@Russkispy Thank you for posting your supplements info - what did your fertility consultant say the kelp was for out of interest?
Big congratulations and wishing you a very healthy and smooth 9 months :) xx

@Kimm123 had a reflexology every other week after D&c. D&c is a surgical procedure to remove the tissue after a missed miscarriage

littlemimosa · 09/07/2019 00:21

Hi ladies, I’m sorry I went quiet. I’m not ovulating again so I’m not ttc so I feel a fraud coming on here at those times. And I’m just so sad about it all I almost can’t face even talking about it anymore. But I didn’t want to disappear completely and I’m aware I didn’t reply to @Kimm123

Kimm- I’m just turned 43 and have two DC 6&8. My cycles have been irregular for a couple of years now but lately they are getting longer and longer. I think I’ve only had 3 periods since the new year. In the very long cycles I get some hot flashes but after I ovulate (eventually) they stop til the next time. I’ve had every test available and mostly my results are good and my tubes are clear etc. I’ve tried literally every supplement going and every alternative treatment. Not even had a sniff of a bfp. I’m still going to acupuncture every two weeks and reflexology about once a month but mainly because I like them and it’s relaxing. I’m at my gp next week so I’m going to ask about Letrozole as a last ditch attempt really. No idea if it’s even suitable for me but I’ll let you know what he says.
How are you? Do you get any symptoms with no periods? Have you been to a doctor?

Hope everyone else is ok.
Congratulations to all the bfps and keep posting the positive news. Re Alanis Morrisette - I bet it’s DE. Not that it matters in any way but it got me thinking how strange it is that our bodies can happily carry a pregnancy at 45 but not conceive one?!

@BooseysMom I hate this age related nonsense, it just makes us all feel a bit rubbish about ourselves (was going to be a bit more colourful with my words but decided against it lol)! It's not like our arms and legs are hanging off for goodness sake! We're living longer more healthy lives so surely that impacting our fertility also? There haven't been enough studies to prove otherwise so I for one am against ageism in later mother's. My midwife consultation in may before MC was quite awful, I had some 20 year old telling me how many things can go wrong because I'm old! I'm 39, in my head I'm 19 so I can't see a problem! I hope you all have beautiful wonderful babies, were all so different it's such a lovely idea to swap hints and support each other I wish I'd have had the courage to join a chat earlier when I really needed that support! Glad I'm here now though :) xx

Kimm123 · 08/07/2019 22:16

@Russkipsy...and if you dont mind me asking how many reflexology sessions did u have?? I dont know if we can afford that amount each month....cuz it's alot of money tho....but then again i suppose if u really want a baby then why not...
I mean i dont even have any periods for a few month so god knows wats happening...

Kimm123 · 08/07/2019 22:11

@Russkipsy....thanku for that....that's soo much to have all them supplements ..were can u buy Dhea from and also wat does D&c stand for...

BooseysMom · 08/07/2019 21:02

@catconfusion.. i think that's my biggest fear.. the fear of loss/es...even more than having just a two bed house and a low income. So many here have suffered . .not age related i know... but it scares me all the same. I just read another thread where the op says she wants more than one dc and her dh has refused and wants to stick with one. She's 35 and doesn't want a newborn at 40. I was tempted to say well i had a newborn at 40 and it was the best thing to ever happen to me! In fact i think i will say that ..why not?! But really i feel it's pushing it to expect it to happen again at 47.

@turquoiseturtle...fantastic news from your scan. Wishing you a healthy happy pregnancy x

@Russikpy.. just look at that lovely line! Grin.. Congratulations Flowers

@raffeylou.. i remember you! So sorry to hear you suffered three mcs. Congratulations on the imminent birth of your DD. I was also 41 when I had DS and thought i'd left it too late. He was my miracle baby. Thinking of you on Sunday Flowers

@Elles1980.. thanks for your lovely msg..i'm so sorry to hear of your experiences. I hope you are successful...baby dust heading your way! Halox

Russkispy · 08/07/2019 20:46

Thank you ladies. Still feeling shocked! I kept having reflexology every other week. And after seeing a fertility coach whom I mentioned on here before, we switched to alkaline diet. Also drinking a smoothie of celery and green apple every day, and a squeezed fresh lemon every day and its flesh if you can stomach. Tomorrow I'll attach a list of supplements she told me to buy. Had a D&C on 2nd May, saw her a week later and started all supplements and the diet from 12th May. Had first AF after D&c last month. And was expecting AF now. But a surprising BFP. Also, been taking DHEA, 75mg a day, Doctor's Best ubiquinol of 300mg a day, zinc of 15mg and aspirin of 75mg. I really would like to think and believe those changes made my BFP

Kimm123 · 08/07/2019 20:26

And to all the ladies who are pregnant u need to tell us the tricks of the trade and the theory u used to get bfp...thats the only way us ladies can help each other and try n experiment different ways of to concieve very quick.xx

Kimm123 · 08/07/2019 20:23

Hi ladies....Yes definitely a huge congratulations to everyone who have concieved and all the very best to u all lovely ladies. AND for everybody else like me its just a waiting game and hopefully we all will get our bfp very soon sooo everyone of us can celebrate together.....😘😘😘

I hope it's ok to join this thread (Im a total technophobe and usually just like around reading). I'm blessed enough to have 4 wonderful children 21-18-9 &4. IV had 2 eptopics and in may the most horrible miscarriage at 12 weeks where I had to be rescusitated due to cervical shock followed by a d&c. This would have been my poor partners first child and he (we both are) devestated. We stated using a clear blue fertility monitor and got peaks sat and sun, but today I had a random bleed and we both panicked a little. Im 40 in January and he's 42 and I guess like IV read alot of people are so quick to comment on our ages we just feel like time is against us, it's exciting and soul destroying all at the same time. It is however reasuring and super lovely to see so many sharing there experiences and supporting each other. I guess trying for a baby can be a stressful and kind of loanley time for some couples. Oh I missed out fun lol... We certainly are having fun trying! Congratulations to all the pregnant ladies it's a beautiful thing and it's ok to moan about pregnancy as it's all part of the experience, and to those trying much love and the the best of luck SmileFlowers xxx

Chatbash72 · 08/07/2019 17:37

Ooh @Raffeylou that's fantastic news
@Russkispy nope just cos you are preg doesn't mean you need to go, it's fab having updates xx

Catconfusion · 08/07/2019 16:52

Of course @Russkispy stay put as your story gives us all hope. Xx

Wow @Raffeylou thanks for sharing. I’m in a similar boat: two losses and just turned 40. I too fell straight away and was shocked it happens quickly but having a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks was a slap in the face, then an early loss. I’m hoping we have similar luck and our next one is the one. Good luck with the birth and enjoy your beautiful baby! Xx

Russkispy · 08/07/2019 16:36

Thank you lovely ladies! Don't think the news sunk in properly yet! Would like to stick around if that's ok with you as it's very very early days!

karryk · 08/07/2019 16:18

How wonderful @Raffeylou ❤️ so sorry for your losses but how lovely to read that your little girl will be with you soon. Wishing you a wonderfully smooth last week of pregnancy before the little one arrives Flowers

Raffeylou · 08/07/2019 13:42

Hey ladies, it's been a very long time since I've been on here - last September I think! I turned 40 last May, and hubby and I started ttc last July. To my amazement I conceived immediately but sadly miscarried at 5 weeks - I was absolutely devastated. To my disbelief I conceived again the following cycle but suffered another miscarriage at just over 4 weeks. I was very low at the time and if my memory serves me correctly, the last few times I posted on here was to question whether I had it in me to keep trying. I was convinced that I'd left it too late and that it wasn't meant to be. Regardless, we did try again the following month but failed to conceive. BUT .. the month after, we did conceive and this one stuck!!! I'm now 39+1 and our baby girl is due on Sunday, I still can't believe it. I have been utterly paranoid throughout most of the pregnancy waiting for and expecting something to go wrong - every time my morning sickness stopped for a day or I failed to feel baby move for a few hours, I was a wreck. However, everything has been completely normal at every scan and check up Smile. Because of my age, my obstetrician does not want me to go over my due date so if no sign of baby by Sunday, I'm looking at either induction or planned section .. At the age of 41, I feel so lucky and so blessed to be in this position and I really hope this story gives hope to those of you who are struggling

karryk · 08/07/2019 11:27

@turquoiseturtle ooh! Mine was 14th January but moved forward to 9th Jan at the 12 week scan Smile. Hope you're feeling well xx

PetraRabbit · 08/07/2019 10:53

Still reading the thread and hoping for all of you.

Russkispy that is incredible! I had to comment! One last month before DE and a natural conception. Crossing everything for you. You deserve this so much!
