How was everyone’s bank holidays?
@orangeloo I have had pregnancy dreams for months and months, even though we have just started TTC this month, I don’t think you can help it though, do you go to bed thinking about pregnancy/babies?

Does anyone have any views on taking painkillers whilst TTC? I have damaged my back somehow and it’s so incredibly painful, so I have been taking paracetamol as well as a heat patch but it’s not really taking the edge off it, I’m trying to resist ibruopfen however as I read it’s not great to take, however in the last 48 hours my nipples have start to hurt when I’m sleeping (wake up with pain) which is normally a sign my period is about to start (just not normally 8/9 days early) so I’m not sure to take something stronger or not!

orangeloo · 28/05/2019 08:56

@PaintingOwls GrinGrin hahaha that is very funny lol. No probably not, naughty brains adding to our own disappointment.

On another note someone I read said they had 'fizzy' boobs the month they got a bfp. I'm not really sure what that means but I did have one 'fizzy' nipple yesterday lol so fingers crossed.

PaintingOwls · 28/05/2019 08:24

orangeloo

I had a dream that I was breast feeding and squirting my boob like a water gun last night. I'm never sure how to take these dreams! I don't think there's anything you can do to actually control dreams though, is there? It's just your subconscious mind writing through stuff.

orangeloo · 28/05/2019 07:23

Morning everyone! Had one of those amazing and cruel pregnancy dreams last night Sad beautiful pink lines on a FRER ... only to wake up. I definitely have a Preggo dream each tww - maybe more than one. If anyone has tips to avoid dreaming about this they will be greatly received haha.

Have a good day all. X

cupcakesandglitter · 27/05/2019 23:00

Just got back from watching Hugh Jackman oh my godddddd how amazing!!! On a massive high from tonight!!

@FlapJackered I think I may do! We've decided when AF comes we're going to throw everything at it, we have until August as it will have been (time wise) a year then, so I'm not going to the GP until then. Should give me two cycles to try! X

@Lozzlepop definitely! It's stressful for both in a couple and I guess men have it just as bad - although it's 'easier' to see what the issue might be with them, they only have one job I guess x

@Lola871 wow!!! Well done, I bet it was a nice walk? X

Yessss @Dollywilde UTV!!! 😂 xx

ELW85 · 27/05/2019 21:52

@Fivebyfive2 - you’re totally right! I had some blue cheese cos...why not?! Hopefully I’ll have to go without it for 9 months soon :)

@ReluctantRunner - welcome!

orangeloo · 27/05/2019 20:23

Welcome @ReluctantRunner

Ah @Bettythecat cool yes I'd be up for trying those as like you say even if it just relaxes me when that's a bonus!! X

Bettythecat · 27/05/2019 20:02

Welcome @ReluctantRunner ! It helps to have people to vent to for sure- it can be a lonely old ride.

Bettythecat · 27/05/2019 20:01

@ValidUser good luck with your shot and baby making!

@orangeloo it was me with the crystals!! Worth a shot! I found a fertility visualisation on YouTube and put the stones on my ovaries and laid on the bed and did the visualisation 😂😂. Sounds totally deranged but I guess if it does nothing but relax you it's worth it!

@Fivebyfive2 I'm having some red wine tonight and a film. My DH cooked me his signature roast chicken, we've both had a cry😳 and now it's time for some chill time!

ReluctantRunner · 27/05/2019 20:00

Hi All. Long time lurker on this thread and wondering if it ok to join.

My stats are below:

TTC: #1
Age: 27
Cycle: 3/ 5 (3 properly trying but 5 without protection)
DPO 1

I had my implant out last October but waited a little while to start to allow cycles to even out. I think it's got to the point where I'd like to able to talk to people going through similar things and help keep my sane in the tww (serial early tester and symptom spotter here, I've had to get my dp to hide the tests as I hate the disappointment I feel when I get a BFN).

Wishing you all the best of luck!

orangeloo · 27/05/2019 19:57

@Fivebyfive2 thank you! and I feel u for everyone having a crappy time. I had a few tears this morn as had some brown discharge as usual so pretty sure I'm out this month. I had a few drinks over the weekend too and got guilt about that.

Someone on here said they ordered fertility crystals and I did the same today, thought it was a pretty inexpensive thing to try. DP will officially think I've lost the plot however.

I just try and keep telling myself now I will have a baby I just don't get to choose when. Good luck and babydust to all xx

Dollywilde · 27/05/2019 19:46

@fivebyfive2 thank you! And I completely agree with what you’re saying. It’ll happen, it just wasn’t our month. Smile

Fivebyfive2 · 27/05/2019 19:43

So sorry to hear so many are having a tough time. Love to you all!!

@cupcakesandglitter, bless you and your dh, but it sounds like getting everything out in the open has helped a little xx

I won't tag everyone because my phone will probably just have a flid half way through, but to everyone having a crappy day and feeling down... You are all amazing, strong, kind ladies who deserve a happy ending and I'm sure, one way or another, will get there! There are so many options available, so don't give up hope XXX But if ttc is getting you down, don't feel guilty for having a little break! Drink the wine, eat the brie, dance on a table, laugh at the stupid cat video... I honestly think if it's getting you down too much, it can't be good for anyone. I do get the need to power through though so sorry if that sounded a bit tone deaf. I'm rambling now, so will stop! Love you all though! Xx

@Dollywilde... Up the Villa!! I honestly think I heard my bro cheering all the way from Wembley when they won!! Xx

ValidUser · 27/05/2019 19:40

@Lozzlepop the follicles are like little blisters on the ovary that release eggs.

@Lola871 I get scanned on Wednesday, trigger shot of hCG and hope for a baby!

Thank you @FlapJackered at least we know someone else out there is feeling exactly the same as us right now and it affects us all similarly 💜. I know what you mean about it all being a distant dream too- I keep writing about it in my diary imagining that I'll look back in a few years time and think how far away it seems with my children close to me. I'm sure I could get IVF on the NHS but I had thought that they generally make you wait 2 years (maybe totally wrong?) and then you only get one cycle? Also I think I would be tempted to jump the queues by paying for it as I know how the waiting game kills me.

Thanks @Lola871 - I've been so emotional the last few days I think it's another sure sign I'm about to get af. Your walk sounds crazy- I think the longest I've ever done is 12 miles and I was definitely exhausted after that!!

ELW85 · 27/05/2019 17:34

@Dollywilde - enjoy celebrating the promotion :D x

Dollywilde · 27/05/2019 17:26

What a rollercoaster of a day - bfn then Villa promoted... shout to all the girls from the last thread who I know were AV fans Smile

Feeing all weird at the moment so will catch up with the thread later. Lots of love to everyone else who’s had crappy news today x

Hopingforhappiness1 · 27/05/2019 17:20

Hello all, my first post on mumsnet hope it’s ok!

I’m 27, cycle 3, currently 10 days late, and had one MC last year.

The MC really knocked me at the time and was too scared to try again so we had a big gap between but finally feel ready to start again. So fingers crossed something good happens soon once my stupid period shows up.

I’ve been a regular 28 day cycle for the past year until we started to try again and all of a sudden they are completely messed up. Have taken two negative tests at a week late so I’m sure I’m not pregnant I don’t have any symptoms it’s just so frustrating because now next month I really don’t have a clue when my period would be due.

I’ve found it comforting reading all of your stories good luck to everyone!

Lola871 · 27/05/2019 17:12

@ValidUser good news on the follicles! What happens next?

@cupcakesandglitter, @bettythecat sorry you're having a tough time at the moment, it's a naturally emotive subject and when you want something badly it can be hard to think of anything else!

I've been for an 18 mile walk today, great exercise but my legs are now so sore!! And on top of that I had a spot of brown blood so I think that means AF will be starting tonight or tomorrow. Which will put this cycle at 33 days.

FlapJackered · 27/05/2019 16:58

Welcome @ImMeantToBeWorking 😀

Lozzlepop · 27/05/2019 16:58

@Kiza fingers crossed your home GP is more sympathetic and proactive!

@cupcakesandglitter sorry to hear that DH has been feeling so down, hopefully now that you have had an open and frank discussion everything will be better! I think other people forget how tough these situations can be for men and focus all their advice etc towards us women. I have said to DP that anytime he wants to talk about it with me he can and not to bottle things up!

@LikeTheFruit sorry that it was a BFN but its still early so not out yet!

@ValidUser sorry totally naive but what are the follicles? I hope its a good week off for you!

@ImMeantToBeWorking welcome to the group!

FlapJackered · 27/05/2019 16:57

@cupcakesandglitter if you wanted to you could get a print out of your DHs results, you just have to ask the gp receptionist? They legally have to give it to you if you ask. It might help your DH if he can see the numbers. I do understand if you would rather wait for the next test though.
I am quite interested to see if they test my DH again. I have given up everything fun for ttc but he has hardly changed his lifestyle except for hot baths, so if there is an issue he is definitely going to have to cut back on the booze!

@Bettythecat I literally could have written what you wrote. It's exactly the same with me. I just feel like it is taking over my mind so much. I even feel like I don't laugh as much any more. It's so hard. I don't know what I would do without you girls to vent to.
When I do try and relax I just end up feeling guilty for drinking or eating badly and worrying I will ruin my chances. I never realised what a horrible time ttc would be. I just can't wait until it is all just a bad memory!
With IVF would you not be able to get it on the NHS?

ELW85 · 27/05/2019 16:50

Hiya - I think you take the lowest of the last 3 when it comes to calculators like that, but maybe put your old 27/28 day cycle in as an average?
Sorry - I’m not much help am I?!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 27/05/2019 16:49

Thanks @validuser.

I am so bad for testing early!! I have taken a FR 5 days early so I get it @1990shopefultum.

1990shopefulftm · 27/05/2019 15:54

@ELW85, i've been a bit stuck on what to put as my average, my cycle just gone was 30 days, before that was 25 but before deciding to ttc it was always 27/28 days so just going to assume 30 days again and test according to that.
Not sure i'll make it till the day i'm assuming AF is due, will try to make it to a couple of days before, not 5 days before like last cycle.
