@ELW85 I’m going to ask about the CoQ10 and B6 on Thursday as I’ve seen it on a few blogs now. Just don’t want to be OD’ing haha! My pee is absolutely luminous these days!!

@purplefig Would you normally get cramps before AF, or not? Cramping around the time of a BFP really is normal, had it for all of mine - felt like a twisting/pulling. But even if it is bad news, just look at how good your LP, temps, ovulation date etc is all looking - you’ve nailed it this month! So either you’ll get your BFP or you’re going in to your next cycle armed to the teeth with knowledge - total TTC pro!

@LikeTheFruit Love the ‘period treats’ - yours are a lot more exciting than my usual bar of Galaxy! Enjoy the holiday!

@Lozzlepop Enjoy the R&R and have a fantastic time!

@MrsR16 hi lovely! How are you getting on?

Lozzlepop · 04/06/2019 18:00

Thanks @ELW85

ELW85 · 04/06/2019 17:43

@purplefig - ah I see, thanks for attaching it! May have good news for you then, as I’ve found a few papers now that actually state LP is day of ovulation as it’s a different phase in your cycle (I.e the follicle has burst)? So that hopefully helps your LP? :)

And you’re not out until AF arrived, so I’m still optimistic for you!

@Lozzlepop - have an amazing time!

MrsR16 · 04/06/2019 17:39

Hey lovelies, just marking my place cos I'm a super nosey cow and can't wait to see your BFPs!! Xxx

Lozzlepop · 04/06/2019 17:20

@Snuggs19 welcome to the thread

@LokiCat thanks it has been a very busy day I haven't stopped! Having a quick cuppa before going to the hairdressers!

Ladies I am going to sign off for the next week and have some much needed R&R good luck to the ladies testing on Friday, I will try and check in (WiFi permitting) I have my fingers crossed for you! Xx

LikeTheFruit · 04/06/2019 17:20

@purplefig thanks! It's amazing how many things I've been putting off doing because of TTC so I'm not anymore.

@Lozzlepop hey 👋!! Hope you have a great holiday. We're off to Majorca in less than 3 week and I can't wait. Going AI so going to go crazy on the cocktails and seafood same as you. Will hopefully make the TWW fly, and if it's a bfn again at least it means I can have a drink at the 2 weddings I've got in July. Got to look on the bright side.

@Snuggs19 welcome to the mad house!!

@ImMeantToBeWorking. Yes, stopped cerazette at the end of October, had a withdrawal start of December. Started regular AF at beginning of jan but only now feeling as heavy as "normal"

@LokiCat I highly recommend period treats! Going to commiserate each one with a pregnancy no-no!

purplefig · 04/06/2019 17:18

@ELW85 I'm going with FF which looks like day after ovulation as day 1 of LP - attached so you can see.

Feel like cramps have kicked up a gear and finding it hard to remain optimistic about this cycle.

@purplefig - awesome news on your LP :) and thanks for the tip on the book!
Do you count your LP from the day of O? I have been after that paper got shared on this thread (it was a while ago!)

ELW85 · 04/06/2019 16:49

@MrsEG vitamin wise, I’m on:

  • Pregnacare conception
  • 1000mg vitamin c
  • ubiquinol (it’s a more concentrated version of coq10)
  • 25mg vitamin b6

Also curious to hear about others’ research into vitamins though.

MrsEG · 04/06/2019 16:29

@PaintingOwls You don’t sound like a child at all - I’ve thrown my toys out of the pram a good few times with the TTC journey over the last year! The gutting frustration gets us all. We’re conditioned to think as soon as we stop taking contraception, hey presto, you’ll be up the duff! It’s rubbish, and to feel time just dragging on is rotten. It really sounds like you’ve been through it to even get started too so it must be such a kick in the teeth! But try and just keep hopeful. Hope is all we have when it comes to TTC say the end of the day (that and a good dose of luck I think!). Enjoy the house buying - I’ve only been in mine just over two years and still putting my stamp all over it - it’s so amazing once you find one and you’re in!!

@purplefig I could say the exact same to you my dear!!

@ImMeantToBeWorking I wake up at different times every day and am quite a bad sleeper so traditional temping doesn’t work for me either but I got an Ava bracelet. They’re one hell of an investment but it’s worked for me so far, you just wear it while you sleep.

WHERE has this rain come from! It is not giving me the motivation to go running tonight.......

purplefig · 04/06/2019 16:25

@PaintingOwls sorry to hear about the long journey, and I really do hope you get your BFP soon. In the meantime, I find distractions are the best medicine and a house hunt is absolutely perfect for that!

PaintingOwls · 04/06/2019 16:22

MrsEG

Thank you, I realise I sound like a whingey child, but we started off the TTC discuss in 2016! I had to wait about 18 months for an appointment for genetic counseling because of a series of fuck ups for the all clear to start TTC as I have a disability which I didn't want to risk passing on. Then we did a 3 month health detox before actively trying, so it's been a long journey just to get to cycle one of TTC!

I'm naturally a pessimist regardless of how hard I try to be otherwise, so sometimes I get dragged down by the blues.

But I am reinvigorated by the house for now so we shall see how it goes Smile

purplefig · 04/06/2019 16:04

@Snuggs19 I think you're best bet is actually doing it the day before ovulation, but obviously as much as possible around that time is ideal. I know a lot of people on this thread have DHs who don't like the pressure, so I think it's quite a common thing. I just mentioned temps as it's something I wish I'd done way earlier!

Snuggs19 · 04/06/2019 16:00

@purplefig, thanks 😊 I have been using the OPKs and taking my temp but I need to improve on the temp. But the problem is the day I’m ovulating my DH must be able to smell it cause he just can’t do it he panics and every other day of the month he’s fine. He is the one who wants the baby more than me. I’m happy to wait another while cause we only got married in September 18.

purplefig · 04/06/2019 15:56

@MrsEG Can I just say I think you are an absolute beacon of positivity and I often notice and smile at your kindness and uplifting words to others on here.

@ImMeantToBeWorking You can start whenever - I guess CD1 is the best for a complete chart. I didn't start until CD4 this month though and it was fine.

@LokiCat Hot chocolate on a rainy train sounds like perfection tbh. Enjoy!

LokiCat · 04/06/2019 15:44

Thanks for the new thread @ValidUser! Can't believe we filled the other one so fast!

My stats are CD18 if cycle 7. Have ovulated I think, not sure when but will go with 3 dpo for now!

On the train back to London, thankfully. Pissing it down here, so have got myself a hot chocolate and Netflix to keep me company 😊

@LikeTheFruit your period treat sounds brilliant!

@Lozzlepop ahh your day sounds great. I need to take a day off work to have a 'me' day. Get my nails, hair, facials done - the works!!

@Snuggs19 welcome! This thread is a great place to turn to for advice. Lots of very supportive ladies on here, which is exactly what is needed during TTC - others that understand what you're going through :)

@MrsEG I was previously only taking Superdrug vit D and folic acid tablets. After reading here I've been taking Pregnacare this cycle. I haven't focused too much on that side of things, but if we go through more cycles I may have to rethink.
Hope you manage to get through the emails!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 04/06/2019 15:35

Thanks for the new thread @ValidUser - keeping us all in check!! I am keeping everything crossed for you for Friday!!

I tried temping once and my charts were so up and down, then I went on holidays and I never bothered since I got back. So, if AF doesn't show I will start again next cycle. When is the best time of the month to start? Straight after AF or before that? Thanks

@LikeTheFruit did you just come off conterception before TTC?? I found it took a few months for AF to go back to "pre-pill" state!! I was not a welcome change let me tell you, but I was thinking the same as you, maybe it is a good sign!!

@Snuggs19 welcome!! I hear you, one friend knows I am trying and that is it, and she has been a close friend for nearly 15 years now!!!

MrsEG · 04/06/2019 15:34

@starkid @purplefig Thanks both, think I’ll have a chat with the consultant Thursday and see what she thinks. Feel like a human rattle at the moment the amount of pills I’m popping (also, LOL at Wellman - DH looked at the Vit C fab in disgust because it was pink Hmm)

@PaintingOwls Oh Hun, please don’t get down. You’re buying a home! That is so exciting, it really is. I hate saying this to people as I know when it’s you, it feels irrelevant- but as you are young you really do have time on your hands. I know it can be so maddening when things feel like they are taking so long, but just stay hopeful that it will happen for you. I have just turned 34 so now feel like a ticking time bomb and that my eggs are all going to decay in 12 months time!! I’d love to still be 26! If it is really bothering you, maybe go and chat to your GP, or even go private for a fertility MOT to just give you some peace of mind? Go easy on yourself - it really will happen :)

@Snuggs19 Of course you can join us, there is no question off bounds in this thread!

purplefig · 04/06/2019 15:23

@Snuggs19 of course you can! Do you temp? We've been TTC for 9 cycles and this is my first cycle temping and it's made me feel much more sure about when I ovulated. With that, plus OPKs, it's the first month I can ever be fairly sure we DTD at the right time! If that sounds like too much pressure for you, you might like to look into the Sperm Meets Egg Plan (google SMEP) which basically means have a lot of sex to make sure you cover around ovulation. Sorry if you already knew all of this!

Snuggs19 · 04/06/2019 15:03

Hi I’m new to all of this? Can I join the thread? We have been trying since jan 2019 and nothing happening so far we need some advice. Obviously we don’t want to be telling people cause they will be waiting for the announcement which is pressure so I don’t know who to turn to. Thanks x

Lozzlepop · 04/06/2019 14:51

Yaaaaaayyyy a new thread!! Thanks @ValidUser!

I'll just repost this here then incase its not seen on the last one lol

@MrsH497 I got my OH to bring my laptop charger home so I could do some bits whilst I was off. I am so sorry to hear some of your friends haven't been there for you but like you say, it shows who your true friends are at times like these!

@cupcakesandglitter I am actually glad she is here as it means we can try again next cycle 👌🏻 sorry to hear about the BFN I know how frustrating it is having just been there so fingers crossed you get some answers soon!

@MrsEG its been fab! Just back from getting my nails done and about to start packing!! I will be drinking and eating all the naughty things for us all 😂

@Starkid fingers crossed that you caught OV its sounds like have being going at it DTD wise 😄

@ValidUser thanks hun but its actually a relief this time around, thats good your trigger positives are getting fainter, I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

@LikeTheFruit 👋🏻nice to see you back, hows things?

PaintingOwls · 04/06/2019 14:51

Thanks for the tag and new thread!

Age: 26
TTC: #1
Cycle 9? 10?? Who knows!
CD: 4

Very odd cycle as well, I had 2 days of heavy bleeding and then almost nothing yesterday and today has been very light too. Not sure what it's happening but I know I don't like it.

I've stopped drinking coffee following the last thread which has been tough but I'm okay now.

I keep getting very down about it all. We're trying to buy our own house at the moment and I have days where I think what is the point of getting a 3 bed house, it'll be empty etc etc. A small stupid part of me thinks I'm Jinx myself. I bought a tiny baby outfit last summer just before we started TTC and I think I jinxed myself then as well. Stupid but I suppose it's human nature to try to find an explanation to the unexplained things in life.

purplefig · 04/06/2019 14:51

@MrsEG that looks like a decent list.

At the moment all I take is the pregnacare conception and DH takes the male version (named something to appease the male ego....something like wellman?!).

I suspected I had a short LP (though now on 10dpo so hopefully not!), but if I'm not pregnant this cycle and it's shorter than 12 days, I'm going to try a Vitamin B Complex as that's supposed to help. I also want to look into a Vegan Omega 3 supplement as I don't eat fish.

In terms of other daily nutrients, I'm still doing my mad fertility smoothie which has a whole host of weird and wonderful ingredients including maca powder, acai powder, wheatgrass powder, flaxseed and goji berries. Who know if it's doing anything but I must say it makes me feel vibrant!

If you have any specific queries, I always think of @KatBeCool as the ultimate vitamin guru of these threads.

PippaPug · 04/06/2019 14:20

Thank you for the new thread @validuser, that thread got full rather quickly!

starkid · 04/06/2019 14:19

@MrsEG - I'm on:
Pregnacare (liquid, stats here)
B12 oral spray (4 pumps deliver 1200ug)
Cod Liver oil
Vitamin C 1000mg

I've been taking B6 50mg this cycle too so far, but am going to stop for the rest of the cycle as I think it's delaying ovulation.

DH is on some generic multi-vitamin for now, he'll be getting a sperm sample checked soon though, so will see if his supply is ok.
