@MrsEG, your mum's comment sounds sooooo like something my mil would say! Trying to 'help' but getting it totally wrong!! Enjoy allllll the wine tonight and relax and have fun with the girls xxx

orangeloo · 01/06/2019 18:07

@Kiza I have spotting/ brown discharge up to a week before my periods. I've had scan which was normal and x2 21 day bloods all came back normal. So god knows, but I did see on another forum that one lady has brown spotting also and still got this when she got her bfp. She has two kids. So I always try and remember this and stay hopeful but I'd still like to get to the bottom of mine. If yours happens every month I would say go to your gp to get ball rolling with tests too.

@MrsEG I'm sorry about what your mum said, I'm sure she's only trying to help but yeah quite insensitive and unnecessary. Sounds like something my mum would do tbh haha. I hope your having a fab time with your friends! Your attitude and strength is amazing. Xx

dahlia123 · 01/06/2019 11:40

@MrsEG - I think I'm going to do it. I have a gynaecologist scan appointment after being referred by the GP in a few weeks but that's taken ages to come through. (Referral due to ongoing pain near my belly button). Think it's a good idea to get some answers from the tests you've got lined up. That tea msg is very cryptic. It's sunny, get the wine poured!

@Fivebyfive2 - you must have been knackered! Off to see the Spice Girls tonight - excited for that ☺️

@PaintingOwls - what a start to the weekend. Hope shopping trip is a good one with loads of amazing bargain finds.

@Lozzlepop That's tricky, I'd say hold out but I'd want to know for the weekend

@Lola871 - I'd test with a Frer now so I'd know for the weekend. You've done well not to test for this long.

@Bettythecat hope your friend feels better soon. Going with a group and can't wait for some girly time

ELW85 · 01/06/2019 11:34

@MrsEG - urgh, sorry to hear you got that message. I think people think they’re being helpful, but it often misses the mark.
It’s not as if you’re going to go: “oh right, yeah, green tea. It’s not like I hadn’t analysed every single facet of my life to understand why I’m going through this. That solves it!”
You’re in the right place here for moral support :) x

Kiza · 01/06/2019 11:33

@MrsEG oh no, do you think that's what she is implying? Green tea is full of great antioxidants and yes lots of caffeine has been attributed to early miscarriage so if you're drinking the decaf version (so am I) then I don't know what she means?

ELW85 · 01/06/2019 11:29

@PaintingOwls - sorry to hear that. Go and enjoy a lovely day with your friend and stop off for a cocktail somewhere :) we need to be kind to ourselves!!

@Bettythecat @LokiCat - my luteal phase is cutting it close (about 11/12 days depending on how you calculate it) and my temps are slow to rise after O. I’ve also got a monitor that reads electrolytes to detect hormone changes in your cycle and it looks like my progesterone remains elevated after O, but not massively so.
I’m gonna go to the docs on Monday and present my case.
I think the problem is, some docs don’t think luteal deficiency is an issue so just don’t treat it.
I know I’m not a medical expert, but there are loads of clinical papers to support progesterone being critical for implantation so I’m hoping they’ll just think the benefits of prescribing a gel outweigh the risks (there are none) and go with it.

Am I being neurotic? Open to all answers, haha!

MrsEG · 01/06/2019 11:25

@ELW85 If you’ve really convinced yourself of it and it’s getting you down; could you go and be tested for it? Hope you manage to switch off from it for today and enjoy the weekend :)

@PaintingOwls So sorry about AF hun. Enjoy the shopping trip!

@Lozzlepop I’d say 13DPO is reasonable to test!!

@LokiCat enjoy those minstrels!!

@Kiza CM can be very odd during TTC; I’ve had ‘stuff’ come out of me I’ve never seen before! I’ve no idea why, but will cross my fingers that perhaps yours is a good thing!

@Bettythecat Ah Enjoy the Spice Girls! Friends of mine all went yesterday and said it was brilliant!

So. I have genuinely just had a message from my own mother saying ‘You need to Google drinking green tea in pregnancy.’ That’s all the message says. I’m a big herbal tea drinker but knocked green on the head when TTC as I had to cut out all caffeine anyway for health reasons. I will still drink the decaf version though. But like, what the hell is she trying to suggest?! My herbal teas killed all my pregnancies? I am so so offended by it I don’t even know where to start. She’s obsessed with finding a reason for it but to blame ME for it is a step too far. Uggghhh too early to open the wine?!

Bettythecat · 01/06/2019 11:07

@LokiCat I actually found the OneStep tests easier to use once you get the hang of reading them- something about being able to see the actual lines I liked. I think the CB ones might be a bit less sensitive or at least only show positive when you get a certain level. 🤷‍♀️

@Lola871 that sounds promising to me! I would be tempted to test but perhaps wait until first thing tomorrow with FMU and a FRER so that you can trust the result a bit more.

@MrsEG your party sounds fab! I'm off to see the Spice Girls today although the friend I'm going with has messaged to say she's got a funny tummy so hoping we can still go!

@ELW85 I did exactly the same! Convinced myself! It's actually bad now I've got my BFP because I'm too scared to take the supplements but scared not to take them too 😫😫. Why do you think you've got issues with it?

Lozzlepop · 01/06/2019 11:06

@starkid thanks hun it can’t come quick enough 😂

@LokiCat I know I know- just had a wobble! Well I’m not really sure as this will be first AF post MMC currently CD 36 with Glow estimating she’s due on Monday 🤞🏻 I really hope that she just bloody turns up already!

Kiza · 01/06/2019 11:06

@PaintingOwls sorry to hear AF turned up, it's so crap for you. Hope the day shopping distracts a little
@Lozzlepop try holding out just another day! But no judgement here if you do test, I've done two this week already 🤦🏼‍♀️

@flossy12 oooh keep us posted if you test again, sounding a little promising 🙏🏼
@LokiCat they both look positive to me so fingers crossed for you this month.

Does anyone have any hopeful stories of a bfp after 10 days of faint brown discharge since ovulation? AF still not due till wed but have had bfn on hpt, trying not to get disheartened by this weird discharge that's going on for daaaayyyysss!

flossy12 · 01/06/2019 10:46

@LokiCat I have no idea! According to Flo I'm 19dpo but before I updated my info on it it suggested ovulation as 29th but that wouldn't show anything on a test by now so I have no idea, just going to wait for AF (if it ever shows) xx

Lola871 · 01/06/2019 10:45

Morning all, still no sign of AF, I had ruled myself out due to timings following a BFN on Thursday but now I'm wondering how long I leave it for, I'm now on CD37 and my cycles had been between 29 and 36 days for the last year. Obviously it could just be a new longest cycle but seems unusual! When would you guys test again if AF doesn't come? I haven't had any pre-AF symptoms so don't think it's coming today either!

LokiCat · 01/06/2019 10:41

@Bettythecat @Kiza I think you may be right.. did another test on both this morning with fmu and got a dark positive on the strip test but low on cb digital 🤔 did a quick Google and seems to have happened to other people as well. They suggest it may be because they've had a quick surge that the cb digital missed? The strip tests have been getting darker, so I guess it does make sense (second attached photo).
DH got home at 4am so think I'll let him sleep in a bit before jumping on 😂
Just so annoyed because I bought the cb digital to stop all the line confusion and it's only caused more confusion! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@MrsEG your plan for the day sounds great! Enjoy!! I'm glad you're able to stay positive. It's a month off that you get to party hard and make memories (along with enjoying some Galaxy). I've had such a craving for Galaxy chocolate since reading here last two days. May have bought a bar and some minstrels 🙊

@ELW85 I hope getting your hair done and your MIL coming manages to take your mind off things. Thoughts start going to different places during TTC convinced that something must be wrong!
If it's something worrying you, are you able to get tests for it?

@PaintingOwls so sorry AF arrived. I hope you manage to find some great buys whilst shopping!

@Lozzlepop think about the relaxing holiday coming! When is AF supposed to be due?

@flossy12 fx it is something promising and AF doesn't show 🤞🏽 how many dpo are you?

CD32 today did an IC after only holding wee for 3hours and been at work all night, seemed negative then me and OH convinced each other there was a faint line but that was after about 20 mins so just put it in the bin and carrying on our wait for AF

Lozzlepop · 01/06/2019 10:25

13DPO and the IC in my drawer are screaming out to me 🙈

PaintingOwls · 01/06/2019 10:22

Morning all. I woke up to find AF had arrived, making this a 26 day cycle. This is driving me crazy, they're all over the place.

Anyway, I am out. Going to go shopping with a friend today and try not to think about it Sad

ELW85 · 01/06/2019 10:08

Morning all

Currently sat in the hairdressers trying to switch off after convincing myself I’ve got a progesterone deficiency.
Got the MiL staying over tonight so I’m sure that’ll provide enough of a distraction!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far :)

MrsEG · 01/06/2019 09:22

@Fivebyfive2 It’s totally up to you! Look on the positive side that you’ve passed that point and nothing has gone wrong at all :) Some people do find early scans can cause even more anxiety and I totally understand that, whereas others like the reassurance - it’s SO personal. Maybe ask at your booking in appt, see what the midwife suggests?

@Kiza Thank you lovely, I feel like I have to stay positive - it will do me no good at all to dwell upon what’s gone wrong and sit around feeling sad! Well done on completing SMEP this month - we’ve done it, it’s draining haha! 🤞🏻 for you xx

Fivebyfive2 · 01/06/2019 09:15

@MrsEG, party with the girls sounds fab! Have an awesome time 😃 I don't blame you for having a wobble hun, but think you're doing the right thing in the long run by waiting for your appointment. Xxx

I'm doing OK, but I had a wobble too yesterday! Realised we're just about past the point where it became apparent things were wrong in the first pregnancy. I'm now wavering on whether to have an early scan or not! Before I didn't want one, but now I'm wondering if it could be worth just checking all is progressing OK, especially before we go on holiday ... Or will that just set us up for a fall if something goes wrong in between?! I'm over thinking for sure!! Xx

Kiza · 01/06/2019 09:10

@MrsEG I love your plan for today and your bucket list! Your optimism and trying to find some positives amongst the negatives is admirable 💜 so enjoy today and party hard! Hopefully it'll be the last party for a while!
@Fivebyfive2 that sounds like my night the last 2 nights, although I didn't wake up and slept all the way through! Hoping for some sunshine today to catch some rays

@dahlia123 thanks, this TTC certainly does test our patience!! 😤

@LokiCat I use those ones and pee on them ever day from cd 6-cd 18 (I write the date on them too and keep them) so I can then see the surge climb and go so even I I don't get a 100% defo clear positive I can at least see roughly where I ov'd and input that date into my app maybe a couple of days later when I'm sure. This month I also SMEP from cd 8-cd 15 to ensure we covered our window. Only time will tell if it worked as this is our first month doing SMEP

MrsEG · 01/06/2019 08:53

@Fivebyfive2 Hello lovely! How are you getting on?
I woke up at 7 with every intention of going to ParkRun and instead I’m still in bed... party at my sisters house today with all the girls, wanted ‘getting properly wasted with my friends’ checked off my bucket list this week! Party starts at 1 (!!) So I’ll likely be in bed by 7. Vino currently chilling in the fridge!

Had a small wobble yesterday as I’ve had EWCM the last few days so I know I’m ovulating. And started panicking ‘what if this would be the one that worked’, was I wasting it, etc. But realised for the sake of one month and having my tests done next week, I’d rather wait. I don’t have it in me emotionally to go through another loss so soon! So instead, going to really enjoy the next few weeks and also try and lose some of the Galaxy weight I’ve put on recently ha!

Hope everyone has a great weekend - still checking in here often as I wanna see those BFPs :)

Fivebyfive2 · 01/06/2019 08:46

@rose555, congratulations!! Xxx

Just to add on the opk thoughts, I always used the cb digital ones too. Like @MrsEG, could not be doing with squinting!!

Hope everyone had a nice Friday night? Anyone got weekend plans? Was very rock and roll last night, fell asleep at 5.30, dh woke me up at 7.30...with Chinese takeaway 😃

MrsEG · 01/06/2019 06:44

@dahlia123 If you can afford the testing, I would go for it. I’m actually a bit annoyed we didn’t go for some form of testing sooner - I know there’s a high chance there’ll be nothing wrong but even knowing that earlier would have helped I think. And if there is something up with an easy fix, I just want to know. Google ‘Fertility MOTs’ that tends to be what they are called near to me!

Bettythecat · 01/06/2019 06:22

@LokiCat since the first month or two of TTC I've always used the cheap OneStep tests because of how much cheaper they are which means you can POAS as much as you want! I also like that you can catch the surge as it starts and see it building. I dont think I've ever had a false positive with them so I would take that as a positive and get BD'ing! My CM was never a 100% guaranteed test either- sometimes I got fertile CM a few days before O and sometimes even after and sometimes not much at all so don't be too disheartened by that.

dahlia123 · 01/06/2019 01:15

Good to see you @starkid and @PinkFizz19

@Kiza think waiting is the only thing to do, annoying as it is

Your celebratory post made me laugh @Tashdreams - hoping this cycle is the one for you.

For all the ladies talking about OPK - couldn't make sense of them either. Clear blue digital opks and Ava made me feel less stressed.

Just heard about another friend who is pregnant which started a convo with my partner. He wants to get tested privately to see how the swimmers are. I don't mind him going but it's making me wonder about having fertility tests too. We're both 32 and starting cycle 6, so logically there's no reason to panic yet. Was good to talk but now I'm thinking I ought to be tested. Already thinking about TTC more than I should, not sure if tests will help.
