Positive test but I’m bleeding

I started bleeding a week after my period finished today which was weird so I took a test and for the first time in my life, it was positive. Obviously I then immediately took about 40 more tests Blush

I’ve attached my Flo app screen which is accurate and I know I ov’ed on the 5th because I tested.

WTF is going on and why am I bleeding? Am I early miscarrying? Sad

Bleeding is when I wipe and there was a little bit of cramping earlier. My period on the 17th- 20th was completely normal.

Do I need to call 111?

@Norrisskipjack no words of advice but I just wanted to wish you all the best, those tests look really strong so hoping that's positive news and everything is ok, try and rest as much as you can 💐😘

Thanks, my main worry is an ectopic since they can be quite dangerous from what I’ve heard. I’m not in any pain though so fingers crossed.

It’s lovely to hear positive stories, really helps settle my head!

Wishing you all the best for your scan tomorrow. To prepare you, the early pregnancy unit may raise the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy and want to test your hcg levels over 48 hours to see if they a are rising normally - if they are unable to confirm that the pregnancy is developing correctly from a scan.

I experienced similar symptoms earlier this year - had what I thought was a normal period but it stopped for a few days and then started again. Unfortunately it did turn out to be ectopic but that’s doesn’t necessarily mean it will be same for you. Some bleeding and cramping in pregnancy can be normal.

In wouldn't mess around with your cervix that will cause some irritation.

I didn't know I was pregnant with DS1 until 12 weeks because I could have swore I had period Type bleeding.

DS2 I bleed a lot first trimester (and every other trimester) he's just turned 1 yesterday.

I'm pregnant with #3 now and I bleed after my positive test no reason for it just happened. Had a few other small bleeds ... currently 20 weeks all looking good. Sometimes bleeding just happens (including clots) could mean you have a haematoma or something or just be one of those things.

Also line test darkness isn't always the best indicator as it depends what time of day etc. If it's positive its positive.

Hopefully your scan can tell you more

I’m trying not to test today and will test again tomorrow morning and compare line strength again.

Trying to adopt a ‘whatever will be will be’ mindset but it’s hard going. I have no symptoms other than my boobs feel swollen today and all I want to eat is fruit Confused

I can’t know anything until Monday, so it’s a bit like schrodinger’s foetus at the moment.

The bleeding has stopped and from what I can feel my cervix is closed and high, but I’m not sure Blush

Argh. If anyone has some words of wisdom I could really use some Sad

I had a “period” which lasted about 2 weeks. It was strange, but didn’t even think I was pregnant. I only tested when I was feeling exhausted and nauseous, I was 9 weeks by that point! I’ve got everything crossed for you. I continued to have sporadic bleeding throughout pregnancy and each time I was very worried, but doctors weren’t concerned.

Ok, so the bottom test is from this morning and the rest are yesterday. The line has definitely gotten darker again, that’s good right??

I’ve passed a couple of clots today (tmi) they were stringy and brown and one of them had a hard, ligament type thing in it about half an inch long. It was about 2mm thick. I’m terrified that that was the baby Sad

I haven’t bled that much in all and haven’t cramped much today, but it’s not looking good is it?

Still getting BFP’s and clear blue still says 2-3 weeks but I’m losing hope Sad

I think my last period might have been the miscarriage (so 17th - 20th June), the bleeding was heavy for 2 days and then tailed off like a normal period would. Then last nights bleeding was spotting following that?

I don’t see how a pregnancy could have survived the heavy bleeding so soon after conception iyswim.

This pregnancy is so absolutely and profoundly wanted, we’re terrified to be hopeful Sad

To be honest, it sounds hopeful in your situation. Some women have bleeding and if you continued with you pregnancy even through your last period, I would be likely to keep my fingers crossed and be quietly excited. Bleeding can be normal for some women in pregnancy.

They’ve said I don’t need to panic and they’ve said to take more pregnancy tests between now and Monday. I’m going for an early scan at 9am on Monday morning.

Properly freaked out. Has anyone had bleeding and had a positive outcome?

Well I’m certainly pregnant. EPU tomorrow for an early scan, OOH GP thinks I’m about 5 and a half weeks by his reckoning Confused

Bleeding isn’t too bad now but the cramping is and it’s one sided so currently at the out of hours GP Sad

My nan had periods in her second pregnancy for about 5 months I think so wasnt even convinced she was pregnant. My auntie is convinced that she was carrying twins but lost one. But bleeding is quite normal in early pregnancy I know my sister had some in her first pregnancy but phone or see GP if worried. Congratulations if it is a BFP!!! xx
