TTC in August Looking for a BFP

Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us looking for a BFP in August. I'm ttc #2. Have a DS of 3.3. I'm current on CD15 - OD day - with a bit of luck. Have been bd'ing like mad over my fertile days and will continue to do so for a few more days yet. Then it will just be the 2ww. Anyone else in situation?

lissie · 30/07/2007 10:32

i am not amused

tigerschick · 30/07/2007 10:21

Hi ladies

Thought I'd better cross over from the July thread as I've got no chance of getting a BFP tomorrow!!

Started taking Provera today. So, in theory, I should get my period in 2 weeks then I can start Clomid and be ttc-ing in earnest!

Lissie - hope you get your Clomid soon. I'm so glad I was given Provera so I don't have to wait for a 'natural' period.

Aquababe - any news?

Good luck everyone else - let this be a very positive month.

Bellie · 30/07/2007 08:48

fingers crossed - hope that you can still get the clomid though....

lissie · 30/07/2007 08:03

tested on fri and got bfn (i get v early bfp's) got more HPTs coming in the post so will test when the postman arrives

Bellie · 30/07/2007 07:59

have you tested lissie?

lissie · 30/07/2007 07:57

lol, try eating grapefruit instead with loads of sugar! im really excited about today, but....

started spotting yesterday, the start of af, well its stopped. totally. no backache/cramps etc so now im worried that ill have to wait to start the clomid. dont think im knocked up, dont feel pg (and i usually know within a week)

Bellie · 30/07/2007 07:54

Goodluck Lissie!
Have you tested yet aquababe??
Drinking my grapefruit juice again - still doesn't taste any nicer!!

moodymoo · 29/07/2007 22:38

Good luck 2moro Lissie. Thanks for the advice - going to buy some grapefruit juice 2moro.
Aquababe - if you do test in the morning don't forget to let us know - fingers crossed for a BFP for you.

lissie · 29/07/2007 20:56

the folic acid helps to reduce chances of neurological problems and decreases the chance of mc. grapefruit juice improves the quality of your mucus. HTH

well, im officially back. CD1, see specialist tomorrow to start clomid. im actually really really excited! how is everyone?

aquababe · 29/07/2007 20:41

not tested yet but strongly looking at tomorrow morning as a possibility.

Had to go out and not have tests in easy reach.

moodymoo · 29/07/2007 17:49

whoops was thinking that the folic didn't have any taste!!Think I will give the grapefruit a go though - anything that might help has got to be worth trying.

Hopefully my 2ww wont be too bad this time as I am going back to work on wednesday after 5 months sick leave so will probably be so stressed out with that over the next few weeks that I wont have time to worry .

Aquababe - did you stick to your guns and not test or did you do what I would have done and caved in?

Think all this is good practice for our dh's cos when we do get our BFP's we will be driving them up the wall for 9 months!

Any one got any tips to help this ttc along??

KnitterInTheNW · 29/07/2007 14:01

I'm turning into a nervous wreck and I don't think either my poor DH or I can cope like this for much longer!

AF due tues/wed/thurs so I'm going to test for the 1st time on tues. It seems forever away! Don't you wish you had a see through bit on your tummy so you could see what's going on?!

moodymoo, I'm on the 5mg dose of folic acid too but thankfully haven't had any side effects from it. I think bellie meant the grapefruit juice helps to get pg not the folic?

aquababe · 29/07/2007 12:52

HI It's only my second month ttc and I'm going crazy not knowing.
I'm constantly checking and rechecking the earliest day I can try and pee on the stick.
I'm driving my dh crazy to.
It doesn't help that I'm irregular so can be anything from 26-31 days so could test today (under the 4 days early thing) but probably more sensible to wait but am going crazy waiting
arrrrrrgh.
trying to distract my self but it's just not working
any ideas.
I better be pregnant I can't cope with this waiting game much longer[crazy gone mad face]

moodymoo · 29/07/2007 09:47

Anyone lucky enough to need to buy pg tests -when I was on Instore (poundstretcher) they had clearblue ones in for £6 - thought that was cheap as I know the clearblue site charges over £8. They weren't the digital ones though. Just thought would let you all know.

moodymoo · 29/07/2007 09:42

Morning all,

Knitter - got to take the higher dose as lost my 1st baby to anencephaly in march and the folic is the only way to try and prevent it happening again. take the 5mg dose. On the plus side though the other side effect of loss of appetite has also kicked in and have lost a bit of weight. Will keep my fingers crossed for you (and all the others ttc) for a BFP. My problem is I am too impatient, it took us 10 months last time and I am dreading going through that wait again. Thanks for that info though Bellie - I didn't know that folic can help get pg.
Am now CD11 so still got a while to wait but am doing bd'ing as much as poss.

i hope the clomid works for you. you deserve it my af due anytime from next thursday...eek. just know im going to have to keep trying...im not that lucky!

lissie · 28/07/2007 14:49

hi scorpio, just hoping af holds off til tomorrow. start clomid on day 2 and dont want to wait another month!

scorpio1 · 28/07/2007 14:33

s'pose i better join in here too! (hi lissie!)

Bellie · 28/07/2007 14:29

moodymoo - apparently it helps produce more EWCM. Loads of people on here swear by it! Only thing is it tastes foul!

KnitterInTheNW · 28/07/2007 14:19

moodymoo, if you don't mind me asking, why do you have to take a larger amount of folic acid?

Just being nosey really, I'm diabetic and also have to take a bigger dose than 'normal' people. I haven't felt sick with it, but maybe I'm lucky, or not on as high a dose as you!

I too am looking for symptoms, now on CD25 and I know we've only just stated trying, and it'll probably take a while but I'm sooooo excited!

moodymoo · 28/07/2007 12:59

Fingers crossed for you LibraLady.
Have been feeling sicky for last few days which got my hopes up (even though way too early as not at ov date yet) until I found it it is a common side effect of the large dose of folic acid I have to take.
On the plus side managed to get a clearblue monitor off ebay so will be using that next month.
Bellie - what does grapefruit juice do?
