TTC First Baby Thread 18 Already!

I'm heading off on hols in a few mins but just wanted to pop on and say I've just done an OPK and got a positive!!!! Managed to DTD last night and this AM so will be more covered than I thought given I'm now away for 4 days 🙌🏻 still may miss it but at least we're in with a shot.

For anyone thinking of tracking things a bit more closely (eg. BBT, CM, cervix etc.) I really recommend giving it a go. I previously haven't done much at all, to avoid become "obsessed" but actually I just feel a bit more in the know and confident that my body is doing all the right stuff. Right. Must scram. Have a banging bank holiday everyone (literally 😏) xxx

@XjustagirlX lovley, we have friends in Turkey just now! We are off to Majorca a week on Wednesday and imagine will be doing pretty much the same!

@Dollywilde yes although at 5dpo I had a weird bleed which was waayyyy too early for implantation so now I'm worrying that there's just something wrong

@mrskcam oh I’m sorry - big unmunsnetty hugs. I know they say you’re not out until AF so there’s a bit of hope but can see why you’re feeling a bit . Are you usually mega regular?

Thanks ladies for all the positive comments I love my tattoo. It didn't hurt anywhere near as much as I imagined. Anyone thinking of a similar there's quite a few on google I just mashed a couple together!

Enjoying the weather and not being at work with no pressure on me to go back until I'm ready.

@Dollywilde I feel like your symptoms are the lack of are similar to mine this cycle. I don't feel much at all and anything I do I can easily explain away. Scared to test in a bit because I don't want to be disappointed because I really don't even feel like I could be pregnant. Really hope this isn't my body being cruel to me, off to the shops to go get a test!

@mrskcam oh I'm so excited for you! I had a Flo notification today "A fresh cycle will start in a few days...", I'm sincerely hoping that's not the case

Coming towards the end of TWW now. Don't really have any symptoms except some back ache which I was attributing to the cystitis but doesn't seem to have gone away. Although frankly sitting at a desk 8 hours a day is enough to give you backache! That said I also don't seem to have any AF symptoms yet (she's due Weds).

DH keeping me on the straight and narrow of not testing until Monday. In a funny sort of way though I don't want to test because I don't want the disappointment of a BFN. It's almost like until I get the result I'm half pregnant, half not? And I don't want that 'half' chance taken away from me. Schrodinger's pregnancy...

Anyone got any nice plans for the BH weekend? I'm at a 30th on Saturday night, chilling on Sunday and then Monday is test day and (equally important to DH I think!) playoff final day! So we'll be in the pub watching it as DH couldn't get a Wembley ticket. I've never wanted to not be able to drink more!

@lozzlepop we are off to Turkey. I can’t wait. I just want to spend all week reading my books and DTD.

I’ve started doing the opk strips. Only done 3 days but then I realised they should be done in the afternoon or evening. I was doing them at 6:30am!

Just thought I would tell everyone in case anyone else has made the same mistake as me.

Also we are literally booking a holiday today to go next Wednesday. So excited 😆 it will hopefully take my mind off the TWW

@MrsEG It's mad at the time I thought wow I will never get over this but time really is a healer! Yes that sounds like a good plan! Thanks lovely! I am really in 2 minds if I want to have caught this month as want to enjoy all the sangria on the holiday, AF due (prediction) 2days before we go 😂

@Lozzlepop Yep; at the time you can’t think about it at all and literally days later you’re checking an app to see when you might Ov!

We’ve decided to at the very least take this month off, just relax. I’d really like to get the appointment as once under them I’ll get amazing antenatal care (bi-weekly scans in first trimester) so I’m hoping the appointment comes in sooner rather than later! @MrsEG thanks for sharing, I was thinking it may be for blood thinning as I remember my grandparents taking it for this reason. Its funny how quickly you begin to feel ready to try again when at the time its the worst experience! I hope you are feeling ok about everything I would say listen to your body and maybe don't use OPKs just yet, maybe try a relaxed approach for this cycle and try OPKs the next as I know 10weeks is a long time to wait.

@Mrskcam If AF is late, you can take a test at any time of the day :)

@Lozzlepop So, I’ve had three MCs now which suggests a possible issue, especially as two of them were natural losses with a heavy blood loss. So one possible reason could be my blood is too thick, so taking a very low-dose aspirin thins the blood and gives me a better shot. But please, please don’t take my word for it - the nurses have okay’ed me to try it as we’ve had recurrent losses but I would definitely ask a doctor before trying anything!

On a possible side note as I don't think it is related but does anyone know of any reasons why a persons skin can become suddenly prone to bruising? The last 4 days I've found I bruise like a peach!! To the point where I'm starting to get little paw print bruises from my kitty jumping on my lap??

Just catching up with all the posts as we so busy at work yesterday I barely had time to breathe let alone check in!

@purplefig I am glad to soo someone else's positive OPK just appears from nowhere! Hope you managed to DTD as planned!

@MrsEG can I ask why they recommend taking aspirin? I feel exactly the same I really wanted to give myself one full cycle before trying again but turns out we did DTD the day before OV day and on the day and terrified if it turns out by some fluke we do get a BFP this cycle!

I am so glad its almost the weekend, it's been such a long week! Going holiday shopping tomorrow and then to see friends on Sunday so shaping up to be a nice weekend! What's everyones plans?

No AF as of yet and usually I would've woken up to her or at least some spotting or cramping .... nada. Will get a test last on today if nothing happens.
