Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Again sorry for how long that was!!

@tinyole 😂😂 this is where you buy the whole shelf of tests!

Thing is AF is due tomorrow so you might not get a darker line yet, but I know you must be so anxious to keep testing.

I’m so pleased for you, I don’t want to give my congratulations just yet because I’ve seen all sorts on Mumsnet with faint lines and I don’t want to get your hopes up just incase our line eyes are deceiving us! Hopefully not though!!

Eeeeek this time tomorrow you should know for sure! I am going to be itching to ask you!! Xx

@AllHopeAndNoResults I feel fine! I was feeling terrible this time last week. Loads of nausea and exhausted but it was gone by Sunday and I assumed I just had the flu. Had stomach ache yesterday but I'm slightly lactose intolerant and I had too much dairy so think it was that. Only thing that's different is I feel really sticky below but I think that's the pre-drip sensation you get before AF arrives. I'm heading out to buy more tests I've almost run out 😂😂

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 18:51

@tinyole I had a feeling it was your month 🤗

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 18:49

@tinyole OMG I can see a faint line in the first pic!!

How are you feeling? Xx

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 18:48

@tinyole how are you finding pregnacare? Are you having any side affects? I read somewhere it made pee illuminous 😂 it did make me a bit brighter I must say.

Cutting sugar and weight loss is a good idea @Constance1234 that 5% thing is interesting, do you go to gym?

Sorry to bang on about it BUT I’ve had the thought of this: I apparently have no other issues other than low vit d and low progesterone, both are completely treatable and GP did say she would refer to gynaecologist if needed so there is hope! Sorry just had to get that out there 😂

I also forgot to ask you guys if there was any issues for you? X

Ahhhhhhhh 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

AF is due tomorrow and I've been testing everyday (obsessive I know) and I think I can see I faint line. Please tell me I'm not dreaming. I'm ready for the truth either so don't worry if you can't see it.

If AF doesn't show up tomorrow I'll keep testing

@AllHopeAndNoResults I'm taking pregnacare vitamins which is meant to cover everything we need pre-conception and during pregnancy plus I'm exercising maybe 2 times a week. I'm trying to cut down my sugar intake as a bit of a addict. Sugar is meant to impact egg quality.

@Constance1234 great tip about losing a bit of weight, I'll have a go! I'm trying to keep fit generally and I'm a healthy weight so I'll see if eating a bit better and cutting out sugar can help me loose a bit of weight!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 17:37

@constance1234 hats off to you for being so committed!
Ahh I see, I did think I hadn’t heard to before.

I’m starting to think that I’m putting too much in my body. Was you advised to take vit d or is it because yours is low? Mine apparently is very low.

It’s not looking good for me is it low vit d and low progesterone 😂 do you know any natural ways to up progesterone?

Manuka honey is sooo good for so many things but expensive no? In fact you must spend a lot on supplements! Hopefully you will get your BFP very soon you’ve defo put in the leg work x

OP posts:
Constance1234 · 11/07/2019 17:19

Haha yes I am rattling! I keep them all in the same place so I remember to take them. I’ve been advised to take the aspirin by the consultant I’m seeing as I had a missed miscarriage last month, but I think you should only take this under medical advice as it’s a blood thinner. He also advised the omega oil, high strength folic acid and vitamin d. The rest of the stuff I mostly read about in the book ‘it starts with the egg’. And I was taking the royal jelly and manuka honey when I got pregnant with my son, so I figured I’d give them a go again. You are right there is so much out there, it’s hard to know what will be the most beneficial! x

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 16:41

@constance1234 wow that’s a lot of stuff you’re taking! Has it made you feel a lot more energised? How do you remember to take it all 😂

Aspirin?? I’ve never heard to take this for fertility, what’s the connection and benefits? Are these supplements been recommended to you or have you researched for them? I can’t seem to decipher between what’s good and what’s not, there’s so many things out there?

I was a few months ago taking pregnacare conception then moved on to seven seas trying for a baby. I didn’t think I’d seen a difference since taking them tbh. Is there any one thing you would completely recommend? X

OP posts:
Constance1234 · 11/07/2019 16:36

I am taking loads of supplements at the moment: prenatal vitamin, wheatgrass, inositol, royal jelly, 5mg folic acid, aspirin, CoQ10, omega oil, manuka honey and a vitamin D spray. I’m also on the 16:8 diet and have been losing weight as I’ve read that if you even lose 5% of your weight it can kick your ovaries into gear - something to do with oestrogen x

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 14:22

@Skyla01 my cycle can sometimes go 45/47 so I feel your pain. If you test everyday though surely you will catch it? That’s what I plan to do.

Isn’t it expensive to buy enough of the CB to test everyday?? 😲

I tried, out of interest, the amazon cheapies today and two came back invalid 🤔 so not sure how reliable they are or maybe I got a bad batch.

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 14:19

Also what are we all doing to enhance our chances this cycle?
So we’ve got the plan obviously, we have an AVA, Preseed, CB OPKs. Anything else?
Any vitamins etc? I take folic acid and vit d daily! Any lifestyle changes?
Should I be taking iron too? You guys? X

OP posts:
Skyla01 · 11/07/2019 14:10

This will be my first time using cb. I'll be testing once a day with fmu. I'm a bit worried it might not work perfectly for me as my cycle is quite long and I'm starting testing early so I don't miss anything. But hope it works Ok.

3 BFPs would be great! You guys might overtake me though, despite being on cd13 my last cycle was 44 days long!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 14:07

@Skyla01 most definitely! I’ve decided there isn’t anything I can do that I’m not already. Was going to get progesterone cream but thought I could do more harm than good as I don’t know which one, how much etc so sticking to the plan is the way forward!

I think I’m going to use CB OPK too, how often do you test and do you find they are accurate?
There’s nothing wrong with getting a head start if anything it heightens your chance, and the one good thing about this baby making malarkey is although it’s heartbreaking at time it’s definitely fun practicing and preparing 😉

@tinyole it’s not unfortunate AF is coming ONLY because this time you have a plan to follow for your next cycle so if she really is coming this month then let her hurry up and it’s only a mere 5/7 until you can start your plan.

See it as a refreshing break from the constant worry of trying to conceive. Really relax over this AF and be ready to fight for your BFP next cycle!

It does look like we are all in it together and it’s very humbling isn’t it knowing that there is so many of us in the same boat 🤞 you’re right about the BFPs.

Stay focused ladies as you have both said to me, we are not out of the game yet, and I’m excited and privileged to be able to share my journey with you guys ❤️

OP posts:
tinyole · 11/07/2019 13:37

@Skyla01 @AllHopeAndNoResults looks like we'll all be doing this at the same time so I hope we end up with 3 BFP!!!

tinyole · 11/07/2019 13:35

@AllHopeAndNoResults hey glad to hear you're feeling better today and back to fighting! It's definitely not the end for you so keep peeing on those sticks till you get your BFP!!

I'm doing well today thanks. I think AF is coming for me unfortunately. My temp has started to drop which usually means only one thing so I'm mentally ready and I just want it to come and go now so I can start the next cycle.

I really feel like SMEP could work for us I've seen so many positive stories about it so I'm excited to get going!

Skyla01 · 11/07/2019 11:50

@AllHopeAndNoResults glad you are feeling a bit better! I would stay positive, use opk and follow your DTD plan- you'll be giving yourselves the best chance that way.

I'm going to start using my cb opk from Saturday and we've started DTD every 3rd day. Still got 17 days until predicted ovulation according to Flo but feeling positive this month. It feels good to be following a plan and maximising our chances this cycle.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 09:12

@Skyla01 yes I agree, feeling more positive today. Hopefully you are right and there’s nothing to worry about x

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 09:10

@tinyole thank you, I had a read it just doesn’t say either way does it?
I feel a bit more like I’m not giving up today as I’ve read so many success stories with low progesterone. It’s just finding out if I ovulate.

Even if my 21 day bloods come back as I didn’t ovulate it doesn’t mean I didn’t all month. I’m going to pee on those bloody sticks EVERY day and dtd every other 😂 so I’m still following the plan.

How are you feeling today? Any more symptoms? Your AF is due tomorrow? Do you feel as though she’s coming? How was AVA this morning? Xx

OP posts:
tinyole · 10/07/2019 22:44

@AllHopeAndNoResults I found this, read the second paragraph about progesterone. This doesn't mention progesterone in relation to ovulation though but will have another look tomorrow
Xxx

Skyla01 · 10/07/2019 21:12

@allhopeandnoresults I think it's a great idea to repeat the test if there is any doubt. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about after all.

tinyole · 10/07/2019 21:02

@AllHopeAndNoResults I'm totally obsessed with fertility right now and I listen to a podcast called Fertility Friday and I just remembered the woman on there said she had low progesterone and she used the cream and it helped her. Although her problem was maintaining a pregnancy after inception.

I'll let you know tomorrow if I come across anything xx

AllHopeAndNoResults · 10/07/2019 20:59

@skyla01

Thank you. This is the problem, we don’t know if it was done on the right day so she’s suggested another test on day 21 instead of day 28.

I’m going to OPK everyday and just see if there is an ovulation day. I think now I’m a bit calmer I will continue with the plan. I’ve also read that there’s progesterone creams which I might try.

Hopefully I’ll catch it right x

Skyla01 · 10/07/2019 19:58

@AllHopeAndNoResults really sorry to hear about your results. I'm afraid I don't know much about progesterone levels. Are the blood tests taken on a specific day? Are you sure the bloods were done at the right time? I know it's hard not to worry but I don't think a low progesterone = not ovulating so you're still in with a chance. I would keep going with your plan it can't hurt.
