know what to do has anyone conceived with low levels? Is it just a case of catching my ovulation or am I not ovulating? Sorry for the long post x

@tinyole thanks lol at least someone is I think my DP has got closed ears to it atm as I’ve talked non stop.

I’ve gone over the top crazy as if I’m already pregnant, I’ve been hounding him to make a decision on a name (even though I’ve already chosen as said upthread 😂) the way I’ve been acting you would think I was running out of time 😳

According to Ovia I’m due Saturday so we are basically an identical cycle which is exciting! If I was you I’d go by what AVA tells you so Monday?

I think if she hasn’t come by then I reckon you are in for a good chance of getting the BFP eeek!

If not as you say we have SMEP also exciting!

OP posts:
tinyole · 10/07/2019 09:40

@AllHopeAndNoResults haha I appreciate your investment and promise to be as invested in yours!! I'll want all the details.

When is your AF due again? I've got two predictions, one for this Friday from my temping chart and one for Monday from Ava so will have to wait till Monday if hasn't come by Friday before testing again. I've banned myself.

Ready to get going with SMEP either way!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 10/07/2019 09:07

@tinyole 😂😂😂 I think I’m just as invested in your cycle as you!

That’s really good it gave so much info. Do you wear it all day or just at night?

As you said your not out until she rears her ugly head and if she does just remember we have a good plan for this month so don’t get disheartened.

It will be interesting to see how the data proceeds and how accurate it is.

Mumsnet is the devil in the late hours 😂 I’m feeling ok this morning no more or less ‘AF symptoms’ just at a steady level of impending period so I’m sure she will come soon. Xx

OP posts:
tinyole · 10/07/2019 09:01

@AllHopeAndNoResults haha no worries all hours are respectable!! I was actually almost late to work this morning because I spent so much time reading it and looking at the stats. It's really interesting. With only one day of data it's very early days to see how effective it is but love all the info! It says I slept on average 5.5hrs which isn't great so I'm going to try and make sure i get more sleep.

Unfortunately I think AF is on its way but I won't believe it's over until the fat lady sings!! So far though I'm impressed by the info. I know I'm a poor sleeper so this will be great to help me get that back on track. Would also help if I was scrolling through MN on my phone half the night 😂😂

How are you this morning?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 10/07/2019 07:41

@tinyole Morning! I am so desperate to hear about the AVA I couldn’t wait until a respectable time to ask 😂

Hope you had good and accurate results

tinyole · 09/07/2019 23:35

@AllHopeAndNoResults thank you hun! Same for you, I think SMEP is going to a game changer and baby dust is going to be flying around. Sleep well I'll share my first night with Ava in the morning xx

AllHopeAndNoResults · 09/07/2019 23:14

@tinyole Penelope is such a lovely name!

I am the same with not telling real life friends but only because they get sick of me banging on about it and none of them have struggled to conceive so they don’t really get it.

That’s a weird AF symptom 😂 but our bodies do crazy things. I’m not sure what my symptoms are tbh 🤔 only because I kind of forget each month as I’m always symptom spotting!

I actually feel really excited for you and something’s telling me you will get it this month 🤗🤗

OP posts:
tinyole · 09/07/2019 23:09

@AllHopeAndNoResults and to be honest the only symptoms I usually get with AF is mild diarrhoea (sorry TMI) which I haven't had at all so I'm still hopeful. I'm also temping still to compare to AVA so if my temp stays high I'll start freaking out

tinyole · 09/07/2019 23:08

@AllHopeAndNoResults Ava is a great name! Was one of my top but DH didn't like it. We've settled for Penelope if we have a girl.

It totally helps having you all to talk to. I don't really want to tell my close friends as I don't want them constantly asking and my mother would demand daily reports. DH is tired of me constantly reading things and he says I'm getting myself worked up so this is my only outlet!

I'll def keep you updated. How are you holding up? Do you have much support?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 09/07/2019 22:36

@tinyole how exciting that your Ava has arrived. Keep us updated on the results!
It’s weird and I probably shouldn’t out myself to much but I feel like it’s a good omen because Ava is the chosen name IF I ever get my positive and it’s a girl so I get all excited when I see something that relates 😂 sad I know.

Do you feel like AF is due? According to Ovia (which is the app I use btw I forgot to say when asked) I’m due on the 13th so as you can see a long cycle for me 😞

It does help having others in a similar situation to share with doesn’t it?

OP posts:
tinyole · 09/07/2019 22:13

Hi everyone thanks for sharing your stories so far! It's so encouraging and gets me psyched to get going. I've just received my Ava watch and put my stats in and it's predicted AF for Monday while natural cycles predicted it for Friday so now a few more days to wait. I'll be wearing it for the first time tonight very excited to see what stats I get.

I'm CD23 how about everyone else? What do your partners think of it?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 09/07/2019 21:20

@HallowsandHorcruxes sorry to hear that it must have been hard for you.

I agree that at least giving it your all you’ve tried. Hopefully this will be a lucky time round for you. Fingers crossed 🤞 I’m looking forward to all the BFP’s x

AllHopeAndNoResults · 09/07/2019 21:18

@Skyla01 fortunately for DP we are in for a long month of it then 😂

So what’s everyone’s cycle day status??

OP posts:
HallowsandHorcruxes · 09/07/2019 20:52

Hey Smile I'm another big fan of SMEP. Worked for us first cycle last year but unfortunately the pregnancy was ectopic.

My hormone levels finally returned to normal in Feb but my cycles aren't completely back to normal yet. Will be trying the SMEP again this cycle though - I at least feel like if we don't get our BFP, then at least we've done everything we could to try.

Best of luck everyone, my fingers are crossed for you x

Skyla01 · 09/07/2019 20:28

Not at all- I still think smep is a great idea. Just that it's extra hard to keep up all the DTD for a long cycle!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 09/07/2019 20:00

@skyla01 mine are pretty similar to yours so do you not think it’s worth a try for us?

Those type of cycles are the worst aren’t they? Especially when we already have a low chance

OP posts:
Skyla01 · 09/07/2019 19:55

@AllHopeAndNoResults what are your cycles like? I also though about following smep last month but gave up after a while. My cycles since stopping the pill have been 57 then 44 days long- I think a bit too long & irregular for DTD regularly the whole cycle. It would be a great plan to follow for shorter regular cycles though. If my cycles settle down I might try it.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 09/07/2019 19:53

Thank you to everyone sharing. It’s exciting knowing that we are all trying 😊

I do wonder though and would like to hear if ladies with irregular and long cycles found it a success.

You guys all seem to have regular cycles I am kind of slowly losing the hope lol
