Thanks @Fivebyfive2. It's all so individual really, isn't it?

I love this group so much. And I say that with no coffee or wine, but lots of Brazil nuts in my system.

@MrsEG Happy Birthday! Hope you had a lovely day and a double flake sounds wonderful! X

Fivebyfive2 · 03/06/2019 19:22

@Validuser, if it is any help, the first time we told family and very close friends, who knew we were trying. My work ladies all cottoned on as well, especially when I had to start going for scans etc. But all were such good support when it went wrong (a few mil issues, but what can ya do?!) This time we've only told the parents & my bro and sil (who I work with, so helps cover for when needed, with questions etc!) I also told my best friend who has had recurrent miscarriages, as she is very wise and great support. It does feel like it's going quicker this time, with less people knowing and asking about it all the time! But also nice to have those closest to us knowing 🙂 You'll do what feels right for you guys when it happens xxxx

Kiza · 03/06/2019 19:19

@starkid I haven't read any thing about B6 but have been reading lost about Maca root so I've dragged mine out from the back of the cupboard and am going to mix it in my morning decaf coffee. About to go and read up on B6 now.
I also read a study that when men took 1000mg if vit C it increased the quality and motility of their sperm massively. So the mister is going to double is daily orange intake! 😆🤞🏼

@Lozzlepop I admire your strength of not testing but understand that AF is somewhat better than that stark white line of a bfn. When is AF due for you again?

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 19:09

@MrsEG all that was done for me in one simple internal ultrasound. Hope you get some answers. X

@ValidUser Only immediate family. We told parents and siblings each time, who were all a complete godsend when the worst then happened. I’m not sure I’d have wanted to be letting every man and his dog know about that though at the time, so we were glad it was just family at that stage. Next time we’ve agreed to keep it to ourselves until we (hopefully!) get to that successful 7-week scan, which I know now we’re entitled to. I think it’s incredibly personal though to each individual - I have a friend who told absolutely no one until 20 weeks!!

@purplefig So on a Thursday it’s the below tests:

Your egg reserve - looking at the follicle (developing egg) count and ovary volume.

The health of your uterus, endometrium (womb lining), ovaries and follicles by examining the blood flow to each.

Polyps, fibroids & cysts or other factors that could be affecting implantation or causing miscarriages.

All sounds very official and scary haha. I just hope we get SOME kind of answer from it.

purplefig · 03/06/2019 18:44

@ValidUser I hear ya! I'm going to wait a week or so and then tell my parents but otherwise keep it on the down low until 12 week scan. We haven't told anyone we're trying and tbh the only people I'd want to support me through anything going wrong is my husband and my parents. I love my best friend dearly, but she lives miles away and somehow I don't think text/phone support would cut it. Oh god....didn't even realised I've already planned this Grin . C'mooooon BFPs!!!!

dahlia123 · 03/06/2019 18:38

@ValidUser I think some of the people who know we're trying. Especially as next time we're seeing them is for a boozy weekend away and there will be no hiding.

dahlia123 · 03/06/2019 18:37

Glad to hear you're feeling optimistic @Dollywilde. Definitely have had those conflicting feelings too.

Sod's law it'll be timed for your holiday @Lozzlepop - hoping not though!

Good luck testing on Friday @FlapJackered

@MrsEG nice work on the double flake! Well deserved after that walk. Agree with you and @purplefig - hate seeing a BFN.

Have just read an article on Fertility Friend which said something which horrified me (see attached pic) Maybe you ladies are aware, but I do kegels after sex to try and help the swimmers up. Stopping those from now on!

@MrsEG sounds like a lovely birthday!

Anyone else here planning to tell people immediately on getting their BFP? For us, loads of people know we're trying, with the surgery and injections and whatnot. Also, if things were to go wrong, I'd rather have the support of people who knew.

At this point I'm not sure I even have the energy for secrecy!

@MrsEG glad you had an awesome day and excellent news re: the double flake. It's only right on your birthday! Do you know what is happening on the Thursday at the Fertility MOT? Thanks for the reassurance re: cramps. I was doing so well ignoring everything until they started and now of course I'm back to studying countdowntopregnancy.co.uk and considering testing tomorrow which is just silly, as like you, I can't bear BFNs.

MrsEG · 03/06/2019 18:10

Thanks lovely ladies for the birthday wishes! Had a super day at the beach, walked over 12km and finished off with a double-cone 99; told the ice cream man it was my birthday and I got an extra flake too ;)

@ELW85 Hope it all goes well on Friday! I agree I think it’s better for it all to happen together - DH is coming to my fertility MOT on Thursday, he won’t be having any tests but like you say, we’re both in this together!!

@LokiCat cookies sound amazing! I love baking, I find it so therapeutic

@ValidUser I am the same as @purplefig, I can’t bear BFNs and would rather AF just turned up than having to see one. It’s each to their own though!

@purplefig With all my BFPs I got cramping, although nearer to AF due date, but still - here’s to hoping it’s a good sign! It’s frustrating though as it can also be an AF sign, or as mentioned above can just be wind! It frustrates me NO END that preg and AF symptoms are basically identical. There should be some differences surely!! Good luck for Friday. Keeping everything crossed for you!

@Dollywilde Sorry to hear AF was so upsetting for you. Try to remember you’re only cycle 3 so early days and I am sure that BFP will be yours soon!

@Lozzlepop how annoying!! Have you considered testing just in case, or do you just want to wait it out?

FlapJackered · 03/06/2019 18:07

@starkid fingers crossed! I have heard good things about b6 so hopefully it helps!

@Lozzlepop she will definitely arrive in time for your holiday then 😂😂. Af is a witch! Fingers crossed your holiday is safe! When/where are you going?
I am good thanks, 8dpo and desperately trying to keep my mind on other things. I am going to test on Friday as I am going to London for the weekend and 3 parties, one of which starts in a sushi restaurant, so if I am pregnant it is going to be interesting hiding it 😬

Lozzlepop · 03/06/2019 17:51

@FlapJackered just noticed I didn’t tag you correctly in the above post cos the tram shoogled! Also - how are you? Rude of me not to ask!

Fivebyfive2 · 03/06/2019 17:49

Hi ladies, just wanted to pop on to say Happy Birthday @MrsEG 🎂🎉😃

@Validuser, I will definitely be monitoring the thread to see your updates, got everything crossed for you!! Xxx

purplefig · 03/06/2019 17:32

@Lozzlepop I hear you, mine have varied from 27 days to 36 days since coming off of BC which makes timing things a bit tricky! I do recall in Taking Charge of your Fertility the author said that by 18dpo of high temps you can be fairly sure you're pregnant. So provided you are on 15dpo, hopefully within the next 3 ish days you'll either get your period of BFP.

Lozzlepop · 03/06/2019 17:20

@purplefig well that’s a difficult one, first cycle off BC was 33 days then second cycle I got my BFP on CD 28! I’m Currently 15DPO

@ FlapJackered I have some back pain and slightly sensitive nipples and that’s it 😒 just want to know if she’s coming or not as wanted here to have been and gone for the majority of the holiday which isn’t looking likely now 🤦🏽‍♀️

starkid · 03/06/2019 17:05

@FlapJackered - no, temping wouldn't work for me as often wake up for the loo an hour or two before my alarm, so wouldn't be accurate. I did try for a bit and was useless >.< I don't mind so long as my luteal phase gets a tiny bit longer/less spotting before AF, which is what I was aiming for...

FlapJackered · 03/06/2019 17:03

@Lozzlepop sorry af is being illusive. It's horrible being in limbo. I am sure she will turn up at the most annoying moment. Have you got any pms symptoms?

FlapJackered · 03/06/2019 17:01

@starkid great to hear from you! It is hard to keep up isn't it!
It's weird you say that as I was considering taking extra b6 next cycle. I know @KatBeCool has done research into this so might be able to share her wisdom?
If you have tested that much I doubt you have missed it. Are you temping too?

purplefig · 03/06/2019 17:00

@Dollywilde Glad you're feeling brighter, though I'm sorry to hear your weekend was impacted by the pregnancy news. I think if TTC has taught me anything (beyond patience hahaa) it's that two things can be true at once. You can be pleased for your friends who have struggled with IVF etc., but you can also be sad for yourself because it's what you want. I do think the TTC journey can sometimes make people feel a little jaded - I've seen threads where people have felt like other people haven't 'deserved' their BFPs etc - and I think that's when it becomes a problem/toxic.

@Lozzlepop Any sign of her at all? What has been your longest cycle before this? And do you know when you ovulated (as I think LP is rarely longer than 18 days)?

@starkid I don't have any experience but hoping you get your positive OPK soon, I bloody hate having to dehydrate myself!

starkid · 03/06/2019 16:50

@marleym28 - congratulations!! :)

I feel guilty as I'm so lax will keeping up on here anymore :(

But I had a question - has anyone else tried taking extra B6 during their cycle? I'm taking 50mg (along with the little extra in pregnacare) and wondering if it's delaying ovulation for me- has that happened for anyone else?

Having a look on Clue I usually get a positive opk around CD14-16, and am on cd16 and still negative. They were almost positive on Saturday, so even though I tested 3 times that afternoon/evening I wonder if I missed it, as it's gotten fainter since :-/

I'll test again at home around 6pm and 8.30pm and see what's happening, ans try not to drink anything else now... always fun and games eh! Grin

Lozzlepop · 03/06/2019 16:47

Day 38 and still no sign of AF even after an intense Gym Class which I thought may induce her arrival, starting to get frustrated now 🙁

Dollywilde · 03/06/2019 16:19

Hello all, popping up to say hello again. Final day of AF today, CD5 and feeling a little more optimistic - cycle 3 is going to be the magic number for us (maybe!) Catching up on the streams of messages but first off happy birthday @mrseg and oh my goodness congratulations @marleym28! Delighted for you Smile

Lots of crying when AF arrived last Thursday and then on Friday we found out that DH's best friend and his wife are expecting. I'm frigging over the moon for them because this is their second round of IVF and they've been dealt a pretty shit hand with other factors of the years and while obviously we all deserve our BFPs for them I felt like it was super duper deserved. However, that put a bit of a dampner on our weekend as we were a bit sad for ourselves. I've been pretty crabby and DH has been too, we've kissed and made up though and had a nice weekend in the sun.

Just occurred to me while typing this that the day AF arrived ending cycle 1 a friend announced a pregnancy and then cycle 2 AF DH's best mate announced the day after! Our TTC seems to be making everyone more fertile... I wonder who we'll get announcing when AF appears this month? (Could it be us? [optimistic face!])

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 15:40

Thanking you @ELW85! ❤️
