@FlapJackered completely understand about needing to take a break. When TTC it seems to completely consume us and it is important to relax and enjoy this time. Take care of yourself and I hope you get some much needed TLC ❤️

Thanks for the good luck wishes everyone! I'm tempted to be a nerd and take a notebook in with me to jot down everything they say about my poor mutilated body, as don't want to potentially miss anything 😂 weird but so excited to finally get confirmed how all these surgeries have affected the rest of body, as I've always suspected... if they'd just done a scan after the last surgery 3 years ago I would already know what's likely wrong 🙈 oh well, it's happening now

@MrsEG thanks! Nice birthday present to myself. My dinner and drinks will now just be dinner though, not sure how I am going to hide the fact that I am not drinking from my parents, grandparents, auntie and best friend over the course of the night though!!

@Imjustme2019 I bought a themother but kept forgetting to use it. I used Flo and after a few cycles it clearly got it right!!

@ELW85 thanks lovely ❤️ and nothing is weird in here! I've attached my chart so you can check it out. Actually didn't do it much at all as no idea when ovulation was! Also it looks like tonnes of ewcm but the first bit was kind of barely...but did have a bit of stretch to it. Like it was gearing up. Just though I'd mention in case anyone thought a week of it was necessary 😂

Hi @Imjustme2019. TTC is stressful. I found knowing as much as possible helped me feel less anxious. Am taking my temperature and have the data in three apps 🙈 I did do OPK but have stopped now I have an Ava.

@FlapJackered sorry you got a BFN. Try and distract yourself with all your wonderful weekend plans. a break seems like a good idea, come back when you feel ready.

@MrsEG Haha yeah you're probably right. Ok I'll say run down, that's far less obvious. It was the cutest thing ever, as soon as it popped up at 6am I ran into the bedroom, jumped on him and shoved it in his face and he was like "I DON'T KNOW WHAT TWO LINES MEAN?!?!!" I had to explain 2 = pregnant. He was so over the moon.

@FlapJackered I think that's a good idea. I remember feeling a bit burnt out with it all at Christmas and had a good few months off. As lovely as it is, you're right that it makes it more on your mind.

@starkid Ahhh yes....I'll use my cold sore as evidence of being run down. That's a really good idea! I did tell DH - he was beside himself once he realised what 2 lines meant haha. Hope everything goes well with the hospital stuff. FWIW I found acupuncture a stress reliever just in the sense that a) she was great to talk to and b) it felt like I was 'doing' something.

@FlapJackered @MrsEG - a break is definitely a good idea if it's stressing you out on here/making you feel worse, it's what I did for most of this cycle (not that it's helped fertility-wise but there we go). xxx

@purplefig - definitely say about feeling run down etc (point out cold sore) hence not drinking!
Thanks for saying all that you did differently, forgot about your special smoothies Acupuncture is particularly intriguing to me, though will wait and see how all the hospital stuff goes first before heading off in that direction I think. Interesting about how you said you were particularly relaxed/chilled out too... you must be so excited! Have you told DH?

@purplefig I think using the word ‘antibiotics’ is a dead giveaway but just say you’re not feeling too well so you’re not drinking, just keep it very casual! Congrats again how did DH take it??

@FlapJackered I understand completely - I think I will come away a little over the coming weeks especially as we can’t even really try at the moment. I love all of the support but at the same time it does make me feel like I am thinking about TTC every day and the consultant wants me to just be relaxed. Going to really focus on just staying sane I think! Good luck to you though and I hope to see you in the coming weeks again xxx

Right ladies I think I am going to have a bit of a break from Mumsnet. Just thinking about what my acupuncture lady said and what @MrsEG s consultant said about reducing stress being important and as much as I love chatting with you all here i think it does make me worry a bit more about ttc etc.

@starkid thanks so much!! Here's what I did differently this month.

Ok so it's been 9 months of trying and this month I decided to step things up a gear with:

• Temping + OPKs. Think this made a world of difference as it's basically the first time I've been 100% sure we did it on the right day.

• Pregnacare conception + wellman.

• Daily "fertility" smoothie (www.babble.com/pregnancy/fertility-smoothie-lori-bregman/)

• Generally cleaning up diet + exercising again. That said, I haven't avoided alcohol and have still had half a cup of coffee. Will have to finally let them go now though haha!

• Acupuncture.

• Also, this isn't really doable, but immediately after we DTD I headed off on a four night festival (no alcohol, lots of healthy food, silence from 10pm kinda hippy festival) that was incredibly chilled out. So I'd say my stress was also the lowest it's been in months during this TWW.

Sorry that's not really helpful is it, as it's quite a lot! On a soppy note, thank you lovely ladies so much for the camaraderie and the laughs - this TTC journey would've been a hell of a lot harder without you all. I'm still going to hang around if that's OK, as it still doesn't feel real and I want to keep up with you guys.

Question we've got friends down in an a couple of hours and I don't want to tell them.....so any ideas for why I'm not drinking?! I've got quite a horrid cold sore at the moment so was wondering if I could tie that into antibiotics somehow?
