TTC First Baby Thread 18 Already!

Morning ladies! Had a slight temp dip this morning, so I think ovulation is imminent.. still low on cb digital but the strip OPKs are starting to fade now..
DH was out early for work this morning and doesn't get back till 11.. will try to stay awake to DTD but seems unlikely 😭
Cute cats! Mine jumped up on me and woke me up at 7 this morning (have added photo). She is the cutest but very clingy!

@PippaPug My cb digital have even flashed yet, they're still only on empty circles! I'm going to continue testing with them. Will only stop with I get a sudden temp rise to suggest ovulation.
All these tests just seem to cause confusion, frustratingly!

@Lozzlepop ah sorry you felt low yesterday. Sometimes a good cry can get rid of that heavy feeling and make us feel a lot better. Your weekend plans sound lovely though, hope you're enjoying!
DH has been working this weekend so I've just been busy sorting the house out. May paint the bedroom walls to add some warmth!

@Kiza sorry AF showed up! AF was 5 days early for me last cycle as well, so I assumed I had missed ovulation and started BBT and using digital OPKs this cycle. I'd never had spotting/brown discharge before AF either so it was a weird cycle. Fingers crossed new cycle is your one 🤞🏽

@Marleym28 I can see a faint cross as well, but as you've said Sainsbury tests are notorious for false positive.. Are you able to get a FRER? Have everything crossed for you!!

@MrsEG glad you had a great time at the party! Sorry about your mums comments. I fee they think they're helping us, but they usually make things worse. When I had a mc, MIL asked DH if I had 'lifted something heavy' which caused the miscarriage. I was so angry that it seemed she was trying to blame me! Took a little while before I could brush it off and be ok with her.

@Louise190 I've always used the OPK strips (they work best with fmu and around 8pm for me - but most use it around 1/2pm) but figuring out the lines can always be a little confusing, so I tried the cb digital this cycle. They unfortunately haven't worked for me, but at least I know. I also started tracking my BBT which can help pin point if ovulation has happened (sharp increase after), so using along with an OPK can be helpful.
My CM changes every cycle. Generally it should be watery CM during fw week leading up to CM that looks like egg whites on your most fertile days. However, some cycles I only get watery cm.

@Louise190 I’ve only ever tried the CB digital ones as I find the idea of normal ones / reading lines too much; I’m bloody hopeless with reading line results! So thats why I got the Ava too, as it just records and average temp while you sleep. There are other ladies on the thread who use strip OPKs though who may be able to offer better advice!

Hi @MrsEG I am tracking BBT also. I had a really rubbish nights sleep around the time of suggested OV and it went through the roof so I couldn't use it! Perhaps that will be my best bet for future cycles? DP is convinced that the IC OPKs are rubbish but I'm wondering if I was using them at the wrong time/not often enough? So many variables and possibilities 😩🙈

@Louise190 Hello! Yep it can be so, so confusing - I also don’t get much CM so that makes it even more difficult! In the end I bought an Ava bracelet which also tracks body temperature - this worked amazing and the ovulation date matched what my CB digital OPKs said. I have a funny sleeping pattern so that’s why I went for Ava but you can also track body temps with a simple BBT thermometer too :)

As if after three losses I haven’t googled possible reasons why literally every single day!! I saw my Mum yesterday and told her off. All fine now (I hope). She’s desperate to find a reason and apparently spends ages on her laptop looking it up - which kind of broke my heart a bit.

Morning ladies! Just wondering if I can jump in to ask your thoughts on OPKs vs CB digital? This was my first cycle using OPKs and they confused me more than anything. I'm CD17, usual cycle length 27 days avg, and I've not got a positive but I have been one step away from it according to Glow. Anyway, I suppose what I'm wondering is: is there a clearer test or way to see when I ovulate? I've read about CM but I've had quite conflicting information about what it should look like at various stages! Any help would be much appreciated!

Morning ladies! Thanks for all your supportive comments yesterday I ended up having a bit of a wobble and a cry when we went out yesterday but feeling much better today! Think I can feel AF is not far away so just hoping she starts before the holiday!

We ended up going to our neighbours bbq yesterday which was nice and then had a chilled night in and are off for a family lunch today so all in all panning out to be a good weekend (minus the meltdown yesterday) how’s everyone's weekends going?

@Marleym28 I can see a cross, it's very faint but hopeful looking, maybe it's very faint cos you're testing early? Fingers crossed it's more of a stronger line when you fake another test tomorrow rather than Sainsbury's tests being rubbish and giving false hope!

@cupcakesandglitter so you peed on an opk just for fun? 😆😆😆 still keeping my fingers crossed for you for the hpt in a few days

Uuurrrggh so AF turned up for me this morning, 4 days early (I'm never early) and had that faint brown discharge for the last 10 days which I've also never had.
I swear before TTC I never had this much weirdness in my cycle 😫

Update on the below. I've just read a lot of bad press on the Sainsbury's ones with false pos
I've going to just sit with a sensible head and get a new test for tomorrow or better still just wait for AF

I'm 11dpo with AF expected wed.
Was going to hold off but ..basically didn't as my slight twingy ion got the better of me.
What are your thoughts pls? It's just a Sainsbury's own at the minute.

I don't think there is a cross but after seeing some BPFs on here I really question my self. I'm not good at the whole line thing. In real life the photo is a bit more dull but my cameras quite good on my phone so equally not sure if it's just photo trickery.

@ValidUser fingers crossed you get a BFN soon and then a BFP again 😂 oh god I wish, they love just following me around 😂 the girl likes to be a bit independent (except for when I'm in the bathroom she MUST come in and sit in the bath) but the boy will only sit on my lap or sleep when I'm sleeping 😂 ah that's interesting to know!! May have to rethink then!! XX

@ValidUser 😂😂😂 I suppose there's no point you doing OPKs to check because they'd come up positive too! Are you gonna have a scan/blood test to check? I love a cat picture ❤️ I'm okay with the fact I'm becoming a crazy cat lady 😂😂😂 my two have been following me around as soon as I came home 😂 xx

@Kiza I'm not sure, I mean we timed BD right going by cm, although I didn't have as much as last cycle. I'm pretty sure I have anovulatory cycles so this could be one of them... I don't really have any symptoms either other than a few niggles in my lower stomach but I never know if it's just gas or random twinges etc? I'm a POAS addict 😂 my pee has been super dark the last couple of days so figured wth, may as well pee on an OPK 😂 only have two left though so will use one a day. Hopefully AF turns up (or I get a BFP!!) I've not heard of positive OPKs but negative HPTs though, from what I understand if an OPK picks up HCG then it should be enough for a HPT. Honestly I can say a year down the line nothing fails to surprise me with TTC anymore!!

DHs SA letter came through the post today and his appointment is in July - I think we're going to not take any supplements until his SA, I know it's bad but I don't want the supplements to give him a good SA just for them to tell us to try for another year.... does that make me a bad person? 😩

Well DH and I have resumed baby making! Not intentionally to be fair and haven't obviously had a normal period yet since the MC. Was so lovely we hadn't had sex since falling pregnant. Let's see what happens I guess x

@validuser - do you think the CB ones aren’t very good? Your cat is looking very adorable! How long will you keep getting false BFPs?

@cupcakesandglitter do you think there's a chance you could be pregnant? Suppose I'm wondering if the opk is picking up your hcg? Out of curiosity how come you peed on an opk? 😄

@Kiza no idea 😂 my longest cycle since TTC is 35 days, but usually I get pre-AF spotting at least one day (sometimes two) before it turns up in full force. The positive OPK has thrown me off I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ xx

Sorry I have been quiet, had the start of PMS the last few days and today my period turned up (one day earlier then the clue app and three days earlier then flo)

@Lokicat - I bought the clear blue ovulation as well as the strip ones, they went positive before my CB flashing smiley and then when I got the static smiley face the strip ones wasn’t as strong?! I got a bit confused

Eurgh sorry @MrsEG that sucks - parents especially I think say what they think will help, but it actually never does. Never too early to open the wine - hope you've already done it!!!

CD32 for me, BFN again. Got a positive OPK this morning though? Super confused as I've not had my pre-AF spotting yet. Don't know what's going on 🤔

@orangeloo thanks for the reply. It's never happened to me before, maybe I get it the day before I'm due but certainly not 16 days before I'm due 🤷🏼‍♀️
