TTC in August Looking for a BFP

Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us looking for a BFP in August. I'm ttc #2. Have a DS of 3.3. I'm current on CD15 - OD day - with a bit of luck. Have been bd'ing like mad over my fertile days and will continue to do so for a few more days yet. Then it will just be the 2ww. Anyone else in situation?

Bellie - great minds think alike

looneytune · 12/08/2007 19:59

Ladylush - thanks, don't feel so silly now And PMSL at the rolling eyes at dh - I've been doing that lots recently!!

Girlycm - I'm ok now, it was REALLY doing my head in when I had the constant metal taste in my mouth as I couldn't possibly NOT think about it, it was always there! But now things have settled down, I'm just thinking my body is doing this because I want it too much etc. and now I've done a few tests, I'm thinking it's not what I want and symptoms have died down. The only things that haven't are the dull ache and of course boobs - these are getting worse though with the spots being more obvious and then today having discharge from one of them! God, all men have to do is squirt their load and see if it was successful, us women have to go through all these odd feelings!!

Upsidedowncake - thanks, you've made me feel a lot better knowing you did lots of tests and then waited a while to get a BFP As for the spotting, I'm so sorry {{{ hugs }}} I'm pleased you are going to the Dr's tomorrow. IF they try and tell you to wait a week or 2 and bed rest and see what happens, DON'T, it'll do your head in, it did me and I don't think that helps at all, more stressed when on bed rest as too much time to think. Just INSIST they do send you for early scan to see what's happening. Fingers crossed it's nothing as lots of people bleed and are fine BUT IF it is bad news, as hard as it is to say this, the earlier you know, the better - believe me!!! Sending positive vibes and hope it's nothing to worry about. Please let us know how you get on! xx

Bellie · 12/08/2007 19:47

oh thinking of you tonight and tomorrow at the docs. They will probably refer you to the EPU although they may also tell you to wait a week.
If they tell you to wait insist on going - they will be able to scan you internally.
As you say it is better to know now

Upsidedowncake · 12/08/2007 19:42

Thanks Bellie.

I do have cramps and it's just like a period though just spotting so far. Have to go to doctors tomorrow and then probably to early pregnancy monitoring unit, or whatever they call it.

I knew it was too good to be true.

If I'm positive, I can focus on the fact that the body miscarries because there's something wrong; so better now than later. Maybe that's why it took 23 days after ovulation to show up.

Bellie · 12/08/2007 19:33

upsidedowncake

have you got cramps too? Fingers crossed it may be implantation bleeding - I had this with dd at about 5 weeks thought that I was having a m/c, but no it wasn't. Hoping it is the same for you.

Upsidedowncake · 12/08/2007 19:29

Hi everyone

LT - I totally empathise with how you are feeling. I went crazy doing pregnancy tests for a week feeling that I was pregnant, and it took ten days before I got a bfp. Boots did rather well out of me though.

Girlycm - I think the advice on sports is not to do anything too strenuous if your body isn't used to it when ttc. Do you like swimming or lovely country walks?

Everyone - Have been bleeding today, am a week late. NHS Direct think it's an early spontaneous miscarriage. Still got a bfp, but am aware that the hormones take a while to get out of your system. Not happy.

Girlycm · 12/08/2007 19:09

lol ladylush

Not sure if you mean in obsessing or over doing every thing.

Any suggestions on sports are best while ttc? I haven't been doing sport for a while as didn't like to leave the house, sorted this out, and now feel there a world I?ve been missing to discover again. Hope it makes sense.

ladylush · 12/08/2007 19:01

You should avoid going mad as it doesn't help when ttc.

Girlycm · 12/08/2007 18:52

HI everyone

Looneytune I am for u does not sound very pleasant. I thought I was having a rough time with just sore boobs

I am still new to all this as i'm on cycle one for first dc. I can not believe how hung up I am getting about it all.

Is there this you should do or avoid doing in the 2ww?

ladylush · 12/08/2007 18:41

LT - can totally understand feeling out of sorts if your body is behaving differently. I think my period has started slowly for so long now that I can't remember when it didn't. Today it is proper flow clots and all so will count today as CD. My dh sounds like yours (bragging about super sperm) so I find myself rolling my eyes a lot.

looneytune · 12/08/2007 17:48

Not sure how long you have been trying for but seriously, I feel like I'm going mad already and it's the first F*ing month!!! Crazy or what!!! I was never like this on other occasions, just got on with it. I'm sure it's down to me finally deciding now's the time and I want it NOW....I'm actually surprised at just HOW BAD I want it! I've promised dh I won't start thinking the negatives about the early menopause possibility etc. I tell you what doesn't help........dh (trying to be funny but in nice way) keeps saying 'oh god, OF COURSE you are pregnant' and then goes on and on about his wonderful sperm!! Bless him, he's a bit full of himself as always conceived straight away in the past so he thinks he's got some kind of super sperm hehe. I wasn't expecting to conceive first time round, with us both being older than we were etc, I was just going to see when it happens BUT then the sicky feeling and metal mouth and all the other things happened and I think that set me off thinking I maybe and then my body produced even more symptoms - body playing tricks!!

Anyway, been on Yahoo Answers (first time ever) and one of the repliers said that she'd got EXACTLY the same symptoms, even down to the watery brownish coloured discharge from her boobs She's due her period today so she's just waiting to see what happens. Odd though.

Anyway, I've thrown myself into 'Mission sort out Ds's behaviour!' and been having long chats with him this afternoon, lots of ignoring him (hard), more chats and that helped (him and me) and we've decided on a sticker chart/pocket money type thing - fingers crossed it helps!!! It's certainly improved my mood, just focusing on ds rather than obsessing!!

And please accept my apolgies about the moaning, I don't feel like I qualify for moaning so much due to it being first month ttc but it's my body that's been annoying me more than anything.

Thanks for letting me rant on here, it really helps to moan away somewhere where it's not at dh iyswim

And I really really hope you both get BFP's soon!!!

LT xx

Bellie · 12/08/2007 16:55

ronshar - you have hit the nail on the head - that is exactly what it is like!

ronshar · 12/08/2007 16:52

You dont. You end up sitting on MN at 2am asking why your AF has turned up again when you have been a really good girl this month and had no fun or happy sex or anything. Only the madness that is TTC.
Good luck to you though hopefully it wont be a long wait for you.

looneytune · 12/08/2007 13:13

why is my body doing this to me!!! GRRRRR!!! Boobs keep tingling inside and this morning had watery stuff come out. I reckon my body must be going through a big change after coming off the pill, pretty sure it's not pg symptoms any more as the sicky feeling and metal taste in my mouth has gone. Oh well, another week and AF should be here if it's the same time as when I was on the pill.

I really really feel for those who've been trying for months and months, how on earth do you cope??!!!

looneytune · 12/08/2007 07:55

Ladylush - thanks, feeling much better now And Happy Anniversary for next Sunday! I'm not sure about the spotting as mine always start properly, is this normal for you? And you bleed that long suppose I'm really lucky but I thought everyone was roughly the same. If it was me, I would probably do CD1 today, presuming fully here now iyswim

Oh, and my ds used to be train MAD too. We went to Legoland when he was 2 and one of the first things we saw was the model village. Once ds saw the huge lego train, that was it, he wanted us to pick it up so he could take it home to play with - total nightmare, big screaming fit when we tried to explain why he couldn't, got so bad we ended up going home!!! Thank god we hadn't paid to get in (soooo expensive) as we'd been given some tickets. But now ds is 4, he's been again and was fine but I'll never forget that day!!!

ladylush · 11/08/2007 23:03

Hi Awen - how was your holiday? Hope you all had a good time.

LT Happy Anniversary Sorry about your bfn but as others have said maybe you are testing too early. I was only pleased to get my period this month because I can now date a future pregnancy.

Tigerschick - are we cycle buddies then? My period hasn't started full flow yet - just spotting (sorry if tmi)so I don't know whether I should count yesterday as CD1 or not. I usually do, but sometimes it means I am still bleeding on CD10.

Happy Anniversary in advance Bellie (in case I forget) Mine is next Sunday so we are going out saturday night if my mum can babysit. Good thing about getting my period is that I can drink without feeling guilty

Libralady - my son is a train fanatic too. Any train, any destination. He is even quite happy to just go down to the station and watch them. Naturally he loves Thomas. Has your ds seen the website? There is a list of all the trains and I was amazed the other day to see that he knows nearly all of their names just from looking at the pictures.

MamaMaiasaura · 11/08/2007 19:57

OMG Congratualtions Scorpio xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx so thrilled for you

Hi ladylush xx Hope you ok, just back from hols, going to get lo off to bed now but will try and pop back to catch up

Bellie · 11/08/2007 16:02

aarrgghhh - just spent over an hour (and a row with dh!) putting together one of those trampolines with handles!! 20 bounces and now she is off playing with the 99p squirter!

looneytune · 11/08/2007 13:48

Thanks, that's what I thought!

Thanks, I intend to!!!

Bellie · 11/08/2007 13:14

rant away !! (better than ranting at Dh on your anniversary!)

Enjoy the rest of the day

looneytune · 11/08/2007 12:39

Cheers Libralady, I suppose I'll just wait and see. I was presuming i ovulated early due to having a mad week of hornyness from about CD6/7 and then the symptoms listed started with queezyness on CD15, dull period pain type feeling from CD18 (still got but not as bad, not that it was actually bad iykwim). But if it's possible to start to feel sick straight away but before it implanted, then you never know I suppose.

Dh has just got back with lovely flowers so I'm snapping out of this now

Thanks for letting me rant and sorry for being a miserable cow!!!

libralady · 11/08/2007 12:30

Hi Looneytune
Sorry you are feeling a bit sad .
Happy Anniversary anyway. With regards to drinking, only you can make the decision, but like others have said, manyn of us have had a drink in the past before we knew we were pg, without any harm coming to it. Only you can make the decision. I think you probably have tested too soon. With over a week to go until af is due. Having done some reading on conception, although this happens usually around day 14 it then takes a further week to travel to the uterus to implant. I thought that the hormone levels (HCG) do not show up until this happens, rather than the egg meets sperm scenario (I may be wrong in my understanding) and then they get stronger each day which is why pg kits say to test when af is due as there will be quite a bit of this hormone by then. I know you can get kits that you can use 4 days before af is due which are early ones. You know it 'ain't over till it's over' .
Chin up and enjoy the beautiful sunny day and try not to get too down.

Hi

I've just had a wash to wipe all the tears away - don't want to ruin our anniversary!

No, not done any kind of tests at all. This is first month of ttc after coming off the pill. Had 3 pg's before (but only 1 ds iyswim) and all of them were conceived straight away and very early symptoms. I remember being just a week gone with ds and all my friends were telling me I was pg before I even realised lol! The cheapy test at Butlins (we were on weekend away) said negative but then turned out I was pg, it was just too early for crap cheapy test!

This time all those symptoms came up but have since died down which is why I'm not hopeful.

So, if I'm not pg, what's this about egg life? I know about ovulating kits and will probably try that but I've never heard of the other thing.

I just can't get over how much it's affecting me this time round I was fine with ds and just went with the flow but it's like I'm obsessed!!!

I'm that sad that I've just done another urine sample (as last one was me squeezing the tiniest amount out) and have left it to get to room temp like it says (didn't earlier). I know it won't change the result but I just have to do it. Anyway, I've got 10 tests and they were VERY cheap from ebay so not like I'm breaking the bank

Another thing that worries me is if I ever get pg but MC early, naturally, what if I don't know??? I'm Rhesus Negative and know I need an Anti D injection after any pg, even if I MC. So what if you don't know and don't have the Anti D??? ARRGGHHH I'm being silly now, I know, it's just I worry - I remember coming out of my ERPC and the first thing I shouted out was 'DID I GET MY ANTI D' as was so worried about further pg's going wrong.

SHOOT ME NOW!!!!

Bellie · 11/08/2007 11:43

LT don't cry !! I know it must be incredibly worrying about menopause - have you done one of those tests that show you your 'egg life' ( sorry can't think of the proper name), and do you know that you are ovulating?

I would drink - but I say that based on the fact that I drunk and drunk until 6 weeks with dd as I didn't realise that I was pregnant! So many people do drink before they find out and it has worked out fine. However it is a personal choice and only you can make the decision!

You could be 1/2 way - only have one or two glasses!

looneytune · 11/08/2007 11:30

Thanks

Could be that tested too early but I started having all my symptoms (lots) 6 days ago and these are supposed to be able to be used straight after conception. If I still had the strong symptoms then I'd be thinking it was just too early but now I think I was either getting those symptoms due to ovulating (which if that's the case, it's crap as the last thing I felt like was sex whilst feeling like that), or it was all in my head somehow.

Suppose there's still a chance but what would you do if you got a BFN, symptoms gone and anniversary night out??? Would you drink? I don't know, I really think that's me done for this month. I shouldn't moan as so many have spent months TTC and this is my first month but when it said negative, I just burst into tears!!!

Part of me is worried about age but not so much because I'm 31 and dh 46, more because very early menopause runs in my family and I'm so scared the same will happen to me. My mum was in her late 20's, her sister was in early 30's and well......I just really really worry. Bloody hell, crying again!! ARGGHH

Note to self.....GET A GRIP!!!
