Bfp not getting darker help

Hi, yesterday at I think 10dpo I got my bfp. I'm worried as my temp has steadily dropped and is now levelling our just above my cover line. I did another test this morning and it looks the same to me (the line is slightly fatter I think but no darker). Think this could be ok or not to get my hopes up? 😢
Top is yesterday's bottom is today's both fmu

@Whyhaveidonethis it's 6 days since I started bleeding we were away so I wasn't temping. Hopefully only getting ready, only stopped bleeding yesterday so if it's soon doubt there would be enough lining for implantation :(

@Jeds55
I've seen that as well and got my hopes up a little but no just checked and as negative as can be. Will see what happens over the next few days.

Hope that's true @Whyhaveidonethis re higher fertility
@Abi58 was going to mention that opk pick up hcg too. Have you had a negative test since the bleeding started (think you mentioned you went to doctors)? It took about 10 days from my positive to negative.

Saying that I did do some googling about CP and Ovulation and some women did ovulate really early/late after so it could be a genuine surge.

Whyhaveidonethis · 06/06/2019 21:11

@Abi58 are you 7 days since temps dropped? Maybe you are getting ready to ovulate again! Other thing is that OPKs can't necessarily distinguish hcg from LH and so will show a line for hcg rather than LH. So if you have some in your body still the OPK can pick it up. I'll try to find a link to an article....

Abi58 · 06/06/2019 21:05

Thanks everyone.

@Whyhaveidonethis 🤞🏻 that is true 😁

Oddly I had an urge to do an opk and it's not positive but there's a definite line there (mine are normally stark white until ov and back to stark again after) so just a bit odd. Any thoughts?

@Abi58 and @Jeds55 my period after my CP was really short and less heavy although I had a few days spotting that I don't normally have. I've now 3dpo with first cycle since my CP and I ovulated on cd15 rather than the more normal for me cd14. I read an article yesterday that said that the chances of a successful pregnancy after a chemical (in ivf though, not natural} are significantly higher than if you don't have a cp so maybe there is a sliver lining. X

Jeds55 · 06/06/2019 20:40

@Abi58 so sorry to hear this. Totally understandable to feel crap - its an emotional rollercoaster. My period after CP was actually less heavy than usual so hope yours is too. I've just entered my first tww since the CP (think I ovulated a day later than usual) and feeling ok about it now but trying not to get hopes too high with all the talk of increased fertility after.
Like you I do think the line darkness and progression, or lack of, are signs of something being wrong in most cases.

I hope we all get bfp soon xxx

yellowgreenbluepurple · 06/06/2019 17:35

So sorry Thanks

Abi58 · 06/06/2019 15:27

@Whyhaveidonethis exactly that 😢 thank you so much.

Hugs. I know exactly how you feel as this happened to me last month. It's just so horrible. You start to believe it is true then it is ripped away from you in. Heartbeat. Be kind to yourself. Talk about it if it helps. It did me. X

@ELW85 @tisonlymeagain
Thank you so much it means a lot. I'm gutted but trying to take the positive from this that I know we can get pregnant. Still bleeding and cramping and even though I'm telling myself it was so early I'm still quite upset. Haven't told anyone we had a positive so not really got anyone to talk to

Hi everyone, thought I'd update.

Unfortunately not good news. After worrying then being told it was fine I started bleeding over the weekend and dr confirmed today that I am no longer pregnant. This was a different gp and he also said there is no link between darkness of the line and how well the pregnancy is progressing however after seeing photos of them getting darker and my experience I will be wary if this happens again.

Thanks again for all of the advice and support.

@Abi58 yay, so happy for you that positive news. Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months xxx

Congratulations Abi xx

@Bol87 they can give an indication of gestational age due to the darkness of the line but not an exact figure of how much hCG there is.

Generally the FRERs do give you a reliable indication that your hormone levels are increasing well as they are so sensitive. I haven't found that other brands do. They can't however tell if you if a pregnancy will successfully progress. I had lovely strong lines in my first pregnancy that got darker every day but it ended in a MMC at 10 weeks. My friend had two early miscarriages and she knew something was wrong before she started to bleed in both pregnancies as the lines didn't get any darker.

Good luck and congratulations OP, hope everything goes well in your pregnancy.

Bol87 · 31/05/2019 22:53

Curious about the tests not detecting gestational age - are the digi tests a bit of a con then?! What are they measuring to tell you 2-3 weeks etc?

Got my fingers crossed for you!

ELW85 · 31/05/2019 19:03

That’s great, really pleased to hear it and congratulations again!!

Abi58 · 31/05/2019 15:08

Hi everyone, so the lines were still faint and this mornings possibly slightly fainter still! Went to the drs hoping to get a blood test to check levels we're raising but the dr told me that as long as I don't bleed or have symptoms of an ectopic the darkness of the line doesn't matter. Urine tests don't measure how much there is just whether it is there or not.

Dr took a urine sample there and did their test. At first it looked negative (although it was not my first wee and it was the palest I think I've ever done so was expecting negative) but then a line appeared, faint but darker and more definite than I've seen on my frers so apparently I'm pregnant!

Keeping everything crossed as it's still early days and there are always risks but for now my mind it put at rest and I can stop testing and stressing like a crazy woman!

Thank you all for your advise I really appreciate it!

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻😁

Found the below on flo as well:
Initially, hCG doubles every 2–3 days and reaches its maximum amount by the 8th–11th week of pregnancy. Urine tests for hCG (home tests) only detect its presence, not the amount. Thus, they cannot indicate the gestational age

@Abi58 - honestly my best advice might sound a bit harsh, but please take it in the helpful way I mean it...
I would stay off the forums for a few days.

Not to disrespect any of these ladies experiences, but if it was me, it would only stress me out, which isn’t good for you at all!

Try and relax and have a few days not thinking about it, and test on Saturday.
I totally realise it’s easier said than done!

Obviously, these forums are great for support and are an awesome community but nobody is in your exact situation right now, so as much as everyone wants to help, none of us can give you answers.
In a few days though, whatever the outcome is, everyone will be here for you xx

Whyhaveidonethis · 29/05/2019 17:23

@Abi58 yeah mine looked darker in life. I got my BFP on 11dpo and still had faint positives on CD17 when AF arrived. Let me know how you get on x
