@KristieP2018 I know what you mean, I waited 4 days after my period was due to test as I couldn’t bear to see a negative test if it was just my period being late!

KristieP2018 · 05/06/2019 12:14

Thank you mimosa and twinkle. I really hope that’s what it was!

twinkledag · 05/06/2019 12:04

@KristieP2018 - I had implantation bleed on both of my pregnancies (via IVF, second one ended in MC ). I've had 6 transfers and the only ones that I've had pregnancies for have had implantation bleeding. Good luck!

KristieP2018 · 05/06/2019 11:58

@chatbash72 and I am kind of kicking myself for not keeping hpts in the house. I have opks but I drink almost 5 liters a day so that won’t show anything lol. Tomorrow if no af shows!

littlemimosa · 05/06/2019 11:57

Ruby - tentative congratulations, so many bfps on here recently - it gives me hope! I can understand your worry though....it never ends does it lol.

Kristie - test! Only one way to find out. Fingers crossed hun.

KediKat · 05/06/2019 11:46

Thank you @SparrowSG @Cleozeta I also got the Ava because I don't wake at the same time in the morning and was getting a temp reads regularly was a chore. I will continue using and hope tracking from from CD1 will give me a better picture data wise.
If anyone wants a £20 Ava discount code let me know.

Chatbash72 · 05/06/2019 11:46

Ooh @KristieP2018 I'd test.... 🤞🤞🤞and to you @rubyroot

KristieP2018 · 05/06/2019 10:53

@constance1234 and I always refuse to test until I miss a period. Which I never have missed one so I haven’t tested. I’m like clockwork lol

Constance1234 · 05/06/2019 10:46

@KristieP2018 that does sound promising. I know it’s hard to try to not to get your hopes up! The only way to know is to test :)

KristieP2018 · 05/06/2019 10:29

Girls I’m having the weirdest cycle this month. I ran out of opks and think I missed my peak by the time I got more so I don’t know 100% when I ov but...I dried immediately like normal so I believe I ovulated on 20/05. On Saturday 01/06, I had a pinpoint drop of blood followed by two small streaks of pinkish/orange blood. I had some cramping that day so I figured it was af even though it was only 12 dpo. Ive had NOTHING since. Period is two days late as of now. I’ve had nausea, back pain, bloating, light cramping on and off, tired, headaches all since Saturday.

What is going on?! I want so much to believe it was implantation but I know how rare that is and I don’t want to get my hopes up.

I’m thinking of buying some hpts tomorrow. Should I or should I just wait a little longer. My lp are always 14 days. This is odd. Confused

twinkledag · 05/06/2019 09:33

Hello and sorry for disappearing for a while.

Congratulations to all the BFPs and scans, amazing.

And good luck to to everyone still trying. 💐

As for me, we had a consultation at ARGC and have booked to see Colin Davis at Evewell in a couple of weeks and then we will make a decision on embarking on another round of IVF. In the meantime we will try naturally.

karryk · 05/06/2019 08:17

@rubyroot congrats! Fingers crossed for you Smile I know what you mean. I spend ages trying to get pregnant and then when I finally am a whole new host of anxieties crop up!

One day we can be ourselves again Grin xx

rubyroot · 04/06/2019 23:09

Yeah I know- I chose this, right? I know I can go through this again- but these first few weeks are so hard aren’t they?!

rubyroot · 04/06/2019 23:08

Hi all

I’m back after having a faint positive. I feel so anxious worried and stressed. I’m 40. Had miscarriage at 37, had baby at 39 and then tfmr at 13.5 weeks in sept due to t21. I feel so scared and can’t even think.

littlemimosa · 04/06/2019 22:59

Booseys - apparently the over 40s births outnumber teenage births now for the first time in history!

littlemimosa · 04/06/2019 22:58

Jamie - here here. Well said girl. I was amazed by the negativity and not in a good way. I’m staying clear of ‘those’ threads from now on! Whilst many of us would say that circumstances have put us here ttc in our 40s I’d bet most of us are in a far better place to provide a good life for our children now. I know we are. Financially stable, big enough house near good schools, loads of energy and love to give. Age is just a number today. My parents are in their early 70s and are doing Pilates, yoga, gym & body pump most days. I plan to be the same. It’s such an old-fashioned out-dated view that we must have our children in our 20s/early 30s. Oh and you should see my 60-year old yoga teacher. She’s gorgeous and can rock a crab, splits, handstand & more! There’s chronological age and there’s biological age ladies. 💪🏼

BooseysMom · 04/06/2019 18:41

@jamiecooks.. brilliantly put Grin. If it's such a terrible thing to conceive in your 40s how come the stats are higher than ever for 40s mums, even first time mums?! I was 40 and nearly 41 when I had my first and now I know I'm too old for a 2nd but we are blessed Smile

Chatbash72 · 04/06/2019 16:18

Ooh @littlemimosa step away from the nasty thread.. gosh why are people soooo judgemental.. we have some friends like that, needless to say I don't share my thoughts with them.. welcome @Nickimum3 and @aprilfoolsbaby and @jamiecooks and yup I'd get busy ASAP... good have lots more ladies joining..
Oh my god @sheshootssheimplores and @SparrowSG nearly spat my tea out from snorting with laughter from your comments re trackers 🤣🤣
Atm day 5 in cycle and cracking on with the house renovations and clearing through stuff in the house.. feels quite cathartic..
sending lots of baby dust to you fabulous ladies

sheshootssheimplores · 04/06/2019 15:07

Petra which brand and dose do you take?

I actually feel the same about many of my miscarriages. I extended breast fed both my children and have subsequently found out I was chronically iron deficient. Whilst age was absolutely a factor I think my body just couldn’t cope. I had DS1 at 37 and we started trying again when he was 6 months old. Didn’t manage to have my second until i was nearly 41!!!

Now 44 and of course I want that bonus baby but I don’t think it’s going to happen if I’m honest. Stupidly tested today and it’s BFN, I’m around 10dpo on what’s now a 28 cycle. I know I’m out but because I caught last cycle I’ve irritatingly become all hopeful again. ARGH.

Ignore the bitches on AIBU. They live for making others miserable as their own lives are so fucking boring.

PetraRabbit · 04/06/2019 14:52

@jamiecooks A different perspective from me...We TTC when my DC was 7 months, got pg immediately but had a MMC dated at 10 weeks- classic chromosome problem I guessed but I also now believe that BF and a fairly recent pg had been hard on my body and depleted it of vitamins. I kicked myself for not having taken ubiquinol, only folic acid. Obviously everyone's advice is so subjective (and I say this from the very fortunate position of being pg with my second at nearly 44) but I'd try to get at least 2 months worth of ubiquinol at a high dose into your system before trying, especially as you are still only 40 and have some recent proven fertility. And my advice is doubled if you have been bf your DC until recently. Accupuncture would be your friend too! Whatever you decide, I think luck comes into it a lot too so sending you plenty of that!

EllieJaye · 04/06/2019 10:19

@jamiecooks totally agree, its a personal choice, end of story

karryk · 04/06/2019 10:12

@jamiecooks yes! Grin 👍🏼

Constance1234 · 04/06/2019 09:33

@jamiecooks very well said! x

jamiecooks · 04/06/2019 08:22

Why are people so negative about it?! For me, I didn’t meet mr right until I was 36 and then it takes a good couple of years of getting to know one another to see if you’re right together for ever! Then I got pregnant at 38, lost that baby. Got pregnant at 39 and we now have a child and then obvs you don’t want to get pregnant straight away again hence I’m hurtling towards 41.

For me it wasn’t a choice, it was circumstances. But even if it is a choice, it’s exactly that, a personal choice.

Whatever age you choose to have kids is your choice. Personally I am glad to be having them in my 40’s. I caned my career for years so got to the point where I can now command a high salary for a 28 hour week with no overtime and flexible working hours/ability to work from home. We are also financially very secure so have no money worries. But most of all, I have the best husband in the world - he is an amazing partner and an even more amazing dad. So our child could not ask for better. If he grows up to be half the man his dad is, he’ll be amazing. So I’m glad it has happened the way it has.

And all those twats can just slither back into their dark wet miserable holes!!!
