@Bettythecat - 11dpo possibly, not 100% sure when I ovulated as didn't get a positive
@LokiCat- very true, I might be too early still, you never know...
Mean girls event sounds interesting!

MrsChicken89 · 13/06/2019 07:18

Thanks everyone, im in need of a bit of support at the moment, moods are very up and down about it all. I've used opks on and off over the year, but my cycles are very regular 26-28 days so it was always around the same time, so stopped using them. We just make sure we get lots of dtd in between cd10-16.
Next steps really are to lose a bit of weight get a bit healthier and carry on timing it right. It's very frustrating that it's just all down to luck.
The doctor has said we can be referred to a fertility clinic but I think I want to give it a bit more time first.

LokiCat · 13/06/2019 07:11

@ELW85 the truffles sound amazing! Hope you're feeling better this morning and get an appointment soon.

@ValidUser sorry to hear about AF! I hope you enjoyed dinner and wine!

@starkid so sorry to hear about BFN. As you said you're not 100% sure about ovulation date, so hopefully you're still in 🤞🏽

@that90sgirl welcome! Wow how long are your cycles? That must be frustrating. It may be worth speaking to the GP, as you've been off the pill for quite a few months now. How long do they generally say it will take for cycles to regulate after coming off?
You're still in until AF shows! 🤞🏽

@MrsChicken89 Welcome and sorry to hear you've been trying for 15 months. Everything crossed that cycle 15 is the one for you!

@MrsEG ahh happy first date anniversary for this weekend - how cute! Glad you had a lovely dinner with your friends.

@Bettythecat nice to hear from you! How have you been feeling?

Morning all! Another miserable, grey day here! Had a gym session last night and I felt so much good afterwards, so going to try and make it a regular thing.
DH and I are going to dinner tonight, possibly enjoy some crazy golf tomorrow.
I'm out tomorrow night as well for a Mean Girls event, so will likely need to put in a decent gym session over the weekend to work it off 🙈

Hope you all have a lovely day! So close to the weekend!!

ELW85 · 13/06/2019 07:06

Thanks @Bettythecat :) I tried to make it more about just my potential hormonal imbalance so she didn’t just out us in the TTC channel, but she looked at me like I was speaking another language.
Never mind! Today is a new day.

How are you anyway? How are you feeling? All good I hope!

Bettythecat · 13/06/2019 07:05

Sorry @MrsEG was typing away when you had already posted!

Bettythecat · 13/06/2019 07:03

Hi ladies just thought I would check back in to say hello and see how you're all doing.

@MrsChicken89 @that90sgirl welcome! You've come to the right place for a serious wealth of TTC knowledge and support- it's a great corner of the internet. @MrsChicken89 how frustrating that you've had tests and no answers why it's not happening- as you say it sounds like maybe just bad luck. Do you have any plan of action for next steps?

@starkid what DPO are you now?

@MrsEG how was your dinner and how are you feeling? I saw you had a few low days 😞. You have some amazing friends but knowing you virtually on here I'm not surprised- you're such a babe.

@ValidUser so sorry to hear af arrived. It's always extra disappointing when you've tried something new as you feel like surely this should help. Onwards and upwards!

@ELW85 I agree with the others on here- to get a bit of peace of mind and feel like something is actually happening going private has got to be the answer. Might also be worth booking an appointment with another doctor and just focusing on your age and how long you've been trying to get them to refer you and basically force them!! Sounds like the person you spoke to wasn't very helpful at all- people don't understand the stress and upset of TTC so can be so dismissive.

ELW85 · 13/06/2019 07:03

@Lottiepink @MrsEG - thanks :) the truffles were amazing and the clinic emailed, so hopefully we’ll hear back today!

@that90sgirl @MrsChicken89 - welcome! You’re definitely in the right place for support; these girls are fantastic.

@starkid sorry to hear about your BFN :( it doesn’t get easier, but we will all get there xx

MrsEG · 13/06/2019 06:55

@ELW85 Hope you enjoyed those truffles and managed to get an appointment booked!

@ValidUser Sorry about AF lovely. I hope you enjoyed dinner, and really enjoyed the wine!

@that90sgirl Welcome! Gosh I can’t believe you’ve only had 4 cycles since November - is it something you’ve ever discussed with your doctor?

@MrsChicken89 Welcome! Wow 15 months - how frustrating to find out it’s just a case of luck, but at least you know you’ll get there eventually - you just need the stars to align!! Are you tracking with OPKs / BBT etc? There are a lot of us here who completely understand the frustration - we’ve all been there.

@starkid Ah So sorry about AF hun I really am. Xx

Morning all! Had such a lovely dinner with friends last night - they are BIG drinkers so I drove as I have a super long day at work today!! It’s mine and DH ‘first date anniversary’ this weekend which we always celebrate so likely out for dinner again ha! Must dig out the stretchy pants...

starkid · 13/06/2019 06:43

@MrsChicken89 - that is a long time! Fingers crossed for you for the future xx

starkid · 13/06/2019 06:42

@ValidUser - really sorry to hear AF arrived 😣 xx
So I hadn't had any spotting still, so I did a FRER this morning... BFN! 😭 So now just waiting for AF come in next couple of days then onto cycle 12.

MrsChicken89 · 12/06/2019 22:52

Hi all, I posted in the other ttc thread but thought I'd jump on here too.

About me.. 30 years old, been trying ttc for 14 months, this is our 15th. About 12 of them have been spot on with timings. We've both had tests done and all good, so just down to bad luck I guess.
Starting to feel like it's never going to happen and losing all positivity.

that90sgirl · 12/06/2019 22:47

Thanks @ValidUser it really is a minefield! Who knew it was going to be this hard?? My DH still can't get his head around it 😂

ValidUser · 12/06/2019 22:43

Thanks @Lottiepink!

Welcome to the jungle/living room @that90sgirl!

that90sgirl · 12/06/2019 22:37

Hi girls
Is there room for another? I have been watching this thread for a while now and think you all sound like a lovely bunch of girls! Really just need somewhere to talk through the struggles of TTC.
Little bit about me: I'm 28 TTC #1 been trying since end of November but only on cycle 4 as my cycles are soo long since coming off the pill.
Thought I was on to a winner this month but BFNs and still no AF so back to square one!

Lottiepink · 12/06/2019 22:17

@MrsEG thank you. Haven't taken anymore. Af still not arrived but she's imminent 😂😂

@ELW85 so sorry to hear about your doctor, you will have to keep us updated with the private clinic! Tbh though, you shouldn't need to go private!!

Thanks @LokiCat with the temp drop and the cramps I'm not hopeful ha!

@ValidUser so sorry! Enjoy your evening out 😊

ValidUser · 12/06/2019 18:41

Thanks everyone! I think AF is here. I used to get premenstrual spotting, but not since my surgery. It's slightly heavier than spotting now.

On to cycle 2 of meds. Off out for dinner with my cousin tonight and I'll enjoy a glass of wine.

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 17:32

@MrsEG - totally worth it; it was great to hear how wonderful they’d been with you!
And you’ve actually read my mind - I smashed about 4 M&S truffles in when I got home, haha!

Have a wonderful evening at dinner :) x

MrsEG · 12/06/2019 17:30

@ELW85 Ah yay, great stuff! You won’t believe the difference in the appointments haha! And at mine even though she was basically totally focused on me, she still really involved DH too. Worth it’s weight in credit card gold!
Might I suggest a big fat bar of Galaxy this evening?

I’m unexpectedly off out for a big fancy dinner tonight - friends I haven’t seen in ages are in town and taking me out! Would be rude to say no, of course. Have smashing evenings all x

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 17:25

Thank you, @LokiCat, that means a lot :)
And yes, DH wasn’t happy that they made me cancel my appointment and take a half day!
It would have been worth it if it had of worked out, I guess.

Just sent an email off to get a private MOT booked in :) onwards and upwards!

LokiCat · 12/06/2019 17:14

@ELW85 I'm sorry the GP wasn't helpful. It is frustrating when they don't even try to understand/see if they can help and just try to refer you instead
I hope the private MOT is useful! It does sound like the best way to go.
Also how annoying that they cancelled your original appointment because your DH wasn't coming and then didn't even talk to him!
Please don't feel beat yourself up for crying over it. It doesn't matter if others are going through something worse, you're allowed to get upset and let out your frustration. Take care and be kind to yourself lovely x

@MrsEG @Lozzlepop thanks ladies!

@Lottiepink fingers crossed you're still in then! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 17:05

@starkid - definitely thinking a private MOT is the way to go, just for peace of mind or a way forward :)
18 months feels crazy as I’m going to be 35 at the start of next year, so I don’t really want to be pushed into a higher risk bracket.

starkid · 12/06/2019 17:02

@ELW85 - that really sucks to hear - 18 months! Maybe private with a specialist is the way forward, as you at least want a blood test done before then to rule certain things out like progesterone.

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 17:01

@purplefig @MrsEG thanks so much ladies!
I totally get that other people are in a much worse boat than I am, so I shouldn’t really feel frustrated but I ended up crying in a bathroom showroom today. What an idiot!!

But yes, you’re absolutely right - you can’t put a price on progress or peace of mind, so we’re going to go for a private MOT.
DH suggested it after the docs, and as much as he doesn’t want to go (he’s freaking out about the SA) it’s the right thing to do.

Thanks again for all of the support :) couldn’t be without you ladies!!

purplefig · 12/06/2019 16:51

@ELW85 sorry to hear that, how frustrating! It seems like so many ladies in this thread haven't had much luck with their GPs and fertility. I'd second @MrsEG and considering booking in for a private consultation with an actual specialist, that way you won't be fobbed off and they'll take your concerns seriously.

MrsEG · 12/06/2019 16:44

@ELW85 I’ve really had such a similar experience with GPs - it just isn’t their ‘bag’ at all it would seem. Whilst wonderful when I’ve had my BFPs when it has come to fertility issues they are hopeless. Could you look in to a private fertility MOT local to you? For that, mine was £275 and it means you have a private fertility specialist. I say go for it. Sorry it was such a waste of time - I really do know how frustrated you must be feeling.

And yes - they are so delicious I can’t make them often as I’ve been known to just sit and eat them directly from the tin 🤤
