Hi everyone, I would love to speak to others that are new to this ttc malarky! Me and my partner decided to start trying last month and I'm due AF over the next couple of days. Im not 100% sure how long my cycle is but definitely between 28-30 days (af would be due today if 28). Not sure when I ovulated but had ewcm on the 7th so could have been around then. I had some period like cramps yesterday but nothing major so not sure if I'm going to be a lucky one or not!

Hi ladies!
Hope you are all well and just checking everyone's ok. AF started on Monday so will be starting to do my ovulation strips from the middle of next week 😬 fingers crossed for us all 🤞

coconutcub · 19/05/2019 19:08

Congratulations @Beck2277!

1990shopefulftm · 19/05/2019 16:33

@skyla01 thank you, i don't think i've any chances now. If AF comes soon then if i catch in the next cycle it'd be a late feb baby which would be nice as there's no one with a feb birthday in our families.

Skyla01 · 19/05/2019 16:24

Congratulations Beck2277, that's lovely news. All the best with the pregnancy journey!
1990shopefulftm I hope Af comes quickly for you so you can get on to the next cycle. Although you still have a chance with this one until then so fingers crossed!

Beck2277 · 19/05/2019 15:25

@flasky I did, he was with me as I told him I was feeling really queasy and late on. Don't think its sunk in at all and he still doesn't quite believe it! First month so mad it has happened so fast. Both need to get our heads round it!

@Beck2277 that is a great line! Congratulations! First cycle too right? Exciting :) have you told your dp?

1990shopefulftm · 19/05/2019 14:54

@Beck2277 that looks like a clear positive line to me, congratulations :).

Was hoping AF would start today so we'd be in the start of cycle 2 but still no sign, after two negatives this week i'm pretty certain i m not pregnant. It's not supposed to be likely to get a negative once you've missed your period. It's a strange feeling actually wanting to get it for the first time in my life.

Beck2277 · 19/05/2019 14:36

Cant quite believe it.. felt queasy the last couple of days and took a test. Don't think this can be disputed?!

@skyla01 Hey!
Definitely, we hadn't really fully decided this month would be the first 'official' one so just have to wait and see.
Lots of luck to everyone 🤞

Beck2277 · 18/05/2019 14:53

I'm glad I'm not the only one not using ovulation kits yet! My cycles are pretty regular so hoping I will know by tomorrow if the first month wasnt successful.. feeling a bit queasy today and not really sure why but trying not to read too much into it as it might just be nerves! So hard not thinking every twinge is something!

Hi sparkle! Sounds like you just need to wait and see what happens. Sometimes people have implantation bleeding around AF time, so if AF doesn't come full on you could think of that. Although perhaps your periods might be a bit different after being on the pill? You would be very lucky to conceive straight off the pill, so don't feel too bad if it is AF.

SparkleUK · 18/05/2019 14:19

Hi everyone 😁

Just started TTC our first, I'd been on the pill for a year and had my last bleed end of April so I haven't had a 'proper' period yet but I was always regular when off the pill previously. Only snag is I'd have no idea of my cycle yet 🙈
DTD during the supposed fertile window and also a couple of times after and had some strange symptoms for a little while, it's so hard not to symptom spot isn't it?!

AF is due tomorrow at Ovia's best guess, I started with a 'heavy' feeling and cramps yesterday afternoon but only one incident of brown spotting when wiping (caring is sharing 😂) and I was crying nearly all night on and off over nothing! More on and off cramps today with a really small bit of spotting again (feels more on my left side). I can't remember this ever happening, usually I wouldn't know my period was coming until it happened or cramps followed by period really quickly. I'm going with AF is coming so I don't get excited 😂

Skyla01 · 18/05/2019 14:08

NLouise123 that's annoying! Hopefully your ov comes a day or two early! I'm going away for a few days soon too, so hope I ovulate beforehand.

Welcome flasky! You should similar to me, being on the pill for such a long time. It took 2 months for my 1st period to come. However from reading on here I think most people start cycling sooner than that, so hope you don't have too long to wait!

Flasky · 18/05/2019 13:11

Hello all right if I join?

I am completely new to this! Am 29, DH 34. We’ve decided we’re ready to TTC #1 and just finished my last pill pack on Wednesday, expecting withdrawal bleed this weekend then goodness knows what to expect after that. Will no doubt take a while for my body to get back to normal after ten years on the pill

NLouise123 · 18/05/2019 12:55

@Skyla01 We're on CD 12, unfortunately my predicted OV (20th) day is the first day I'm in London with work. OH has already said we're DTD right before I leave and as soon as I walk in on the 24th Grin

1990shopefulftm · 18/05/2019 12:50

Hello, i m in my first month was expecting af on thursday (but i had a 25 day cycle last month) so my normal day of af being due is tommorow, had two negative tests (one of which was this morning) so seems not to be my month.

EssJayyCee · 18/05/2019 12:46

@Skyla01 yes I have done a pregnancy test about 6 days ago. Negative.

Tracking does help a little bit but it is also very stressful when the days go by and you still have no record of ovulation or anything normal!

In all honesty I am just hoping with everything crossed that AF will be here soon! Then I can start again and hope for a shorter more normal cycle!

Skyla01 · 18/05/2019 11:52

NLouise123 lots of DTD is our plan too! I'm only cd3 but later next week we'll try for every other day at least. I agree might be hard to keep it up, but fingers crossed for positive tests within a few cycles before we get fed up of DTD!
Beck2277 keep us updated!

Beck2277 · 18/05/2019 09:50

I took a couple of tests this week knowing it was too early but I'm impatient haha obviously negative! Im going to try and hold out until tomorrow or Monday if I can, kinda think I'll be getting AF today so will see what happens :) so hard to wait!

NLouise123 · 18/05/2019 09:47

@Beck2277 Have you been tempted to test yet?

Beck2277 · 18/05/2019 09:18

Good to have everyone here ladies! I am so paranoid I'm going to be getting af today, had a few cramps but no sign yet. We will see!

I live in Wales!

@Skyla01 when I came off the pill after 8 years, I started to be able to feel the start of my ovulation with cramping. Also my boobs are tender for about 2/3 weeks in a month now so thats fun 😂

Good luck on your journeys everyone! Glad we can support each other.

NLouise123 · 18/05/2019 08:45

If you don't mind, I'm going to hop on :)

TTC baby number 1, currently on my first cycle pill free, not sure how long this cycle will take, I've been on the pill for so long! Flo currently has me OV on the 20th and AF on the 4th of June! DTD almost everyday! Not sure if I can keep up the pace haha!

Skyla01 · 18/05/2019 08:32

Wow EssJayyCee that's a very long cycle! I take it you've done a pregnancy test just to make sure? Long cycles must be annoying if it's harder to track ovulation. Hope the tracking helps. I guess if you do ovulate there's still a good chance of pregnancy so stay hopeful xx

Skyla01 · 18/05/2019 08:28

I've found I've had lots of hormonal type symptoms, especially cramps and nausea. I think our bodies are extra sensitive to all the hormone shifts now after so many years on the pill.
Good luck to everyone!
