TTC in August Looking for a BFP

Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us looking for a BFP in August. I'm ttc #2. Have a DS of 3.3. I'm current on CD15 - OD day - with a bit of luck. Have been bd'ing like mad over my fertile days and will continue to do so for a few more days yet. Then it will just be the 2ww. Anyone else in situation?

Hi there

Agree with you all about glad they caught it early. Stiff upper lip, what ho, etcetera. I'm fine really apart from the occasional 'Oh f**k!'

The irritating thing is having to wait until Wednesday and Thursday for more tests rather than having it resolved. But I can see the point of them letting nature take its course.

Libralady - what a pain about your back. Not great timing.

Moodymoo - I'm sorry. But fingers crossed for the bank holiday!

Bellie - thanks for your support. I'm sorry you lost your tube. I've been reading up a bit about it.

Tigerschick - glad you had a good night out. Sounds like you really deserved it! Take your point about lots of blue, but at least odds are that the other three bfps will be OK now.

Can't decide whether to join the rest of you on the September thread when I've been banned from bonking anyway, but just for the support, or just to let it go.

tigerschick · 13/08/2007 18:31

I hesitate to say "the more the merrier" as, clearly, that is the motto of the ante-natal threads ... but you are very welcome to join us

moodymoo · 13/08/2007 18:12

Tigerschick - glad you had a good night in Nottingham, wish I had spent mine in such a fun way, instead cooped up in a caravan with SIL and 2 kids - nightmare. Think I will come and join you in the september thread now if that's ok

tigerschick · 13/08/2007 18:03

Oh - so much blue on this thread at the moment.

Upsidedowncake - So sorry, I agree with Bellie that at least it looks like they've 'caught' it early. Small comfort I know. Thinking of you.
Libralady - how annoying. Couldn't have waited a week or so, could it?!
Moodymoo - sorry this isn't your month. Come and join the fun on the September thread.

I had a great night out in Nottingham on Saturday. First time I've been out since January and first time 'on the town' in Lord knows how long!! At least the Clomifene didn't stop me from having a good time, no side effects to report so far and only one day to go on this course.

Oh upsidedowncake _ i am sooooo sorry, but pleased that they managed to catch it so early (if you know what I mean). I had an ectopic almost a year ago and they made me wait until week 8 until they would scan me - the baby was still living and I lost my tube so I do know what you are going through .

thinking of you xx

libralady - sounds painful and frustrating all at the same time!

moodymoo · 13/08/2007 17:29

so sorry to hear your news upsidedowncake. nothing I can say really other than I am thinking of you. Life can be so cruel sometimes.
Libralady - bad news about your back - and rubbish timing for you. Hopefully the painkillers will ease things enough for you to attempt some bd'ing.
Am out of the running now for this month - definatly no baby for me . Not too suprised really but am sooo disappointed. Definatly not through lack of trying on our part, dh is looking forward to a few days break . Have managed to persuade him to take Zinc supplements now and keep feeding him fruit smoothies. Hopefully might all kick in next month. It's our first wedding anniversary bank holiday weekend so fingers crossed for an anniversary baby .

libralady · 13/08/2007 16:42

Hi all,
Sorry for your news upsidedowncake. Hope you are bearing up.
Just caught up with everything that has been going on over the weekend.
Now on cd11 but today my back has gone again so spent an agonising hour at the Drs to be told I probably had another prolapse. Just as I thought I was getting over the operation and looking forward to going back to work, I am laid up again. Have managed to get an appointment with my consultant for Wednesday evening. Worst thing is now is supposed to be my fertile time and the last thing I want is to be bd'ing. Had to get the Drs to prescribe some different painkillers as I explained I have been trying to get pregnant and don;t want to take anything that could affect a foetus or ttc. Was on diclofenac and tramadol before and neither are good to take during preganacy. So now on good old codeine and paracetamol. They are only just taking the edge off the pain.

hi all

hope everyone is well!

haven't been on here for a v. longgg.... time.

been ttc for 1 yr now for no.4
nva had any probs before but then again nva tried like this before dh and i decided to try for or final baby before he gets the snip which is y we have done it prop this time i.e fertility charts temps and making sure we do it at the right time!

anyway... just had a test done to c if i am ov since its taking so long and that came back fine. they also did a test at the same time to c if i am preg from last mth as periods have gone really light. i'm not.
i'm due on in 3 days so i decided to do a home test (first response) it to was neg.
what i'm wonderin is... because the blood test was done on day 21 whilst they were testin my ov that won't have picked up if i was preg this mth would it? too soon i would have thought? and does anyone know of anyone who has tested early got a bfn but actually they were and got a bfp after period was due?
or am i just havin wishful thinkin?
we r runnin out of time i thought i would have been preg by now and dh's snip day is goin to be through soon and dd is 2.6 now we didn't want a big gap between the last 2 as there is only 2yrs between my first then there is 5 and 7 yrs between eldest 2 and dd (if that makes sense) so we wanted a lil play mate for her really as the eldest 2 did.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated. i actually thought i was comin to terms with the fact we prob won't have another but this mth has been quite bad and i am quite gutted that i'm still not. its the docs fault i wasn't even thinkin of preg and i went in wiv tender breasts and commented about my ov out of curiousty really so when she said i'll test for that as well as the other test, sounds like u r! i left feelin quite excited only to have my bubble burst today!

upsidedowncake, im sorry for your news hug

scorpio1 · 13/08/2007 15:14

hope you are as ok as can be.

Upsidedowncake · 13/08/2007 15:12

Hello ladies

Just back from the hospital (St George's Tooting). It's almost certainly ectopic, but has probably dealt with itself. They can see something in the fallopian tubes but the levels of HCG are very low.

So back in to hospital for more tests on Wednesday. Then they decide whether to do nothing, operate or give an injection to deal with it.

I'm almost resigned to it - and at least it was caught early and they know what's going on.

Thanks for the abbreviation list, Tigerschick. I was too embarrassed to ask about BFP after missing old auntie flo! How was the weekend on clomid?

How are you Looneytunes?

1down2togo · 13/08/2007 13:52

best way, not worth the friction.

we did all this first time round anyway, i guilt him into it by reminding him how ive got to inject insulin 4 times a day for 9 mths lol

tigerschick · 13/08/2007 13:48

My dh is not interested in any changes of that nature. I jokingly suggested that he should cut down on coffee and booze - he went rather pale and needed to sit down No, honestly, he's not that bad, but he sees it that a) he didn't do any of that before and we have dd and b) it'll happen when it happens. I'd rather leave it like that and not pressure him as he is likely to tell me to forget it if I try to push it!!

1down2togo · 13/08/2007 13:45

thanks tigerschick, never much good with abbreviations.

My poor hubby i've hidden all his tight briefs hes back in baggy boxers, cool baths and taking zinc tablets everyday ( meant to help with male fertility, strengthen the swimmers ).

tigerschick · 13/08/2007 13:18

Hi 1down2togo

BD is baby dancing - I prefer just calling it sex tho!!
BFP is Big Fat Positive it contrasts with BFN which is Big Fat Negative

Good luck

tigerschick · 13/08/2007 13:17

Hi ladies

Been off line all weekend and now caught up, but only time for a quick post as dd is fading away from hunger

Hope everyone is OK today.

Upsidedowncake - any news? Got my fingers crossed very tightly for you.

1down2togo · 13/08/2007 13:16

hi newbie here. I'm taking my last contraceptive pill this saturday then its all systems go.

Being a bit naughty..lol..I'm diabetic and shouldn't really come off the pill till i've seen the consultant at the preconception clinic, but the hba1c ( long term blood sugar result )is fine and been taking folic acid for a month, and this will be the second pregnancy.

Should have an appt. for the clinic next month and im impatient lol.

Good luck to us all xxx

moodymoo · 12/08/2007 21:02

Hi all
just thought I would catch up on this weekends postings before I go fo an early night. Have spent a weekend in a caravan with my SIL and her 2 kids and I am knackered. The youngest one chose this weekend to test just how far he could push everything - really made me question why on earth I want to create one of these little monsters - but realised that obviously my children wont be like that cos I will obvuoulsy be so much better at it .Glad to get back to the peace and quiet of my own home but worried as seems we are supposed to be doing it all again next weekend.
Got my af due in 3 days and am sure that i am not pg this month - willl probabky explain my total lack of patience this weekend actually - got the usual tummy aches and stuff so reckon it is definatly on it's way.If it is coming I just wish it would get on with it so that I can get back to trying, going to be my first month with my clearblue monitor so am expecting big things!!
Am a bit down tonight as its 13 years today since my mum died - but I got my dates mixed up thinking tomorrow was the 12th not today so have spent today dreading tomorrow and all the usual feelings I get and then my brother phoned to see how I was doing and I realised my mistake so am now feeling bad for that as well. arrghhh - am just all over the place at the moment and I need to try and relax. Just want some good news for a change. and I know that when I go to work 2moro it will be baby talk - either cos colleague has had baby over weekend or cos she is going in to be induced - think am going to find a quiet courtroom somehwere and hide. sorry am sure I had this whinge end of last week but it is still there bubbling away in my head, dh just tells me my time will come and not to let it upset me - not sure he realises that just makes me feel worse.

Ladylush - from what I have read CD1 is the day you get full flow bleeding, not spotting - this is what the instructions on using my monitor say, this one confused me as I get spotting for a few days before sometimes.

Looneytune - you can get tests from boots for about £30 that are supposed to be able to tell you how many eggs you have left. Don't know much about it but have seen them. they do one for both men and women which costs alot more but checks both partners out. Just repeating the otehrs when I say you have probably tested too early and that there is still chance of a bfp next week for you.
Upsidedowncake - am sorry to hear abput ypur bleeing, hopefully it wont be a m/c - but make sure your doctor sends you to the epu 2moro - stress will not help your pregnancy and that is all you ar egoing to do if you don't go 2moro. Don't forget to let us all know what happens.Good luck.

Think have written far too much but am like a duracell battery when I get typing

Upsidedowncake · 12/08/2007 20:16
