Not testing until July

Anyone want some support in holding off with taking pregnancy tests?

My AF is due Tuesday 25th June but I will hold off on testing for two reasons... To avoid disappointment, and also because I have probably got a job interview the following week so would prefer to focus on that before finding out.

To anyone who joins... When is your AF due? And when will you test?

I will probably test on 1st July if no AF has shown up by then.

@mumof1hants totally understand. Try not to worry (easier said than done, I know!)

I'm going to test on Monday, so we could be testing buddies if you can hold out until then! You could joing too, @mrssunshinexxx. Welcome!

mrssunshinexxx · 26/06/2019 20:59

Please can I join

Af due sat going to test 1st July hope we get lots of bfp on this thread

mumof1hants · 26/06/2019 20:57

I'm not sure I can face bfn though... I'm torn really. And then I'd be wondering if the result was correct. Basically need to ride out the next few days I guess x

Bezalelle · 26/06/2019 20:52

@mumof1hants could you take a test, to put your mind at rest one way or another? I think they work several days before AF is due xx

mumof1hants · 26/06/2019 20:44

@Bezalelle well the apps I use say anytime between tomorrow & Sunday but I think more likely monday... I've convinced myself it'll be bad news for some reason x

Bezalelle · 26/06/2019 20:41

When is AF due, @mumof1hants?

mumof1hants · 26/06/2019 20:26

I'm struggling today. Convinced AF is on her way... I don't even really know why. Had a few cramps this morn but they went... x

Bezalelle · 26/06/2019 20:24

Enjoy your chocolate @ChikiTIKI!

I've been ravenous today. Literally eating all the food. Still 8 days until AF is due, but feeling moody, bloaty, and hungry. Really hope it's not AF making a surprise early appearance. I'm usually regular as clockwork so this is unlikely.

ChikiTIKI · 26/06/2019 19:13

I'm alright thanks @Bezalelle I am jealous of your nap :) had awful heartburn and feeling rubbish this afternoon again, had the same yesterday. I swear my boobs feel different. They always hurt before AF but this feels different.

No idea what to think though. AF could show up any time I suppose.

Going to have some chocolate tonight :) DH is going to the shop. Think I will ask for chocolate rather than a pregnancy test!

That's good you're working from home. Commuting and being around other people is not fun when you're tired! Xxxx

How are you feeling, @ChikiTIKI?

I was really tempted to test today, even thought I've promised myself that I'll wait until Monday (AF due Wednesday). My boobs feel really big today, and I've been exhausted. Just woke up from a two-hour nap (thankfully working from home at the moment).

ChikiTIKI · 26/06/2019 07:00

Still no AF.... Don't remember having any weird dreams last night though :(

OP posts:
ChikiTIKI · 25/06/2019 20:37

Don't tempt me @mumof1hants !!! :)
I believe AF was due today, if in line with my last two cycles which were each 30 days. So would be4/5 days late at the weekend.

I always do tests on my own without telling DH first. I could test on Saturday morning while he is at work then spend the morning coming up with a fun way to tell him (if it's positive) or break tradition and have him be there and do it on Sunday morning.

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if it's positive. I got pregnant with our DD on the first month of trying but this time we are a year in to trying and I had a MC in December. I would love to put her in a "big sister" tshirt and wait for him to notice! Or maybe that's too ambitious to find at short notice. Could do it later on when we tell family I suppose.

Aah the TWW is very clearly getting to me!!!! Xxxx

@ChikiTIKI I'm exactly the same! I'm 14/15dpo on Sunday so easily enough to get a true result... I will try and wait it out but we'll see! What will u be? Just cos u started a thread doesn't mean it's a crime to do it before... we're all on the TTC journey together and totally understand the strains and challenges! X

ChikiTIKI · 25/06/2019 20:19

@mumof1hants this is what's spurring me on... I like looking at photos of other people's squinters but it's no fun when it's my own. I'd rather wait until it will show up clear as day, if I can be patient enough! I feel like I have to wait until Monday since I stated this thread but am quite tempted to test at the weekend so I don't have to go to work straight after. I'm already talking myself out of being patient now!!

Sorry to hear some of you are struggling/upset... I can feel myself starting to get grouchy & irritable. I know it's all down to the TWW. I have 4 days until AF is due (altho FF says 2 days?!) and I have zero symptoms of AF or pg. Had a bit of a stabbing pain & then dull ache down low yesterday but that's it. I think getting through the next few days and go monday is going to be a massive struggle! I just want to know!!!

On the flip side tho last month I tested at 11dpo & the result wasn't clear which tortured me more & resulted in me buying several brand of tests to basically confirm a negative result. What a wally! X

ChikiTIKI · 25/06/2019 17:45

@Bezalelle oh dear sorry to hear you're emotional! I had to hold back the tears yesterday but it was tears of rage I think!!

OP posts:
Bezalelle · 25/06/2019 17:02

@ChikiTIKI I'm feeling really nauseous as well - 10 days until AF is due. Really bad mood swings too. I was so emotional earlier, I started crying as I was folding the laundry...

ChikiTIKI · 25/06/2019 16:44

Still no AF... Feel sick today and got awful heartburn at the moment.

Anyone else got any new symptoms? Xxx

OP posts:
ChikiTIKI · 25/06/2019 07:32

No sign of AF yet although I had a dream that AF arrived!

Got annoyed about something at work yesterday and so that's been a helpful distraction.

July seems so far away!!

OP posts:
ChikiTIKI · 24/06/2019 22:14

My AF is due tomorrow. I reckon it will come. Best go to bed and see what tomorrow brings I suppose.

I had more vivid dreams last night. Feeling a bit sick again today too. Yawning a lot and burping a bit too ( gross) .

My belly looks bigger... Obviously this couldn't be pregnancy related yet. Probably due to how much I ate on holiday!

aprilclimbs · 24/06/2019 13:08

Oops I clicked reply too soon 🤦‍♀️ I too am feeling a little nauseous but I may just be hungry. I have also had bad bowels (sorry tmi) I have been getting some bad tummy ache and needing to go to the toilet a lot.

That sounds really promising, especially if it was a sign for your mum too!

aprilclimbs · 24/06/2019 13:06

@Bezalelle awh I hope the train ride isn't too long for you!

Bezalelle · 24/06/2019 12:51

That is such a funny dream, @aprilclimbs! I can't remember exactly what mine was about, but it left me with a really weird feeling!

Currently on train back home after a couple of weeks with DP (living apart at the moment due to work, which isn't exactly ideal for TTC) - I'm boiling hot and nauseous, but it could just be the weather.

Mother just messaged me to tell me what her early symptoms were when she was pg, which was interesting. She went off coffee and tea. I've been off my tea as well, which might be a good sign!

aprilclimbs · 24/06/2019 12:22

@Bezalelle I had had vivid dreams again last night too! I dreamt I took a preg test and it was positive -we'll sort of- this is where the vivid bit comes in there was just purple dye everywhere but I distinctly remembered two lines 😂 I think I'm going mad. How are you?

Bezalelle · 24/06/2019 08:00

Major vivid dreams last night! Plus, for once in my life, I don't want my usual morning cup of tea. This is most unlike me...
