AND.... the babies seem to sleep through from day 1, how true to life is that...NOT

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:32

i know aitch. im just so outraged tho!!! they messed up the PND storyline... now this...

but i refuse to be jealous of a fictional character.

unless its Scarlett O'Hara.

it really hurts, doesn't it? which is, you'd have to admit, crackers... because it's made-up. but it still hurts. weird.

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:29

and you can wear white jeans straight after!

Its the same as Holby city when they have shown patients having c-section by GA and they are sat up within 30 mins. DS1 was born by emergency c-section under GA, there was no way I could talk sense let alone sit up within 30 mins!!!

wibbles · 27/07/2007 22:27

Sorry gotta go...going to start a "looking for homosexual with turkey baster" thread.

You just watch there'll be a BFP heading my way in about 3 days and a scan in about 5 days.

Watch this space........

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:20

it was ridiculous!

toytownmum · 27/07/2007 22:09

Hi

Didn't watch tonights as I was working, guess it was more far fetched than Wednesdays

Keep smiling girls and don't let the buggers get you down

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:06

i mean, we didnt even see her charting, checking dates etc.... all those things most women do.

wish soaps would do a realistic fertility storyline.

plus, she got a scan straight away. i was told to wait til i was 6/7w, so they could see something!

OP posts:
lissie · 27/07/2007 22:04

lol, i ranted to MiL about it too. do your research corrie!

OP posts:
wibbles · 27/07/2007 22:00

And all that him offering and oh I'm ovulating today shite.

FGS

I ranted to my MIL about it - that's how bad it is.

If I wasn't so sad I would stop watching corrie on principal....instead I think I'll just Sky+ it and fast forward through Violet.

lissie · 27/07/2007 21:56

lol, i know. she's what? 5w since lmp? i want the soap script-writers to rewrite my life!

OP posts:
wibbles · 27/07/2007 21:54

I knew there would be a message about this!!!

She has just had a scan at 3 weeks and seen a heartbeat. That's surely not right.

I genuinely feel jealous.

Why did I pick a hetrosexual man to try and get me pregnant the usual way...how foolish of me. If only I'd known a couple of shots with a turkey baster and I'd be sorted I would have made a different choice.

lissie · 26/07/2007 15:47

and the first inkling anyone has in soapland that they're pg is severe ms, but only til they get a BFP

toytownmum · 25/07/2007 21:31

Hi Lissie

Followed your story from afar and my heart went out to you. Both tv and real life are sometimes so harsh, I was preg with twins, I found out DT2 had died in the womb and then the next day DT1 was born within about 10mins of nearly passing away (heart rate dropped to 60) at 29 weeks - he is 3 and fine now. The next year my sister fell preg with twin boys and all went well, whilst I love my nephews it was very hard to deal with. Who would have odds two sisters both falling preg with twins

Take care

TTM x x

MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 21:24

I suppose it just doesn't make very interesting tv, watching a woman recovering for weeks on end, but I still think Violets EP was particularly badly portrayed.
Fifi - give us a shout if you decide to go to Greenwich park with the boys. Not a lot of minding for me this holiday, but me & dd can meet you anyway. She'll do all the work, she's 11 and loves it! We'll sit in the cafe and drink tea!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:18

lissie- i agree, its always so dramatic, when my bf had a mc she carried on working and i was shocked because i had seen mc's only happen on tv!

(shes a nanny like me, and believe me the only time you can NOT go into work without feeling like youve let them down is if youre paralised.)

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:16

Hi mo!

Im doing good, cronic back ache and shattered!

Been so busy with the bananas my lovely, that im restricitng my times on here (hence being on tonight) I didnt go in to the staff room because i thought everyone would be gone!

Big wave/hugs xx

Holby,corrie,enders,hollyoakes..blimey theres no escape!!!!!!

lissie · 25/07/2007 21:15

i always find the portrayal of pg loss v unrealistic. if a woman mc's she collapses and is rushed to hospital instead of being told to come in 5 days later for a scan and sitting at home with paracetamol and a box of tissues

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 21:05

Holby City was the worst for ectopics! There was at least one a week, when I was trying to get over 2 in six months! I guess, hospital programmes weren't really the thing to be watching though! Fifi - didn't you used to be part of the staff room gang! How ya doin'?

onlyjoking9329 · 25/07/2007 21:02

it is hard when you have an EP, everyone in the world seems to be PG
i had an EP and lost a tube but was PG with twins within 2 months, my girls are 13 now.
wishing you luck.

lissie · 25/07/2007 21:02

really! AAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH why cant they show FTC without the woman going nuts and trying to buy babies?
