TTC in August Looking for a BFP

Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us looking for a BFP in August. I'm ttc #2. Have a DS of 3.3. I'm current on CD15 - OD day - with a bit of luck. Have been bd'ing like mad over my fertile days and will continue to do so for a few more days yet. Then it will just be the 2ww. Anyone else in situation?

Oh Bellie.....I REALLY hope it's a BFP!!! I'm CD28 and DO feel like it's on it's way Funny though, I'm not that bothered now. Now I have an explanation for the things I was feeling, I actually feel better for knowing! I've decided that I'm going to TRY MY BEST to just get on with it i.e. stay off the pill and just have sex like we normally do. We do every other/few days anyway so I shouldn't really need to check out for ovulation etc! Anyway, I say I'm going to try, bet I end up buying the biggest bulk pack of OV sticks (or whatever it is) lol

Best of luck Bellie, keeping everything crossed for you!!

LT xx

Hi Belle,

Thank you!!

Good idea...I think I will just leave it to Monday to test again. I hope you get a BFP.

Bellie · 18/08/2007 08:41

Welcome clarebx

Hoping that you just tested too early rather than it not being this month!

Sorry no idea about cervix feeling, but there are people on mn that do know about this. I am sure that someone can answer your question.

CD29 here and still no period - will test again on Monday if still not arrived!

I am back in my bubble of hope, as period usually arrives bang on time and if it is late usually have period symptoms leading up to it which I just don't have this time!

ClareBX · 17/08/2007 23:55

Hi Guys,

I am new here. Been TTC for 2 months now. Have an 8 year old so its been a while since I have been preggers! lol

I am really hoping for BFP this month. My last period was 21/07 due on this tues coming. Tested this morning after dreaming about going to tescos to buy some tests....tried to wait but couldnt help it had to buy them...tested and got BFN

I have cramping like period pains (but had that with my first pregnancy) headaches and tiredness. A little back pain aswell.

I have also been checking out the whole "feel your cervix" method....however not sure what my cervix should really be feeling like in early pregnancy..any help would be good. Have read a few articles but I just cant seem to take it in....its all a bit medical. Need some advice from someone knows what their cervix feels like in the first 4 weeks...lol

I was nver this obsessed with my 1st...didt test till 6 weeks...lol now you have to chain me to the house to stop me buying them!! lol rarrarar I hate the 2WW!!!

ANy help or advice on symtoms other are having would be really helpful!!

Thanks guys, hope to hear from you soon!

fairysnuff · 17/08/2007 19:40

DH is getting excited already
Oh No! I didn't mean it like that!
It is just that we are both keen for another LO, so he is hoping as much as me that we manage easily again.

by the way......

scorpio1 · 17/08/2007 19:24

i used to make dp 'come on we have to' doesn't make for fabby sex! have a good holiday x

Bellie · 17/08/2007 19:21

Hi Scorpio - wine and relax - yes I suppose if I think about it thats how dd was concieved - and on holiday too!! .
Ok here's a big hope for Sept then - we are going on hols and if my dates are right should be about ov time too (without trying to schedule bd of course

scorpio1 · 17/08/2007 19:07

Hi Bellie

the month i got pg, i had so much on, i didnt really give it too much thought. we had a holiday planned, dcs home from nursery/school...i relaxed, had wine, and just enjoyed myself.

then lo and behold, one day it just popped in my head to test and bfp.

i swear absolutely that its definitely because i relaxed. i didnt notice my CM or have scheduled sex-just as and when.

My tip is to RELAX

moodymoo · 17/08/2007 19:04

Bellie - one good reason for not having pg tests in the house!!! I am too lazy to go out to the shops and don't want to waste my money just yet so waiting it is.I think I might finally be learning the art of patience - only took 28 yrs .Got a headache and we have dss over tonight - going to plaster a smile on my face and try to be nice - even though I just want to go to bed (we get on really well - not sad that he is coming just sad that I don't feel well and I don't want to be cranky with him. He's going on his hols on sunday so we won't see him for 2 weeks - am NOT a wicked stepmother )

Bellie · 17/08/2007 17:04

Hi all,

Ladylush - CD6
Looneytune - CD27
Libralady - CD15
Bellie - CD 28 - probably should move to ttc Sept, but even though I got a BFN this morning going to wait until period arrives before completely admitting defeat this month!

Moodymoo- I still can't believe that you havn't tested! I would be having to lock the pg tests away at this point!!

Libralady - I would go for it if your back is up to it!! I seriously wouldn't worry about the x-rays as they have such a miniscule amount of radiation in them. Is it something that you could google to put your mind at rest? As to MIL- I am sure part of their job descriptions is to do your head in every so often!!

Ladylush - enjoy your anniversary - how many years

Scorpio - nice to speak to you again. Is there anything that you did that was special to get your BFP (other than bd'ing obviously )

LT- how are you feeling, hopefully better now. It may take a while for your periods to settle down after the pill - it took 3 months with me, so it may just be this time it is taking slightly longer

Upsidedowncake - if you are not feeling up to going back to work - don't. Allow yourself time to grieve, and that takes as long as it takes. Will work be supportive? Gop to your Gp and get signed off.

I think I win the longest post/ramble - fairysnuff you are in good company

libralady · 17/08/2007 17:02

Thanks moodymoo.
She does now I went to the theme park anyway. It was something for me to do with DS whilst DH, MIL and FIL went to the Godfather's funeral. She was OK about that as Paultons is deemed a park for children not as adventurous as Alton Towers.

Poor you - sounds like you are getting enough grief about what you should and shouldn't be doing - at least I was only teasing you . Unfortunatly when they get to that age there is little you can say or do to change there mind on things - have the same problem with my grnadparents who see there age as a green light to be rude and nasty to everyone and they never hold back on telling you what they think, they boycotted my wedding last year cos they don't like my brothers wife??!!WTF?
Hope DH isn't too hard on her - but she does need setting straight - not like you don't have enough to worry about - ohh and I wouldn't advise telling her you went to the themepark - she would have a field day . Glad your dh went to see the doc with you - at least he will understand what is going on with you.

My MIL is doing my head in at the moment. She is saying I am doing far too much and I shouldn't have gone to London last week.
My DH came to see the consultant with me and he heard what he had to say regarding this could happen anytime, and I didn't have to be bending or lifting and that it can go when just walking. MIL is now putting the pressure on becase DH's Godfather died 3 weeks ago of cancer of the spine and 'she doesn't want that happening to her does she?' DH got quite angry with his Mum and is going to have some severe words with her explaining that out two scenarios are completely different. Don't get me wrong my MIL is a real sweetie, but she is just doing my head in at the moment. (she is 82!) and a real granny (iykwim) Bless her!

didn't think you would have owned up I wouldn't have either.

No I must admit I didn't confess to going to the theme park, but that was over 2 weeks ago. I've been to London since then and have walked miles.
I did confess to wearing heels last weekend when I went to a wedding reception. Physio doesn't think this would have had an impact.
My consultant did say the other night that as I was only 10 weeks post op, it is to be expected. Just wish he had forewarned me!
Congratulations to those having their wedding annivesaries over the next couple of weeks. I've got just 7 weeks until my 8th on 2nd October.

moodymoo · 17/08/2007 15:21

Libralady - did you confess to your physio that you were at the theme park earlier in the month
If your back is feeling ok over the weekend I would go for it with the ttc - you never know the 'magic hands' may have been more magic than you think...

moodymoo · 17/08/2007 15:18

Hiya,
No I haven't done a pg test - am 99.9% sure that it is my period and that it is just messing about, expect it will be here properly over the weekend. Am now CD30 so will give it till next week. Hope I aren't going to start having problems now after years of normalness(if that's a real word). AM just worrying a bit cos when I we went to see the specialist for the post portem results they made me have another blood test as the first ones showed that a small number of my chromosomes had a stick missing, said that this would mean I would be very unlikely to get pg and would not have periods, but seen as I have been pg and have had a regular period for years they told me not to worry and that it could just be a blip on the test as only a few of the chromosomes had the problem. Have not let myself worry about it but am still waiting for the re-test results and with all the up and downs am now having with my period am it's starting to creep to the front of my mind. Have always had a fear that I wont be able to get pg which everyone has always laughed at me about but am getting really worried about it now.
Upsidedowncake - You need to give yourself time to grieve and get your body right physically so don't force yourself to go back to work on monday if you can't face it - if you don't deal with this properly now it will only come back and bite you months down the line. Your hormones will be all over the place - mix those with emotions and I imagine you will be all over the place.
LoveAngel - step away from the pregnancy tests before you bankrupt yourself!!
Fairysnuff - CD1 is the first day of bleeding.I tend to rant as well but nobody has told me to shut up yet ....
Ladylush hope you have a great anniversary - how many is that? Got my first one next weekend, wish I could have my wedding day all over again, have booked in for a meal at the hall where we got married, am soooo excited.

scorpio1 · 17/08/2007 14:59

pmsl 'magic' hands....

libralady · 17/08/2007 14:59

scorpio

I don't mind you posting here. It's great to hear a success story. It keeps my chin up thinking that hopefully it can soon be me.
Just got back from Physio. That man certainly had magic hands. It feels soooo much better already. Can nearly stand straight. Had some manipulation and he told me that the whole of my right side down my spine was in spasm. He thinks I've tweaked the joint above where I had the op. Then had some ultasound which was nice an relaxing. Who know's I may feel like bd'ing later I think I am due to ovulate at some point this weekend. Do you think I should go for it, or leave it as I had x-rays earlier this week?

When do I count my CD from?
The first day of my last period?
uuumm
CD8?
I think!!
I am not at my house at mo so can't remember if it was last friday or thursday, it is written down on my calendar.

CD14 is the best to go for it right?

Ooh a pg lady!
also that you are just tired and not sick as a dog, soooo hoping I am that way this time!
Not to mean that being tired isn't hard
Sometimes so frightened of upsetting people!

Can't believe what happened to you bellie! Shocking!!
I live so far north that the maternity unit nearly closed down, they thought there was too few poeple, but now that it is staying open, I know I would never be treated that way. They want the work! To keep them all going!
Living inthe back of beyond sometimes has it's benefits
Sorry for long post, I can be a bit of a rambler!

scorpio1 · 17/08/2007 13:41

i do normally have a sleep when dp gets home, then get up about 7, just before they go bed. tonight i'll wait until he has gone out and crash out in front of the telly

btw, i hope no-one minds me posting here?

ladylush · 17/08/2007 13:40

Have an early night when the kids go to bed and get dp to watch the kids while you have some you time tomorrow.

Upsidedowncake · 17/08/2007 13:38

Hi ladies

Back to hospital again for more blood tests. I hate going back there and got upset again. I don't think I'm going to manage to make it into work on Monday at this rate.

Boobs really sore, and could I be having baby blues from hormones or is it just sadness?
