@ValidUser - how exciting!! I’ll be sending you positive vibes throughout!

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 15:29

@ELW85 next Monday I'll move from dipstick cheapies to pee on cheapies, and FRERs only if I see squinters!

Sorry, @ValidUser - I meant to include you in my response too, but agree, good to go together!
Is it next week you’ll be starting to test for reals? :)

ELW85 · 03/06/2019 14:58

@Purplefig - this is the thing, I’d told the lady on the phone that we didn’t need a fertility consultation as we hadn’t been trying for a year, but she said that it didn’t matter and they’d only see us together.

To be fair, I think they just need to gather histories and make sure we’re on the same page. It’s great that they have a consolidated approach too, as I guess these things are quite emotive so it’s nice to have both of you go through it together to balance each other out. Just need to get logged on nice and early on Friday to get a double appointment :)

dahlia123 · 03/06/2019 14:57

Happy birthday @MrsEG - ice cream at the beach sounds wonderful!

Fingers crossed the cramping is a good sign @purplefig

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 14:15

@purplefig apparently high progesterone in the 2ww causes trapped wind. (May not be the case for you, but I was once convinced AF was coming early and it was just constipation.) 😳

OP posts:
purplefig · 03/06/2019 14:14

I'm getting some very light cramping today and crossing all my fingers it's not AF as only 9dpo Confused

purplefig · 03/06/2019 14:13

@ValidUser ahhh I see! I'm holding out for 13dpo this cycle. In theory. Wink. This is also my first month temping, so guess if AF is coming I'll be alerted by temp drop anyway.

@ELW85 oh that is annoying - but may be useful in the long run? How long have you guys been trying again?

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 13:58

Good plan @ELW85!

It's good to get seen together but soooooo frustrating to have your appointment changed too!

Still getting faint BFPs from the trigger, but they are fading.

@ValidUser - he hasn’t actually, but it is really encouraging that they’re seeing us as a couple :)
DH has a child from his previous marriage, so in my head, I’m the blocker, but things change I guess.
We’re both quite pragmatic about things, so as long as we understand our scenario and options, we’ll be as positive as we can be I think.

I’m also like you and am a serial tester. Doing my OPKs this week to satiate the appetite 😂

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 13:04

@ELW85 has your DH/DP had a semen analysis yet? It was my gynaecologist who sorted ours, even before he saw me.

OP posts:
ValidUser · 03/06/2019 12:51

@purplefig I'm testing daily at the moment because I'm waiting for the trigger shot to wash out of my system. Saving the FRERs for at least 10dpo, though!

Interesting that you prefer AF to a BFN. I'm the opposite, hence my serial testing even before the injections.

ELW85 · 03/06/2019 12:41

@Purplefig - I booked the apt on line and they called to say because I’d cited ‘conception’ that they’d only see us as a couple, so it was cancelled at the doctor’s request.
I’m trying to stay positive about it, but I wish I’d just said it was my cycle :(

purplefig · 03/06/2019 12:30

@ELW85 oh that is frustrating! Is DH going in for anything specific? Agree with you about all the conflicting info - it's such a pain.

@MrsEG your day sounds so good! Have a fab birthday llovely.

@LokiCat Thanks! I don't feel positive or negative about whether it'll happen this month - just grateful be managed to cover ovulation before I was away!

LokiCat · 03/06/2019 12:06

@FlapJackered @MrsEG @purplefig thanks ladies. DTD on the day I got a positive OPK, didn't yesterday as DH didn't get home till very late. Will hopefully try tonight when we're both home! Has been every other day so far, so hopefully we'll catch it 🤞🏽

@MrsEG enjoy the beach! I wish we had one near us, I love walking along the beach.

@purplefig fingers crossed no AF on Friday and you get your bfp!!

@ELW85 that's a bit frustrating that they cancelled your appointment, especially as it was mostly for you. Hope you can get one soon for both of you!

Have the worst back ache for some reason! I rarely ever get them.
Did some baking last night and have brought in the chocolate cookies to work so have made colleagues very happy (had to get them out of the house otherwise I'd eat them all!!)

ELW85 · 03/06/2019 12:04

@MrsEG - they’re book on the day appointments, and so I think we’ll aim for Friday as DH and I have the afternoon off together :)
Your birthday sounds fantastic, and I hope there is a reasonable amount of cake to follow that 99 in your future!! Xx

MrsEG · 03/06/2019 11:16

Hello @purplefig Welcome back! 13DPO is totally reasonable to test, shouldn’t be any guess work at that stage so at least you’ll know for sure. I will keep fingers and toes crossed for you! Well done on the avoidance of SS too - it helped me to know I don’t even really get symptoms until about at least 12DPO anyway so people just torture themselves for no reason!! Good luck 🤞🏻

@ELW85 How rubbish your appointment was cancelled, have you managed to get the joint one booked in? Agreed it sounds good they are going to look in to both of you though!

Thanks for the birthday wishes ladies, just waiting impatiently for DH (he had to work a half day this morning) then off to the beach we go - there is a 99 in my future and I cannot wait haha! Have a lovely Monday ladies xx

MrsH497 · 03/06/2019 10:55

Happy birthday @MrsEG have a wonderful day x

ELW85 · 03/06/2019 10:30

@Purplefig - welcome back!!
I had an appointment with the docs today but they called to cancel it as it wasn’t a double appointment with DH. So now I have to get him to arrange time off to come with me. Seems a bit extreme as it’s my LP we’re discussing, but maybe it’s a good thing as it sounds like they want to assess both of us?

If I use the day of O as day 1 of my luteal phase, it’s 12-13 days, so worst case it’s 11, but I’ve found more articles that confirm LP starts on day of O.

Also interesting to see that there are studies that show a gradual rise in temp isn’t indicative of an LP deficiency. There are so many contradictory papers, it’s hard to know if you’re fine or in need of help!!

@MrsEG - happy birthday!!!

purplefig · 03/06/2019 10:06

@Marleym28 Congratulations!!! I have just been playing catch up and was great to see your Sainsburys test lead to a positive FRER!

@MrsEG HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Your cinema night sounds amazing and the beach with the dog is the best way to celebrate.

@ELW85 I think you're right in that 11 day LP might be pushing it, as implantation can happen up to 12 days. Let us know how you get on with the docs, I'd be so interested to hear what they say.

@PippaPug sorry to hear about your period arriving early - it's always a shock isn't it?! Might turned up early and totally out of the blue last month - no cramping or anything. Really startling!

@ValidUser not sure about your graph tbh, I'm a totally temping noob though! When are you planning to test?

@Jessikka Happy DH jumping Wink

@LokiCat FWIW I didn't get a sharp jump in temp this cycle, it gradually built over a few days. According to 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' it's quite normal.

Happy Monday everyone! I'm 9dpo and doing excellently at avoiding symptom spotting if I do say so myself. Possibly because there aren't really any to spot! Boobs are sore, but they quite often are pre AF. I am finding temp checking now a bit nervy....keep expecting it to plummet.

Speaking of which, if I don't get my period by Friday (13dpo) I'm going to test as we're away with friends and there'll be alcohol involved. Nervous at the prospect as haven't tested in forever...prefer to wait for AF as I find a stark white BFN far more depressing.

MrsEG · 03/06/2019 09:43

@LokiCat @cupcakesandglitter @Lozzlepop @FlapJackered Thanks ladies :) Off to the beach today with DH and the dog!

@LokiCat As @FlapJackered says just keep DTD until your temp rises!

@Lozzlepop We have been the same, taking a cycle off so we can get some answers before we try again. Yep, I was told that if AF didn’t show by 6 weeks to call the GP, but it came at 5 weeks so never needed to. 🤞🏻 it shows up and doesn’t ruin your hols!!

cupcakesandglitter · 03/06/2019 09:13

Happy birthday @MrsEG 🎁🥳 xx

Lottiepink · 03/06/2019 09:06

Morning everyone, happy Monday!

Been a bit absent as I had a long weekend with the girls. Was brilliant but I am struggling today 😆

Have had a flick through but it moves so fast, I haven't really had time to check through so sorry for not replying.

I did see @Marleym28 bfp though, 🤞🏻 for you!

I'm currently 3dpo so just a waiting game 😊

Lozzlepop · 03/06/2019 08:56

Happy Monday Ladies!! Hope everyone has had a great weekend! Last day in the office for me today so I am loving Monday this week 😂

@MrsH497 I bled for about a week, continually feel like she is coming, my back is sore but nothing so far 🤷🏽‍♀️

@MrsEG Happy Birthday!!!! Hope you have an amazing day ahead 🙂so if AF doesn't appear by 6 weeks should I be calling the Dr? We actually watched Fleabag before finding out and even then I thought it was an insensitive subject! I am actually hoping AF shows as we did say we would give it one cycle but like you say it was nice just to DTD for fun for a change and not for TTC.

Ladies I have a question for you, I have had a letter through about my smear test, I read somewhere online that you should wait 3 months after a MC before having one, does anyone know if this is correct?

FlapJackered · 03/06/2019 07:59

@LokiCat it can be normal I had the same this cycle it took a while for the temp to go up. You have just got to keep Dtd! I read a study the other day where it said that the temp rise can often occur 2 days after ovulation. Also it can take up to 36 hours to ovulate after a positive opk. It is not very helpful for working out ovulation! 😬
I just kept DingTD until the temp went up just to be sure. I am sure it will soon! X

@MrsEG Happy Birthday!!!! 🎉 🎂 I hope you've got some more fun bucket list plans for today. X
