Pretty sure I ovulated yesterday (hopefully!), due AF on 13th May, anybody else starting their 2WW?

(Warning: I am a serial symptom spotter and POAS addict, I have zero willpower 😂)

@MMama18 yes definitely haha 😂 I downloaded the Ovia app too and that gave you so many options for symptoms that I just went stupidly click happy even if I had the slightest headache that was going down on the list 😂 I've just turned 24 so I know I've got lots of time but when you get the idea in your head you just want it to happen straight away!

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 15:02

Hi @als! You become so sensitive to your body everything feels like a symptom doesn’t it! I’ve never had ov pain that I remember before, but this month I’m so aware of every little niggle that a sharp pain on my right side near mid cycle MUST be ov pain (let’s face it, it could have just been trapped wind! 😳)

@Rudy yes but DH is an old fogey at 31 😉 with an aversion to any green leafy foods! (I slipped kale in this mornings smoothie, he knows nothing about it 😂)

@Roo3 that’s the only down side, if no luck this month I could just be gearing myself up for the mother of all heavy AFs 😫

@MMama18 I'm 26, so not far off you! Had a really long (56/57 day cycle) coming off the pill, so this is our first proper month of trying and actually knowing when I was ovulating.

I've heard that about lining too. Had a very heavy af this month, so here's hoping! 🤞

RudyRoo · 01/05/2019 13:39

@MMama18 excellent, thanks for the info 👍🏼
My goodness you are a spring chicken! You have youth on your side 😊

als2912 · 01/05/2019 12:55

Hope it's ok to join you!

TTC Cycle 5
I think I ovulated on 24th/25th April
AF due 12th May

Trying so hard not to test! can't say I've had many symptoms as of yet but the last couple of cycles I went a bit crazy with the symptom spotting so trying to keep calm this month!

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 12:26

@Roo3125 sorry

@Roo1325 welcome!
Ahh you’re AF is due the day before me, 🤞 they don’t show!
Ignore my bad influence re POAS addiction, it’s a bad habit to get into! 😂

@Rudy I was the same as you and didn’t want anything high in sugar so I started with POM last time, but it’s quite expensive (£3.70 in Sainsbury’s for 700ml) but it was the lowest sugar content I could find. My DM shops at Morrison’s and they do their own branded juice (in the chilled section with apple juice etc) and it’s £1 for 1L and only a bit higher in sugar. I used to get her to pick me some up in her weekly shop as she knew we were TTC but it’s a secret this time so I’ll probably be swapping between the two (if not got lucky this time) as Morrison’s is very out of the way for us.

I was told 8oz a day by a MNetter, so that’s what I stuck to! Smoothies is the way forward for me, I was never very good with tequila shudders and still a spring chicken at 24 so no excuse really 🙈🙊

Hi, hope it's ok to join!

On ttc cycle #1
Ovulated yesterday
Af or BFP due 12th of May.

Hoping for good news this month but don't want to become poas addicted haha! 😂

RudyRoo · 01/05/2019 11:48

@MMama18 yes I heard that too, I think I am going to stock up on pomegranate juice! Which brand do you buy? I don't want to get one packed with sugar...also how much do you take, a glass a day? Not too bothered by taste, I can just down it if it's not too nice. (Plenty of practice in my younger years drinking tequila 😂)

Your smoothies sound like an excellent plan and you'll be getting lots of other goodness in there too, all will be helpful for TTC 👍🏼

Yes thank bloody god for this holiday coming up, hopefully I'll be able to switch my brain off for a couple of weeks!

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 09:56

@Rudy glad your hormones are behaving! That’s one less thing to worry about 👍 getting DH tested too sounds like a good idea, it’s not invasive testing for him, whereas I think from here for women it gets rather uncomfortable so best to pursue the easiest option first!

After a bit of googling it seems to be a minimum lining of 7-8mm is considered a good chance of implantation, so if there’s not much loss for you perhaps that’s why?

After my MCs I saw lots of ladies on MN swear by drinking pomegranate juice (if you like cranberry it’s fine, if like me you don’t, it’s rank!), it supposedly increases blood flow to your uterus and therefore helps build a thicker lining? No idea if there’s any science in it, but I did it when TTC a third time and DD was a nice sticky baby!

This time around I’m blending it into fruit smoothies for breakfast as I really can’t stand the taste! And making DH drink it too as from further reading it’s supposed to be good for his swimmers too!

If DTD is GPs only advice, it’s a good job you’ve got a nice baby-making holiday coming up! 😉

Hi @MMama18 thanks for your thinking of me this morning! 😊 so I am just back from the docs and apparently everything is fine. Progesterone levels were 40 so its seems I am ovulating fine. I was in such a flap this morning about it as well! (Constant over-worrier 🙄)
About the light periods, he said he doesn't seem to think this would cause an issue, but wasn't ruling it out. Basically I don't think he knew, a bit of a grey area. We have been TTC for 8 months and I am 33, DH 34. I was also thinking there may be an issue with the lining too, but GP says he won't refer for any other tests for me until it has been a year. Just to keep DTD! He has said he will test DH sperm though so we will do that next week to rule that out. I'm on CD30 now and still no AF (which isn't exactly unusual for me) so I might pluck up the courage and do a test in a couple of days if nothing has happened. x

@Abi58 oh yes your body certainly does play tricks on you! I'm just so aware now of every sensation in my body! 😬
I have been off the pill for 8 months and didn't get any AF until about 8 weeks after. Since then my cycles have been anything from 30 - 46 but generally around the 34/35 mark which I seem to recall is what they were like when I was much younger before the pill. So basically I don't think they have fully settled down now but hopefully I'm getting there. The only concern I'm having is the tiny amount of flow. I thought that would have stopped after coming off. Mine sounds like yours - no sanitary products needed really. I have also started taking Agnus Castus to regulate cycles which is something you may want to look into further down the line.
I hope you get a BFP or AF soon! It's so annoying being in limbo land. X

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 07:39

@Rudy good luck this morning, 🤞 for you that it’s good news! X

MMama18 · 30/04/2019 20:38

@Abi argh it can be so confusing can’t it! I had a coil before having my DD and when I had it taken out I bled immediately and then got pregnant first month without really trying, unfortunately that ended in MC but I then got pregnant immediately again (another MC) so by the time it came to TTC a third time I had no idea whatsoever where I was as I’d not had an actual period in months!

I used ovulation predictor kits OPKs which (sorry if you already know this!) you POAS the same as a pregnancy test, usually during your fertile week and your test line gets darker as it’s detecting a rise in leutinising hormone that peaks just before ovulation (your darkest test line). That helps you know when to DTD.

My tactic this month was to just DTD every over day so that whenever I ovulated there would be sperm around to meet the egg (although I’m now being a CF and wishing I’d used OPKs 😂), but for you I’d suggest DTD ever other day now until you get your AF (or BFP) juuuust in case ov was late, you never know!
Then next cycle use the OPKs if you have no luck this time.

@RudyRoo
Just read your other post. Keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow, I'm sure everything is fine!
How long have you been off the pill for? I started when I was 16 for acne so I only had less than a year of 'real' periods - which probably were only mild as had so few!
On the pill it went from 5 days regular to 3 days very light then the last few years it was 24-48 hours and 95% of the time I was only when I wiped didn't even need anything, when I did it was only for my own peace of mind if I was doing something or out. I went to ask and they said the pill can do that and not to worry, could it be the pill doing things to your hormones still?
Let us know how you get on tomorrow

Abi58 · 30/04/2019 20:29

@RudyRoo it's definately torture! I keep feeling like I might be pregnant but it could be my hormones or my mind playing tricks on me. The first 3 weeks after I stopped the pill my nipples were unbelievably sore! (Sorry tmi) the last few days i keep feeling nauseous and having a few odd cramps but again it could be af or just hormones Confused - tested this morning with a cheap internet test and it was bfn!
Keeping everything crossed for either a bfp or at least some regularity Grin
How did you find it when you came off?
Are you having regular cycles now? Or at least able to predict and rest sort of at the right time?

Abi58 · 30/04/2019 20:26

*due

Abi58 · 30/04/2019 20:25

@MMama18
This will be our first and because of coming off the pill I have no idea when af is die. If I pretend my last period was when I stopped the pill and should have had my withdrawal bleed (that never came) I'm due on this weekend.

Hoping my cycle returns pretty quickly s I can know when to try and when to test etc atm I'm testing so much trying to catch anything haha!

MMama18 · 30/04/2019 20:11

@Rudy that sounds really sucky ☹️ I wonder though if it is that you’re ovulating okay 🤞 maybe your lining isn’t thick enough for implanting? Again no expert but I know when I had my two MCs back to back they suggested it could be a uterine lining issue, apparently there’s a minimum little eggs like it to be (I can’t for the life of me remember but I’m sure Dr Google can tell us!) and if it’s too thin they don’t implant properly hence the MCs (mine were very early 5/6 weeks at most). I’m sure there’s things they can do to help with ovulation and uterine lining though 🤞 how long have you been TTC if you don’t mind me asking?

OP posts:
RudyRoo · 30/04/2019 18:56

@Abi58 I totally have sympathy for you in the coming off and not having a clue what your body is doing. I had that for a couple of months after coming off...and tbh still not totally sure wtf is going on 😂 you should take a test just to be sure and I hope you get your cycles get back to normal soon. It's torture isn't it!

RudyRoo · 30/04/2019 18:53

@MMama18 sounds to me like you've got your ovulation is bang on. People do say ewcm is the best indicator so I'm sure you've nailed it (literally 😂) I think if not using OPK's is stressing you out then using them next month sounds like a good plan. I guess it makes you feel slightly more in control. But you never know, you may not need them if you get lucky! I would use when you think you ovulated as a guide for the POAS to commence!
I know, that's what I'm thinking too. It will be a lovely distraction to be away and not be so focused on this TTC busniness. It's doing my head in to be honest and feel like it's consuming all my thoughts!
Just a little bit more of my back story since I'm already rambling on also I may as well continue: I have had very, very light periods for a while not and I think this may be (no expert obvs) affecting my fertility. I have docs appt at 9am to get results back from CD21 tests (to make sure I am ovulating okay) and I feel so nervous about it. Argh! Confused

MMama18 · 30/04/2019 17:56

Hi @Abi is this your first cycle TTC first baby?
When is your AF due?
I’m already so bored of 2WW and I’m only on my first day 😫 so I’ll be excited for you instead!

OP posts:
Abi58 · 30/04/2019 17:51

Me (I think!)
Stopped the pill near the end of March and not had a withdrawal bleed or period but had some discharge (sorry tmi) 1 and a half weeks ago that could have been ewcm. If it was and I ovulated I'm about 11/12 dpo - but as I have no idea what my cycle or body is doing I might not even be in any sort of cycle yet which is diving me a bit mad Grin

MMama18 · 30/04/2019 17:33

Sorry, I rambled and never answered your question 😂
Yes I want to know for definite my ov day so I can work out when I can realistically start POAS (when I say realistically I mean ridiculously early at like 9dpo 😂)

OP posts:
MMama18 · 30/04/2019 17:29

That’s what I’m thinking (the calm half of me anyway!), every other day should do the magic! And I wasn’t tracking CM either but had heaps of EWCM for about 2 days so I couldn’t really miss it! It turned slightly watery yesterday and then there’s a lack of it today, plus the pain yesterday, so now the crazy half of me is now trying to work out DPO and it’s winning 😂 which was the whole reason I was not using OPKs!

I think this has all caused me more ‘what ifs’ than if I’d used the damn OPK, and I’m barely in the 2WW which I’ll spend thinking every niggle is implantation 😫 so next month I will be using OPKs (and as much as I’d like to say I wouldn’t, I probably would be smuggling them in my suitcase if I were going away!)

I know it sounds SO cliche but I have heard of so many couples getting pregnant on holidays because they just stop tracking/caring/worrying and just had a nice time and relaxed! So sensible me 😇 says ditch the OPKs... (...😈 take the OPKs....)
