TTC First Baby Thread 20

Morning ladies, strange question from me today.
Period 2 days late so tested yesterday... We got a bfp!! Here's the thing...
OH sat on the bathroom floor with me and said let's test again when my period is a week late because we've been late before and he desperately doesn't want to get our hopes up whilst smiling ear to ear.

So are false positives not uncommon? Waiting till Friday is so hard!!!

Morning ladies, how’s everyones weekends going? We went out with friends yesterday for some beer garden action and we had such a good time ☺️ Was nice to just go out, chill and have some drinks 🥂 woke up feeling fresh today and planning a chilled day!

I hope everyone is doing ok? I need to catch up, have there been any more bfps?

I saw the fertility consultant on Friday and the good news is he said there is no reason he can see why I wouldn't get pregnant. I have a giant cyst on one of my ovaries which I am hoping is just temporary but he is going to rescan me soon to check it disappears, he told me to stop taking all the supplements bar my pre-natal vitamin and fish oil. I was taking Agnus castus and he actually said that it actually can make you less fertile and could be what is causing the cyst🤦🏼‍♀️ He is sending DH for another sperm test, and told me to ditch the charts and opks and just Dtd either everyday or every other the two weeks around ovulation and particularly when ewcm. It feels good to have someone else in charge of it all now!

Hi @Lottiepink doing ok here. AF has finished which is good. Went out last night can't remember the last time I went out had such a laugh as well. Couple of down days this week but I accept these will still happen and I'm now just concentrating on making sure I try and peek myself up.

Just marking my place. Sorry I haven't really contributed recently, been really busy with work etc, and with upping the gym and more 6.15am starts it's left me tired on a night. Feel loads better for it though, and I think my body is now getting used to the mornings 😊

Temps confirmed today I'm actually 3dpo so dtd was actually timed well, yay!!! I've been feeling sick this whole bloody cycle, so annoying. I think it could be stress related I hope it goes in the tww or I'll only get my hopes up. Anyone testing this weekend?

@ just a rubbish day at work so I’m glad it’s the weekend! Good stuff keeping up SMEP we DTD last night and the night before so tonight I may pick sleep 😂😂

@ELW85 I’ve been fine every other cycle but last nights one was almost positive then today’s one was lighter so guessing my surge was this morning! Yeah I think some chill out time is needed after this week!

@orangeloo - sorry I totally just realised I missed your post when I clicked the last page accidentally!
The doc was saying that the clinic investigate two things in women who struggle to conceive; the first being if they ovulate (my blood levels confirmed I do) and the second being that the tubes are ok.
So I think it’s just the way they approach it :)

I went for CD3 bloods today that’ll give a view of my ovarian reserve etc so fingers crossed that comes back in good shape next week!

@Lozzlepop - sorry to hear you’re feeling crap. OPKs are a tricky thing to judge sometimes. I hope you get to a beer garden! A couple of drinks tonight with DH has done me the world of good :)

I'm so confused about my ov date - I seem to be getting no build up on my clear blue opks- going to keep going with the every other day DTD though. Determined to stick to it! Until I'm exhausted anyway. I'm planning on doing some work and fixing up the garden tomorrow

@ValidUser definitely going to try some acupuncture- trying to find one near me. Heard lots of people say good things. Glad you're feeling a bit better after it!

I’ve had such a crap day today I’m so glad to be home and on the sofa- OPK lighter again tonight but had some pains earlier so think it’s OV, not sure if I’ve got it in me to DTD tonight 😴 out for drinks tomorrow so hoping it’s a nice day and that we can head to a beer garden! What’s everyone’s weekend plans? Xx

DH has sprung a date night on me so I’m super excited :) steak here we come!!

@Larrydavid - the doc just said that risk of complications go up quite steeply after 35 and your chances of conceiving go down to about 60% in 12 months, so to get pregnant before then.
I’m 34 (Feb) so have some time, but not all of the time in the world!

So jealous of your Glasto trip...not so much the tent sex, haha!

@XjustagirlX I'm somewhere between 4 and 6 dpo I think. Didn't get a positive on OPK at all but temp is up so who know!! Don't feel too disheartened. I remember feeling so crap the first couple of cycles that I didn't get pregnant but much more chilled now weirdly!

So daft symptoms spotting today, on prep for holiday went for bikini wax and have epilated legs and underarms. It was no where near as sore as normal. Boobs a bit tender too but that seems to be a new pre-AF thing for me there days.

@Larrydavid yeah my mum has been to one so have gone to the same one. Need me there is also a natural fertility clinic so can go there for massages/reflexology and acupuncture as well. Xx

@PippaPug When are you getting married? It can be hard seeing everyone else getting pregnant but hopefully it'll happen for you without too much of a wait!

@XjustagirlX sorry you had a hard time last month - it's amazing how disappointing AF can feel. I haven't had them for 15 years and just remember when I did, always feeling relieved when I got my period! Little did I know how bloody complicated ttc actually is. School teachers would have you believe that just looking at a boy would get you preggers! I'm on cycle day 12. Still no high fertility. Fingers crossed ov comes soon!

I'm continuing with SMEP - still no flashing smiley so I think I'm going to have to get creative in a tent in a field at glasto 😬
We're also starting to plan the wedding - with absolutely no commitment on timelines just yet. It's tricky with our parents asking us for wedding dates (why does everyone do that?!) they obviously have no idea that we have other conflicting priorities right now! Fun times.
