@Ec22 I had a MC in may and I had a very similar experience although I was 10 weeks and passed 32 of those clots/pieces of tissue. They were massive and I was terrified. But I do have to say the gyne I saw reassured me half way through and said that obviously it was a threatening MC I may not have lost the baby. I hold out hope for you and wish you all the best. @CritterTamer you're not being silly or selfish! I'm now nearly half way with my second and will be 44.5 when DC2 arrives, and still hoping all will go fine and immensely grateful to be preg at my age.....but I grew up in a big family and would love a third. The thought goes through my head A LOT even though it would mean TTC at 45 which I feel is pushing it on my luck and would put me in line for more MC probably. I think there's no harm in you trying. It's true some women who have IVF (or adopt due to fertility issues) conceive naturally afterwards. What does your DH say? Mine says he'd have 10 if he could afford it and he gets really excited by the wonder of the newborn stage the way I do too. But I can see him saying no on practical grounds.

@EC22 I don't think you can PM a photo. Most people on this thread are used to photos of CM etc. So I don't you'll upset anyone though!

@Cleozeta - I'm doing ok thank you - completely exhausted as sleep is very hard to come by! The twins are doing great - they are absolutely gorgeous and get masses of attention wherever we go! They were 9 weeks old yesterday.

EC22 sorry you are going througg this, it's so hard. I passed a similar size thing after my mmc last year. I mc at 10 weeks but baby only made it to 6.5 weeks. I went through the mc process but stuff was left over so I was sent for medicated mc in hospital, but just before, as I was walking along, I felt sonething huge slide down (tmi), felt like I was laying an egg. When I checked it, it was a huge mass of grey tissue, I could even see the cord. I would be interested to see your pic as it may be the same? Could put you closer to 6 or 7 weeks.

Critter - how are you getting on? Glad you are still around, and if you want to ttc again why not! To be honest, if you want more, you can't really wait around. No harm in trying

MaryShelley you can get help with recurrent miscarriages no matter what age you are. I was reluctant to go to my GP as thought she'd laugh at me but consequently found out via EPU that LOADS of women are trying in their 40's and we are to be seen after 2 mc. So don't wait. That goes for anyone else. I have my first appointment with the RMC next month. They'll do a battery of hormone tests, go over all my cycle information, detail the results from my D&C. I'll probably get a hysteroscopy (camera inside womb to see what's going on) oh yes plus progesterone pessaries!

You can ring your local EPU and explain your recent losses and they'll refer you to the RMC. Or when you fall pg again, go see the EPU even if you think it's going to be a chemical. You'll be on their radar then and you'll get into the clinic if it's not your first loss.

I didn't know any of this abs thought I'd have to suffer in silence but not so. Just because we are in our 40's doesn't mean we aren't entitled to access these services.

Ring your local hospital and ask to be put through to the EPU (early pregnancy unit).

I’ve googled, mine doesn’t look firm like the photos, it was soft, like membrane. I’ll show midwife, she should be able to shed some light.

I didn’t get my BFP til cycle day 50, I had a bfn on CD30 but then didn’t test again so it’s possible I was further along but I didn’t get anything more than a 2-3 on a CBD.

Very confusing.

@EC22 sorry you're going through this it must have been awful. Google decidual cast if you feel up to it, it might set your mind at rest.

@Russkispy I caught up with the thread and was so happy to read your news - what amazing timing! I'm wondering if I have a chance at a natural pregnancy now my body has had a successful one through IVF? DH isn't keen at the moment though are what happened so will have to wait and see!

Yes it definitely all came out at once. I was sitting down and had to move to accommodate it. It was quite shocking.

Hi all, I still lurk now and then - thinking of TTC again - does that make me crazy or selfish? It may just be unresolved psychological issues to do with the traumatic delivery maybe - I have an appointment with the perinatal psychologist this morning so that might shed some light!

@EC22 - it sounds like you've shed a decidual cast- this is rarely associated with early losses and happened to someone I IVF cycled with - it's very traumatic but nothing harmful, it's the pregbant womb lining being shed all at once by a accident instead of gradually.

I’ve been pregnant 4 times.
I had a late miscarriage a good 20yrs ago. Then when ttc out little boy I had a miscarriage in the December and conceived him in the March. Then CP last month.
I guess like everyone on here there’s just that awful feeling of running out of time.

@EC22 am scrolling back and can't find how far along you were... the size seems quite huge so perhaps you were further along yes. Glad you took picks... when I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks and did pass my little bean.. but was probably only a few cms in size with all the other bits around it..

So sorry to hear you are feeling down. Getting AF is so tough. Yet even if it isn't your month this month, it will be again soon. Your lb will have a sibling. You just have to keep trying. Have you had more than 1 loss?

@EC22 sorry to hear this. When I had a cp at 5 weeks I passed huge clots, and small pieces of tissue but not 5x7" that sounds very big for 5 weeks. Glad you took a pic to show mw. Are you definitely sure it's not a clot?

I’ve been really down since my CP last month. We’ve been away this month and really gave it our best shot, loads of sex, used preseed, both taking supplements. Got a negative test this morning and spotting. I’ve sat and cried all morning. Then I feel terrible because I’ve got my beautiful little boy and should just be grateful. And I am but I really didn’t want a sibling for him.

I’ve done really well at work though and have been successful in getting a great training opportunity so will be starting a new Degree in September. That will keep me busy for the next 3yrs.

Read the thread for hours yesterday and so glad I found you girls. I posted on the August bus with my 'protocol' and someone commented they'd never seen such a long list! I was like "really?" So now I guess I've found the proper thread for me as you ladies are pretty much doing what I'm doing - hitting this ttc seriously with lots of research.

I wasn't even ttc until 3.5 months ago and since then my life has been consumed by pregnancy-trying to get pg-waiting to see if I am pg-waiting to try and get pregnant-cp's-mc's-doctors&hospital visits.

My DH didn't want another baby after our 5 year old. That is our only child within this marriage. I have another 8 year old from a previous abusive relationship. Had to leave that pretty sharpish after son was born.

Then met my DH and fell pg accidentally at 38. Son born with congenital disabilities (sweetest child ever!), but scared the heck out of us both. I got serious pnd for 2 years. Marriage nearly fell apart etc

Our son is 5 now, he's adorable and our marriage is stronger than ever now after a lot of soul searching, finding God, and we are ready to try and bring another miracle into this world.

Haven't had an easy run of it but able to conceive - not sure if sticking power is just poor quality eggs or if there's a womb lining thing and hormonal thing going on too. Got referred to RMC after last loss. Seeing them in August.

So in addition to healthy eating, getting good vitamins, minerals, etc I also have started this 'protocol' recently:

CoQ10 600mg
Vit D3 1000iu
Vit C 4000mg
Pregnenolone 50mg
Nicotinomide B3 (non flush) 500mg
Baby Aspirin
Iron tablets from GP (low after recent D&C)
Iodine
Cough medicine (non drowsy)
Folic acid 5mg
Melatonin 2mg
1/2 glass pomegranate juice up to ovulation
Grapefruit (canned) some days leading up to ovulation
Preseed
Soft cups
More green tea
I don't drink, smoke, can't eat chocolate (due to medical condition)! Bummer.
1 cup instant coffee per day

I run around all day after my two children and feel completely exhausted all the time. The idea of stress free and reflexology sounds wonderful and I'd like that in my life.

My GP told me the antidepressants I was on were toxic to animals so I had to do a super fast taper when last pg. I'm glad she told me this as they might have been causing the losses. Who knows? We shall see now I'm off them if there's any difference.

After my last loss, had to have an emergency D&C, suspected partial molar (waiting on pathology). I personally don't think so (just think my womb was seriously messed up and needed a good clear out). The ultrasound showed an absolute mess in there. Bulky womb, weird lining.

One more thing I'll add is about other people reactions. My mum is warning me not to get pg, others are surprised when I tell them my age and ttc, nurses at EPU and RMC see this all the time and one said, so long as you are in it for the long haul and prepared for the losses, there's a good chance you'll have another baby. I overheard a 30 year old saying she was too old for another, I almost spat out my drink! I didn't have my first til 35! Next one at 38 and hopefully 3rd at 44. Imagine thinking 30 is too old! My goodness, even my grandmother 50 years ago had her last at 42 and that was way before all the help we can get these days.

Sorry if this is TMI but I passed a huge bit of tissue, felt like I was delivering a placenta, about 7 inchx4inch. I’ve never had a miscarriage but I assumed at 5 weeks it’d just be like a heavy period. I got such a fright and was absolutely distraught, my husband had to come home from work. I have rpt bloods at 3pm so will show midwife photo but I now wonder if I was possibly further on.

Good morning ladies, my test was negative. I went to the bathroom at 3am and had super light spotting but it seems to have gone again this morning so I have literally no idea what's going on with me lol?! IV resigned to the fact it won't happen this month and I'm actually ok with that , will however keep you posted on my journey and hope it's ok to hang about and see how everyone else is doing, big hugs to you all

Hello again ladies, yes I've just been floating around too. It that post ovulation day, waiting for af limbo land. Don't even think I did ovulate in all honesty. I'm defo not on the ball with this. I'm also feeling decrepit @hmmm123 and as it's 3am so also feeling the mid night baby panic.

Hi ladies, found this thread earlier today and have been reading through but have yet to get to the end. Didn't want to lose the thread so just a quick hello for now and I'll post properly tomorrow.

Me: 43, DH 42 (soonish)
Two children 8 & 5
DH didn't want another until recently.
4th cycle ttc
Cycle 1 - cp @ 5 weeks
Cycle 2 - cp @ 4 weeks
Cycle 3 - mc @ 6 weeks with D&C

@hmmm123 so sorry Hun, I'm not due af till 23/7 but no symptoms at all, the cramping and spitting all stopped last week. Had some cm yesterday but that's also gone now and I think I'm just a bit mental waiting to feel things happening .! A lady on another thread said I could test tomorrow but I'm not sure if I have the balls lol! Xxx
