Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Again sorry for how long that was!!

@VenusStarr how are things moving along for you? I hope you’ve given your reflexologist what for? Have you got any tips for us, did you follow SMEP or modify to suit you? Hope you’re feeling well

@Skyla01 apparently it fits like a tampon and is made from some sort of silicon and you only put it in when sleeping, I think with Ava you only wear at night too, but I know what you mean about it being internal and putting you off.

To both you and @Makingawish I’ve just finished reading an old thread and apparently symptoms don’t really show in the TWW anyway as it’s too early so don’t fret! Obviously people do get symptoms but I don’t think it’s something to worry about, I never had a single symptom with ds!
One day I bit into a chicken bake from Greggs and turned up my nose, gave it to my mum and my Nan said ‘you sure you aren’t pregnant’ and the the rest tells itself but yeah that’s the only thing I had!

You are both still early on so still be hopeful 🤞 you aren’t out until AF arrives!!

And yes I love my motto 😉 although we did rest yesterday, I’m trying not to be too strict this cycle seeing as I gave this month a pass whilst trying to get to know my cycle, if I hound him this early on I may not make it to cycle 2 😂😂

Also I don’t want to tag her as I know she is in Paris but we haven’t had a gin pic so let’s hope tiny got her BFP!!

@Skyla01 I'm 7dpo today and although a few days behind you also not feeling hopeful as I have zero symptoms so I'm convinced there's simply no chance of it happening 😩

Skyla01 · 04/08/2019 09:07

@AllHopeAndNoResults is ovusense the internal thing? I had read about that, it sounds quite good! I'd be slightly put off by its internal nature. But at least it's discrete...! Not sure I would want to wear an ava bracelet all the time in case someone at work etc recognised it. I think if you have irregular cycles a device like one of those would be very useful.

I'm 11dpo today. Had some cramps last week but feeling fine this weekend. Now just waiting for AF to show (or not). Not feeling very optimistic anymore, but time will tell!

How is everyone else getting on? Hope you're having a relaxing Sunday!

Makingawish · 04/08/2019 08:56

@AllHopeAndNoResults "we will rest when I say we can" 😂👏 perfect motto!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 21:33

@Skyla01 I’m not holding out too much hope for this month but I am very crampy today!
We will rest when I say we can 😂
How are you feeling today?

Skyla01 · 03/08/2019 21:08

Oh yeah I forgot about the Agnus castus! Hopefully that will help you in time. You guys are troopers! I think it'll be worth it to keep going for a wee bit though. And then you can enjoy a rest!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 18:47

@Skyla01 I am going to keep going every other day. I know it’s not strictly SMEP but we’ve had a good old try! I’m sure every other day I won’t miss it. I agree that irregular cycles are a trek! It’s comforting to hear that you ovulated later so I’m holding on to that.
Also remember I’m using Agnus Castus this month so that might be doing something who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’ll just dtd as much as possible. My poor DP though, he has been working really long hours as it’s mine and ds birthday month so he is shattered 😂😂

Skyla01 · 03/08/2019 18:34

@OP given that you have longer / irregular cycles I would say cd17 could still be sure early for you. I ovulated cd26 this cycle! I would keep using opk, DTD every other day, and keep watching for more ewcm. You may have just ovulated, but there's also a good chance you haven't yet. I would keep going if I were you, just in case. You could maybe a time frame of like cd30 to stop if you don't have further signs of ovulation. It's a bit of a marathon with longer cycles!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 18:09

@Makingawish right where she belongs!
I’m putting this month as trial and error so I don’t think I’ll be too sad at AF this month. I feel a bit periody today which is weird

Makingawish · 03/08/2019 17:41

@AllHopeAndNoResults you're right! I'm going to put my negative Nancy back in her box!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 17:21

@Makingawish we’ve got a good omen here in the form of VenusStarr so let’s hope you’re the next BFP 🤞

OP posts:
Makingawish · 03/08/2019 17:15

@AllHopeAndNoResults yeah sorry just missed it on your OPK's not missed it completely 🙈 like I said the other day, when following this plan we know we've done enough and that's that really!

I'll find out in a week now anyway 🤷‍♀️

AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 17:13

@Makingawish do you mean missed it on the sticks? Me too tbh I’ve dtd loads though so hopefully haven’t missed it in that sense 🤞

You’d still be a bit early for any symptoms though wouldn’t you? Plus AF feels like symptoms anyway. I know it’s hard but try not to track it and wait as long as you can to test

OP posts:
Makingawish · 03/08/2019 17:01

@AllHopeAndNoResults I do genuinely think you've probably just missed your surge with the OPK's because they can be so fickle. I'm on 7dpo today I think and don't have any symptoms yet so I'm not hopeful. I do feel groggy AF today but don't think that's a symptom!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 15:32

Have any of you ladies tried using OvuSense? I’ve just been reading up about it and really wanted to be sure I’ve read experience with it etc before I posted here for you guys.

I’m actually considering getting one, it’s a lot cheaper than AVA but has just as many positive reviews. I think it’s helpful for those of us who either have irregular cycles, not sure when we ovulate or can’t get the hang of temping and OPKs. Anyone actually used one? Or anyone not using them for a reason?

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 13:43

@Skyla01 CD17 it still seems really early to have ovulated 🤔 any way I will do as you say and just do every other day from now.
I was thinking that I will actually get the digital for next cycle, it seems as though it’ll be a lot easier to read!

I feel like I’ve dtd so much this month so I hope to not have AF arrive 😂 but I’m sure she will and I’ll switch to cb digital and know better for next cycle!

You probably will actually like using preseed.

Sperm Meets Egg (hopefully)

Skyla01 · 03/08/2019 13:35

@OP I think it's difficult to know! Those opk work well for some but I've also heard other people say them struggle to detect a surge with them. If you've done 3 days in s row maybe switch back to every other day for a bit? That will make sure you don't miss it. What cycle day are you on? Have you thought about trying cb digital next cycle? It is much more expensive but seems to give clearer results. I admire your commitment to DTD, sounds a bit exhausting!

Right I'm going to try and move on from the saliva bombshell...! Nothing we can do about it now. If AF shows up next week at least it'll give us something to go differently next cycle, and I will stock up on pre-seed!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 13:20

Btw my Ovia app has updated my calendar to say that I’m in my fertile window now and have been for 3 days! Good bloody job I’ve dtd on all those days already! Well still pending tonight’s.
So if I go by that the tonight is my 3rd day then just one for luck 🤞 but I’m still not getting a good ovulation result on the sticks.

Do you ladies think not to pay attention to the sticks and I might have just poas at the wrong times and missed the surge? Am in the SMEP now??!’ 😂😂

@MrsRubyMonday I meant CD1 sorry!

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 03/08/2019 12:55

@Skyla01 don’t feel silly! It’s just one of those things that you wouldn’t necessarily know unless you were ttc. Sorry for the confusion haha I meant I’d finished day 1 of day 3!

It’s a good idea to stock up

@Makingawish yes I believe it contributed to us too 🤔

@MrsRubyMonday hello, sorry you’ve been going through such a struggle, I defo understand the long and irregular side of things and it can be very frustrating but you seem to be on a very long cycle.
The Norithistherone I’m sure has a big part to play in this, I took them once and it was awful. I don’t have any practical advice but I would just echo what the other ladies have said.
Have you looked into any natural supplements Into making cycles more regular? Also as Skyla said, is there any reason your partner can’t have a pregnancy? Hopefully this is CD10 for you 🤞

OP posts:
Skyla01 · 03/08/2019 11:44

@Makingawish I know I'm surprised too! I've been reading a lot about ttc and had never seen that advice up till now. And here's me thinking we'd been doing everything right! At least it's something to work on for next time.

Makingawish · 03/08/2019 09:15

Hi @MrsRubyMonday sorry to hear you're having a difficult time! Have you tried using OPK's even throughout your cycle to see if even though you're bleeding pretty constantly, you might still be going through the usual cycle of ovulating midway through? I'm fortunate to have pretty regular cycles so apologies if that's a ridiculous suggestion!

Makingawish · 03/08/2019 09:13

@AllHopeAndNoResults congratulations on your achievement 😄👏 @Skyla01 I didn't know about saliva being a sperm killer either! I'm shocked by it tbh because I'd have thought it was the most natural lube. I know normal lube is a killer so I do think that might contribute to our first couple of cycles.

Skyla01 · 03/08/2019 08:46

@AllHopeAndNoResults @Makingawish I feel a bit stupid now not knowing about the saliva thing. Some lube is def a good idea when you're trying to DTD every 5 minutes! I'll stock up on some preseed for next cycle (If I need to... although now I'm worried we killed off all the sperm!!).

@AllHopeAndNoResults there are different phases?! Or do you mean you're finishes the lots of DTD part?

@MrsRubyMonday sorry to hear about your irregular cycles. That must be really frustrating. I'm surprised that there isn't an underlying cause for it all. Hope you don't mind me asking, but is there a reason your OH can't have a pregnancy?
