7th month TTC

Hello,

I’m in my 7th cycle of ttc No1 and feeling slightly impatient, I’m 27 and I get a positive OPK every month, get ovulation pains and have a very regular 28 day cycle.
I do feel positive that it will happen and I don’t feel too upset, I guess I’m just feeling slightly impatient and possibly a wee bit worried.
Has anyone got positive stories of conceiving after 6 months of trying? Is this normal?

Thank you!

Hi, success story here we conceived naturally after 2 years TTC and 3 months before we were due to start IVF - we now have a healthy 8 week old baby girl 🙂
I know it’s hard but try and stay positive xx

Anonymous987 · 05/02/2023 19:45

It really is! I’m trying to conceive number 2 and feel very stressed most days! Been trying for 9 months so trying not to get too worried yet but do get concerned about what the ideal age gap looks like!

Anonbaby · 05/02/2023 18:43

@Anonymous987 i actually have 2! They were 1.5 and 4 when we started trying. Considering IVF but the thought of it feels stressful when we have had two conceived without any issues! It’s mind blowing isn’t it x

Anonymous987 · 05/02/2023 18:02

Oh no @Anonbaby. so sorry to hear that. How old is your first? You thinking of considering ivf?
@LondonladyTTC great news! Congratulations!

Anonbaby · 05/02/2023 16:59

@Anonymous987 no luck for me. Can’t believe I posted on here in oct 2021 and another 16 months has gone by. Looks like it’s month 23 now then! I have lost count. Secondary infertility for us x

LondonladyTTC · 05/02/2023 16:56

Hi @Anonymous987
Sorry to hear you are going through a long TTC process. It's so stressful and wishing you success soon.
I went ahead with IVF in January last year which was successful and now have three month old for three other embryos in the freezer for for the next if we have trouble again.

Anonymous987 · 05/02/2023 10:01

Hello just wondering if anybody ended up getting pregnant as in the same situation now! Would be lovely to hear a reassuring story x

lilrosemarie · 18/02/2022 13:51

Oof, I’m way past 7 month now and we’re still trying. I’m two days late this month and just got two evaps on pregnancy tests today so it gave me false hope :( Will try again in two days if AF doesn’t show.

@goingcrazyttc where are you in your cycle?

goingcrazyttc · 18/02/2022 13:46

Hi there

I just wondered if anyone else was still on this thread and how everyone was getting on.

I am in my 7th month ttc. I keep thinking each month that it can take up to a year and maybe this month will be the one buts hard. I'm 35 and feel time is not on my side.

LondonladyTTC · 16/10/2021 16:22

@Hoping43 sorry to hear that you are also experiencing TTC stress. Wishing you all the best and my fingers are crossed for you!

Hoping43 · 16/10/2021 13:12

@LondonladyTTC thanks so much for replying. I’m in a completely different situation to you as I already have two children and I’m trying for a third. I was reading the thread last night and wondered how you had all got on.

I’m on my 7th month TTC and worrying about other stuff such as secondary infertility after having a c section.

It’s such a tough journey and doesn’t get any easy second or third time around!!

LondonladyTTC · 16/10/2021 09:45

Hi @Hoping43
Sadly no success story from me yet. I honestly didn't expect it to take this long and I can't believe that this thread was back in March and I was feeling hopeful back then and now we are in October 😂
TTC update:
Since March, I continued at Fertility Plus for a while doing cycle tracking and ovulation but found it all a bit too stressful in June and stopped completely, deciding to go to my GP for investigations since a year had been a gone.
In order to be referred to the fertility clinic, I needed to have cycle day 3 bloods and a pelvic scan and only just got the pelvic scan last week so have a follow up appointment with the GP next week to discuss the results and sent off the referral, probably to Homerton Hospital.
DH and I decided that depending on the estimated waiting time for treatment (we are expecting it to be long), we will likely go ahead with private IVF in January at ABC IVF as we thankfully meet the criteria and their price is lower than comparable clinics (definitely lower than Fertility Plus!). We are allowed three cycles on the NHS where we live and they do count Private ones so if we could technically have a private cycle while we wait for the NHS one and if it fails, the NHS cycle would be treated as the second cycle.

Hope all ok with everyone else, and that you have a better success story than mine!

Hoping43 · 15/10/2021 21:35

I just wondered if anyone had any updates on this thread?

LondonladyTTC · 16/03/2021 21:50

Sorry sent too soon!

I have been really happy with Fertility Plus so far. I have heard that a lot of doctors don't take luteal phase defects seriously so I am very pleased mine has been treated so quickly ☺️

LondonladyTTC · 16/03/2021 21:47

@CitylifeTTC that's great that pcos won't impact anything as you are ovulating normally. DH has definitely had some months of feeling the pressure too, and I have heard so many people talking about impacts to libido so seems to be very normal- it only takes one sperm ☺️ recently, I have found not mentioning DTD in the context of conceiving helps, and making it well and truly about pleasure so that it is just like our sex life perks up a bit over fertile week but not in a 'we better do it as much as possible in order to have a baby' way. It is so hard. We have also had to try and spice things up to get through it! 😂

CitylifeTTC · 16/03/2021 21:23

@LondonladyTTC they said that the pcos appearance shouldn't affect my fertility since I have a regular cycle. Most woman who struggle to conceive with pcos don't ovulate (I believe). So it sounds like I may have unexplained problems or it's just taking longer than I anticipated so I should just be more patient haha. We can only DTD twice max over the fertille window, I would like to do it more to increase chances but my husbands libido has completely nose dived since we started ttc! That's great you are back on a normal cycle with longer LP and hopefully you conceive within the next few months Smile I'm on cycle day 25. have you been pleased with the service so far at Fertility Plus?

LondonladyTTC · 16/03/2021 08:38

Welcome @CitylifeTTC , sorry to hear that you are also experiencing the stresses of TTC. It is great that you have had a full suite of tests and so far all looks ok apart from pcos appearances- did they say this was likely causing you problems despite your regular cycles? I have a short LP, but after receiving treatment from the Fertility Plus clinic which included progesterone pessaries, this was normal last cycle. I am now on CD7 so approaching fertile week and having another cycle tracking scan on Friday. I had such high hopes for last cycle given it was the first one on treatment but I need to remember that even with a regular luteal phase there is only a 25 percent chance every month. DH has not yet had a sperm analysis but is booked in for the beginning of April. Where in your cycle are you at the moment? I totally agree about it being lonely without the distraction of everyday life and being stuck at home with a cupboard full of tests and OPKs it is hard to forget about TTC. It also feels hard to be able to make plans for after lockdown and get excited about potential holidays as I don't know how pregnant I will (hopefully) be. Don't want to end up not planning anything and not being pregnant either though! Job wise, I am doing a similar thing, not moving as I know I want to be pregnant immediately but also need a change. Argh.
Wishing you a lovely day! ☀️

CitylifeTTC · 15/03/2021 20:55

Hi ladies, I thought I would introduce myself! Your posts have been so comforting to read recently. I’ve been TTC for the last 7 months, did a fertility MOR November 2019 before even starting to ttc (too organised lol) at the London women’s clinic in London Bridge, scans came back fine apart from ovaries with polysistic appearances. Regular cycles even though I have pcos, semen analysis was fine too. I wasn’t expecting it to take so long and it’s so lonely during lockdown ttc when lots of my friends seem to be getting pregnant straight away. I’ve had my bloods taken for hormone tests on Saturday and have a telephone apt booked in with ARGC in a couple of weeks. How’s everyone doing?

hopefully2021 · 09/03/2021 08:22

@LondonladyTTC I'm sorry to hear that, I just wish someone would have told us how emotional & lonely this journey would be before we all started on it Sad Did you end up talking to your mum about TTC?
Don't be too harsh on yourself, your body may need a few months with the injections - but if you are on 14 DPO your LT has increased then hasn't it which is a major positive Smile
The semen analysis is always a good idea as you shouldn't assume it's all you! I've read stories of men who just weren't producing any sperm so when I got my OH's back I was just relieved that he had swimmers Wink xxx

LondonladyTTC · 09/03/2021 07:36

A little update from me, bfn today at 14dpo Sad feeling so deflated after having been so positive about this cycle. Onto next month of the same thing (ovitrelle injection and then progesterone). Going to start the morning with a relaxing bath, and then try and pamper myself all day (in between working) to cheer myself up.
Also booking DH in for a semen analysis to find out if he also need to go on a sugar free diet Grin

LondonladyTTC · 06/03/2021 08:24

@hopefully2021 sorry to hear that AF turned up and that it's extra painful.

I took a FR test this morning and BFN at 11/12 dpoSad had such high hopes for this cycle but going to try and stay positive as still have a few days of progesterone to take and I know that implantation can happen up until 11dpo.

I think I will probably call my GP in May too as that will be exactly a year since I had my implant removed.

CatrinaTah · 05/03/2021 07:40

Thank you for your reply, fingers crossed for you it happens. Patience isn’t my strong point lol xx

hopefully2021 · 05/03/2021 07:32

@CatrinaTah Hiya, unfortunately not for me but fingers crossed soon Smile

hopefully2021 · 05/03/2021 07:31

@LondonladyTTC
Morning & Happy Friday! My AF showed up first thing this morning so now I'm sitting here with the most awful cramps Angry Thank you, I just hope that I have good quality eggs amongst them though, I just keep thinking of that saying 'quality over quantity' lol...
If's definately worth getting him checked too so at least you can pinpoint where the issues are, at least for us I know it's a combination of both and there's not much I can do about my PCOS so it's really down to him to try and make some improvements I have said I'll cut down on my sugar intake (I love chocolate!) whilst hes cutting back on the smoking and drinking so we share the pain together lol Smile
When are you thinking of calling your GP to get on the waiting list? I'm thinking to do mine in a couple of months, around May time xxx

CatrinaTah · 04/03/2021 21:55

I’m Justin wondering if anyone managed to get pregnant I’m in the exact same position and hoping one of you will come have a positive story
