Been told to 'expect the worst'

So ....by my last period (23.04.19) it puts me at 8+3 weeks pregnant we paid for an early scan last Sunday and she said I was measuring at 5+5 there was a sack and a yolk but no fetal pole or heartbeat, told me to go back in 2 weeks,

We went for another scan today at a different place and she says it doesn’t look good as I’m still only measuring 5+6 she said there is a fetal pole still no heartbeat and to expect the worst and she’s referring me to EPU Monday morning and looks like I have a little bleed just above the sack

Has anyone else had this??
It's going to be a long wait until Monday, so I loose all hope completely!?
I don't know what to do ...
I just feel hopeless ....

To make things worse I've just started with bad morning sickness, she said because the sack is growing I will still experience symptoms as normal 😞
Finding this really hard to take in

tell you

LouH1981 · 22/06/2019 09:27

Oh I’m so very sorry. Yes, I’m afraid I had an early scan at 6 weeks and they could only see a yolk sac, I went back at 8 weeks, saw a heartbeat but still only measuring at 6 weeks. Sadly, as @sillysmiles said, I had no idea really what this meant until a midwife said ‘what will be, will be’. I miscarried at 9 weeks (by their dates, 11 weeks by mine).
But again, for as many m/c stories I read, I also read stories of hope where baby caught up.
Also, a year later, I fell pregnant again and at 6 weeks had a small amount of fluid which they thought was a burst cyst and had disappeared two weeks later. I am now 17 weeks pregnant.
Each pregnancy is different. Try to concentrate on what the professionals tell. If the worst does happen, Tommy’s and the Miscarriage Association have some wonderful people at the end of the phone of you need a little extra support. Fingers crossed for you lovely lady xxxxxxx

Sadly you’ve experienced a missed miscarriage. Unfortunately very common

sillysmiles · 21/06/2019 23:26

Unfortunately yes. First scan at 7 weeks and there was a heart flicker but fetus was measuring 5 days behind, second scan at 9 weeks no heartbeat and fetus had stopped growing. Currently going though a medical miscarriage.

That said, after my first scan I googled and there were loads of people who had measured behind and gone on to have healthy pregnancies.
But I went into my second scan only vaguely recognising that things might not work out ok.

Oh @SamRwl I'm so sorry you're going through this. I have no experience of this, but my thoughts are with you. Sending lots of love & luck your way x
