TTC First Baby Thread 18 Already!

@purplefig @MrsEG the tattooist was amazing he knew what the ribbon meant as him and his wife had been through miscarriage as well it's so delicate and beautiful

@MrsEG it's 1000% your + DH's call and I don't want to nudge you one way or another. But to decide, it might be worth imagining the outcomes of multiple possibilities to see how you feel. E.g. Is the potential of a BFP and successful pregnancy, at this stage, worth putting up with the risk of another potential MC. Equally, is waiting 10 weeks to get answers worth delaying TCC by 2+ months? It's your call. Maybe like you say, you could track again and if you see your ovulating you might get a sense in your gut of whether or not you want to try. Hope this ramble is helpful and doesn't come across as too clinical. Really have got everything crossed for you lovely ❤️

@purplefig Are you away for work or pleasure? Have you been DTD the last few days as a just in case? If you miss it, you miss it - it happened to me last year that I was away with work the exact 4 days I needed to be home - it was actually nice in the end to have a few weeks not thinking about it.

@ELW85 Caroline is lovely! We had rabbits as kids and they were amazing. I have a Husky now so can’t have any other animals as he’s a bloody nightmare - he even killed a bird in our garden once 🙊 He’s a big soft teddy bear in reality but he’s huge so at least he scares off any burglars!!

@dahlia123 Enjoy the Galaxy lovely, the local bakery has taken a beating from me this week - I should just open an account with them at this point!!

@PaintingOwls Don’t feel bad, it’s a completely normal reaction. I feel like I’ve been punched when I see a baby / pregnancy announcement. It’s just natural when someone else has something you so badly want.

@cupcakesandglitter Ah How frustrating. We have our tests at the GP next week although I’ve no clue what said tests are.

@MrsH497 So Glad to hear you’re feeling better - do you have any pics of the tattoo?

Ladies I don’t know what to do with myself at the moment. I feel so much better post-MC already but our appointment for the recurrent clinic could be as long as 10 weeks away. We’ve been told we can keep trying in the meantime as 50% of cases are unexplained but of course, we could end up having an issue. The doctors did say if we got a BFP before our appt, we could just try taking a low dose aspirin to give us a better shot. But I just don’t know what to do. Tempted to get the OPKs out this weekend and see if I’m ovulating and part of me just desperately wants to give it a go. But another part of me is terrified!!

@cupcakesandglitter corrrr that sounds so annoying. It's like they don't get how big of a deal this whole thing is?

@ELW85 I am going promise. Just had to nip on for a quick whinge. OPKs suddenly decided to darkening just in time for me leaving tomorrow 🙄🙄🙄 will DTD tonight and tomorrow AM but no doubt will almost perfectly miss ovulation 👍🏼 ah well, always wanted a spring baby 😂

@cupcakesandglitter rant away! I'm ok bleeding seems to have stopped got headaches and tired at the moment. Had my tattoo this morning it was nice to just talk about nugget and how I was feeling. Saw my mum for the first time xx

@MrsH497 I'm okay thankyou, DH got his SA results back earlier and his morphology and mobility is low but the GP reckoned this is due to a cold DH has a couple of weeks before he seemed a bit passive tbh, when I asked more questions the GP said "well it only takes one sperm so it's a bit weird when we're focusing on only a few".... Anyhow, they're referring DH back for another SA so we'll see. Feel a little deflated and in limbo I guess, I just want an answer. Sorry for the rant - how are you? xxx

@dahlia123 Could be dodgy...they are getting darker though. Will see what today's says around 2pm. I've only taken to checking mine now I'm on cycle 9. I swear this is the magic number for going batshit. Could've had a baby by now....but instead I'll start franking peeing on all the sticks / ODing on vits / getting to know my cervix intimately. Ahh the joys of TTC.

@Mrskcam - absolutely everything crossed for you :)

@Purplefig - Caroline is the sweetest thing ever. She just wants cuddles (for now) and if she doesn’t cheer him up, he’s got a heart of stone, haha!

I haven't been OPKing all cycle....so could have well missed it. Tbh this month was always going to be an odd one with me going away potentially over ov etc., so I'm just going to go all in next month and OPK and temp like a maniac. I WILL PINPOINT OVULATION, DAMNIT. (#thingswesaynow).

@Purplefig - I’ve decoded to call the bunny Caroline. Don’t ask me why! She’s kind of a caramel colour and that’s the limit to my rationale, haha! I’ll post a photo of her :) she’s going to be a companion for our Netherland Dwarf house rabbit as he’s a miserable old f’er and everyone deserves happiness.

@PaintingOwls Don't feel like a shit person. It sucks, but that is a pretty normal reaction when you're in the trenches of TTC. It is possible to be both happy for her, but sad for yourself - two things can be true at once. Be kind to yourself please. xxxxxxx

SIL just told me she's pregnant again and I burst into tears in the middle of the office. Currently hiding in toilets feeling like a shit person.

@dahlia123 hahaha oh god you're so right. They should also add: wine, tissues and hot water bottles. I really am a walking cliche. Big hugs to you both.

@ELW85 Hope Crossfit goes well tonight for you...fueled by delicious curry! Also VERY invested in your new rabbit already. Have you had one before? Sorry you're feeling pre-menstrual, it sucks. For what it's worth, in my experience it's less disheartening to see the arrival of AF than a stark white BFN, especially if you're already kinda guessing she's en route. That said, you really do never know and as they love to say on these threads 'it's not over until AF arrives'.

@dahlia123 @ELW85 hmmmm maybe I have ovulated then! But I've done OPKs the last 3 days and all clearly negative + I'm still getting quite a bit of EWCM. Also doesn't your cervix close up shop pretty sharpish post ov? Mine is still pretty open (from what I can tell). I'll see what today's OPK says...the few times I've done them they do get progressively darker so that's handy at least.

Also, @dahlia123, sorry to hear you also feel like you're about to start your period. As I said to @ELW85, you never can be sure until AF arrives though.

@ELW85 like @purplefig said, the crappy stuff after the disappointment of another cycle going by is so unfair. After the doom and gloom comes the spots, pain and bleeding. 🙄

Will be bulk buying some galaxy. Have wondered why they don't have a chocolate section next to the pads and tampons in the supermarket aisles. They're missing an easy upsell there.
