TTC First Baby Thread 18 Already!
MrsEG · 31/05/2019 07:52

@Bettythecat Thank you, that’s so helpful! I really do love hearing success stories - makes it all feel a bit less hopeless! Adia was totally free and I was signed up in 2 mins, definitely send them your supps question!! How are you feeling today, has it sunk in yet?

@Lola871 The only OPKs I’ve ever been able to get on board with are the Clear Blue digital ones - pee on them first thing and you get a flashing smiley face in the days leading up to Ov, and a static smiley for Ov. I’m so rubbish at deciphering lines so having it as clear as day like this was the best for me! They are often on offer on a amazon too.

@orangeloo I’m so sorry - getting AF never gets any easier. Sounds like you are heading in to your next cycle in a great frame of mind though!! Chant away!

orangeloo · 31/05/2019 07:16

@MrsEG I'm so glad u got some answers from somewhere. That adia sounds so useful.

Sorry to start the morning on a shitter but I got a BFN - of course - hate doing it but I tested as I wanted to know if I can have a drink or not this weekend and also if I'm not pregnant I really wanna step my workouts up. I'm determined that if I can't get pregnant I'm gonna get in shape and healthy as poss which will help in my ttc journey anyway. Sooo crap. FX for cycle 6 for me then. I hope anyone due to test soon has more luck than me. Would welcome any 'I will have a baby' mantras haha. I will also be carrying my fertility crystals around and meditating like a new age hippy. My DP is seriously going to think I've lost the plot. Grin have a good Friday all.

Lola871 · 31/05/2019 07:15

@MrsEG that's good that you got a quick appointment. I actually work in private healthcare and people are always surprised at how quick they can get seen!

@ValidUser oooh that sounds super sexy 🤣 although if you're OH knows what he's doing then why not I guess!

Still no sign of AF for me, now on CD37 - actually considering OPKs for the first time, as when I first started TTC my cycle seemed to be fairly regular at 34-35 days now it's fluctuating a bit!
Can anyone tell me how to use them? Thanks!

Bettythecat · 31/05/2019 07:09

@MrsEG that must be such a relief to have some clear advice on the Aspirin. On the hyper fertility thing my cousin had two missed miscarriages and she thinks it was to do with hyper fertility too. She gets pregnant every month she tries. I know it's not always comforting to hear these sort of comparative stories but she is now nearly 30 weeks with her baby. There is some information on it here too if you're interested:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19361432

The Asia website sounds so amazing. I wonder if I might go on and see if they can answer my supplement question. Did you have to pay anything? Your friends sound like such babes with your party- you must be such a fab lady to have such lovely pals. So glad you're getting your private appointment quickly too- can't put a price on peace of mind as they say!

@ValidUser your "highly glamourous" comment made me smile- if you can do it yourself then for sure worth it! You guys sound like such an impressive couple!

@rose555 Any sign of af yet?! Those symptoms are sounding promising!!

@Tashdreams no I've not done much more googling on the supplements but might contact Adia as @MrsEG did. Part of me thinks what harm could it do to take them but then of course if don't want to risk anything.

@Kiza Thank you! Haha god no I don't remember them all!! I've realised that if you type in the box on the app and then cross out of it on the top right you don't lose what you write- means you can go back and check what you're meant to be replying to. I'm useless with remembering it all too- I used to write it in a little notebook to try to remember 😂

@Larrydavid I know exactly what you mean about trying not to be stressed by it but no matter how hard I tried TTC always stressed me out so in the end I decided doing ALL THE THINGS 😂 would help me feel more in control. I would really recommend ovusense if you ever want to try temping- takes the stress out of having to wake up at the same time and rememebr to take your temp orally as you pop it in your vag at night and then can forget about it!

MrsEG · 31/05/2019 05:45

@FlapJackered got a response from an Adia expert already! On aspirin she says:

‘There are clearly a proportion of people who have issues with blood clotting, and treating this issue, if diagnosed, makes a difference. However, taking aspirin without evidence of any clotting issue is not of any benefit, and may in fact increase your risk of miscarriage. So I would not suggest that you take it without having done these tests.’

So I am definitely not going to take it now unless the consultant next week says I need it. So glad I looked it up!!

They also sent me some really, really useful information in the email too - i’m going to print it and take it with me next week :) It sounds like progesterone pessaries really couldn’t hurt.

She also included the below info:

‘One line of research you may find interesting is that which suggests that ‘hyper-fertile’ women, who conceive very quickly, may be at higher risk of miscarriage. There is a growing suspicion that in women who conceive very quickly, the linings of their wombs may be too ‘accepting’ of lower quality embryos which are destined to miscarry.’

I find this so interesting and it would explain a lot I guess given I’ve conceived three times in 9 months. So going to ask about this line of research too!!

All in all - thanks so much for the Adia recommendation and if anyone has any burning questions for the pros I’d definitely suggest sending them a message!

@cupcakesandglitter here's hoping we all have babies this time next year. X

cupcakesandglitter · 30/05/2019 23:41

@ValidUser I'll leave it to the professionals then 😩 let us know how you get on!! Although I have a really good feeling for you tbh, I'm certain you're getting your BFP soon x

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 23:38

@cupcakesandglitter not a difficult process but poses a risk of infection if you're not well versed in aseptic technique/able to prescribe yourself antibiotics.

OP posts:
cupcakesandglitter · 30/05/2019 23:36

@ValidUser ooh sounds sexy 😂 is it something everyone can do? X

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 23:29

@cupcakesandglitter intrauterine insemination. In an office it usually involves some kind of semen purification process. We'd skip that bit and just create a sterile field and put a catheter into my cervix and inject the baby batter. Highly glamorous.

@FlapJackered false alarm, went to the loo and apparently have not dried up yet at all 😂 weird for me though, although I'm never dry I've been getting big blobs of stuff!! Bleeding eck. Yessss do it!!! I shaved mine for the first time this week in a while, DH wondered if I was feeling okay 😂 milk bottle legs for the win eh 😂 although I did some gardening last weekend and I've got a tan line around where my sliders were, so my foot just looks dirty 😂😩 xx

@ValidUser definitely does!! What's home IUI? Xx

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 23:20

@FlapJackered and @cupcakesandglitter I get the excitement - it makes it all feel more possible.

If this isn't our month, I'm tempted by home IUI next month. Kits are cheap enough and DH worked in gynaecology a few years back so knows how to do it.

FlapJackered · 30/05/2019 23:14

@cupcakesandglitter I dread to think of what I will be like if get baby brain on top of my already useless brain 😂
Acht sorry to hear about the bfn. As we always say, you're not out until af turns up!
I hear you about the tan, my legs are a scary colour at the moment, I think I will unleash them to the world on Saturday to try and get them a bit less Colgate white!

@MrsEG its such a minefield isn't it! I have started writing down questions to ask our consultant when we see him at the end of June, so we can compare notes!

Larrydavid · 30/05/2019 23:04

@MrsEG - will ask her! She's so good for advice, I hardly ever go to my own doctor anymore!

@LokiCat thank you! New York is amazing right? It's probably the only other city I could imagine myself living in!

@Kiza baby brain would be the end of me!!

cupcakesandglitter · 30/05/2019 23:02

@MrsEG oh I know!!! I'm excited, I'm in dire need of hot weather and a tan 😋

cupcakesandglitter · 30/05/2019 23:00

@FlapJackered I hear that 😂 especially when it's a long awaited one too, I know we'll get our BFPs eventually but still 😂 baby brain (minus the baby) is definitely a thing 😂 I'm okay thanks, CD30 but BFN this morning and I've actually dried up (first time for everything) but not had my pre AF spotting yet. Actually want her to turn up so we can start our plan 😂

MrsEG · 30/05/2019 22:59

@FlapJackered I’ll let you know what she says - I’ve obviously now googled it to death and there are some places that say not to use it unless prescribed, and not to use before 8 weeks. But very little to say why!! Then other sources say to take it from day of Ov! So who bloody knows. Hopefully all will be clearer this time next week!

@cupcakesandglitter I actually cannot believe it’s June this weekend - feels like Christmas was last month!

FlapJackered · 30/05/2019 22:54

@ValidUser 🤦🏼‍♀️ thank you for not giving me a virtual slap! That is a very good line even if it is a trigger shot bfp! 😂

@cupcakesandglitter 🙈 definitely need to start reading before I type! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I get a little overexcited with bfp pictures. 😂
I am good thanks lovely just waiting out the tww. I wonder if I can put brain-not-working as a tww symptom? 😂
How are you?

@MrsEG that is great you have got an appointment and so soon! Will keep everything crossed you get some answers. I would be interested to hear what they say about the aspirin as I was thinking of taking it too next time. That is such a lovely idea with the fundraising!

cupcakesandglitter · 30/05/2019 22:39

@ValidUser I suppose it's a good thing you can't test too early, weird to see a BFP though from it, I didn't know it was a thing! Fx you get your actual BFP this month ❤️

@FlapJackered you banana 😂😂 how are you? Xx

@MrsEG it'll fly by, think of how fast time has gone already - it's almost June! Xx

MrsEG · 30/05/2019 22:20

@ValidUser Ha, very true!! The bigwigs at FRER won’t get nearly as big a sales bonus this month ;) Good luck!!

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 22:18

@FlapJackered not one little bit taken. To be honest, the congratulations felt good. ❤️🤞

@cupcakesandglitter it is! Came up straight away. Oddly satisfying.

OP posts:
FlapJackered · 30/05/2019 22:16

🙈🙈🙈🙈 I am SUCH an idiot! That is what happens when you flick onto the thread without reading it! 😂 So sorry @ValidUser I hope I didn't offend with my ignorance! It comes from a good place as I am really rooting for you being one of the long timers here like me! I am going to go and hide now 😳

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 22:14

@MrsEG it can stay in your body for 10 days. At least this will stop me from testing at 5dpo.

OP posts:
MrsEG · 30/05/2019 22:11

@ValidUser Happy trigger day! How long does it take for that to even out, so you will know if you’re getting an actual BFP or not in two weeks time?? 🤞🏻

@cupcakesandglitter Thank you lovely - really can’t wait for the appointment now. Hope you are doing okay!
