@Fivebyfive2 Ahh that’s so nice! At this stage I honestly can’t tell either way. DH has my FRERs though so I won’t be testing any earlier haha!
I think you’ve made a really good decision there; and as you say, should you have any issues before your scan the EPU will see you right away anyway. I know so many people who have real ‘scan anxiety’ so the idea of an earlier one never appealed at all - I think it’s such a personal decision to make! How are you feeling, has it all sunk in yet?

Marleym28 · 07/05/2019 18:07

@MrsEG I'm 12dpo with AF due Thursday.
BUT I keep getting twinges today and that 'any minute' feeling, yesterday I was a zombie too which usually is my pre period thing so I'm just going to wait for her to arrive. On the off chance she doesn't (fingers crossed) then I'll test.
I'm not being negative but I've had little symptoms this cycle and we didn't DTD much as DH was away a bit.

Fivebyfive2 · 07/05/2019 17:56

@MrsEG, I'll be popping in here on the regular to see if it's your month!! Just read your post about your cycles getting slightly longer following your mc, as mine got slightly shorter... It is all so weird how it affects everyone different!

I got my booking apt today, for 3rd of June! I have tentatively decided Not to have an early scan. I kept mulling it over and my thoughts are: either it's good news, but there's still a month where is could easily go wrong, or it will be bad news, in which case I'll find out at the 12 week one anyway. Tbf, my hospital were really good when I went in with just the spotting they scanned me the next day, so if anything is amiss before 12 weeks, I'll just show up there again like I did last time!

@starkid Ah Great news! I think it really helps mentally to get through the TWW when you know you’ve timed the BDing just right! Keeping FX for you.

@Bettythecat Totally agree - it’s nice just to know your periods are getting back to normal! It’s just nice thinking your body is ‘working’! I’m googling local acupuncture as we speak!

Is anyone planning to test this week at all? I’m 8DPO so slap bang in the middle but at least this time next week I’ll know one way or another!

Bettythecat · 07/05/2019 15:50

@MrsEG I don't think it matters when in your cycle you have it but they will ask you about your cycle and where you are in it etc (or mine did anyway but she was a specialist for fertility so you would expect that!) @starkid sounds very positive well done for hitting the right days! I'm also crap with needles but weirdly was ok with accupuncture as she was so lovely but I did feel a bit odd when she put one in my head!!

@MrsEG thanks for the info on spotting. It's annoying but actually I'm taking it as maybe being a good sign. After coming off the coil my periods were only 2 days long and pretty light and then the first one after the mmc was also really light so at least this one seems more like a "proper" period if that's even a thing!!

starkid · 07/05/2019 15:30

Am also quite interested in acupuncture, although am scared of needles haha!

@MrsEG - that's a good thing to remember- different egg, different sperm each time, and only takes 1 to succeed.

I feel quite confident about this cycle with regards to catching ovulation - i had another positive opk yesterday, so am guessing today's the day for ovulating, and if we dtd again tomorrow, we'll have had 4 times in the fertile window - a first for us! Grin Of course, that means nothing if the route is blocked, but hey ho, the scan will confirm that so no use worrying.

MrsEG · 07/05/2019 14:41

@Bettythecat Oh fab thank you, I’ll have a proper search for it! Do they say when in your cycle it is best to have it done?
I never normally have spotting post AF but in my two cycles post-MMC I did, and apparently it’s common, it’s just your body re-regulating itself. Annoying though - last month I thought I was done, put on some really nice undies... ruined!

@MotherOfShihTzus I’m 8DPO today, we’re practically cycle twins :) Remember all it takes is one sperm to get through! FX for you!

@Lozzlepop I find myself getting really anxious about it too but a friend said to me you have to remember each pregnancy is different, it will be a completely different sperm and egg next time and there’s no reason to suggest it won’t all be fine :) I also try and stay really distracted at the moment so I don’t find myself sat thinking / worrying about it during my TWW!

MotherOfShihTzus · 07/05/2019 12:33

Hello all. Hope everyone is well? Has there been any positive news?

I'm back on; 7dpo but we were rubbish at ddt this cycle :( upset me as it was my first in the soy isoflavones so I guess we won't know if they are any good!

Bettythecat · 07/05/2019 11:36

@MrsEG I paid for it at a yoga studio that also does treatments- I'm sure there are some private ones near you maybe if you fancied giving it a try. I really enjoyed it even if it doesn't do much!!

Af arrived Thursday and lasted 3 days but I have had brown spotting since then. What do others get in terms of spotting after "proper" bleeding has finished? This is not very normal for me.

Lozzlepop · 07/05/2019 09:43

@MrsEG I know, we went to my OHs friends on Sunday and they told us they had a MC prior to having their son (and currently pregnant with #2) I am quite anxious about getting back on the 🐎 so to speak 😂

starkid · 07/05/2019 08:48

@PinkFizz19 - sorry to hear about your mc xx

Hi newbies and welcome!

MrsEG · 07/05/2019 08:15

@ValidUser Good luck with your TWW and FX!

@Lozzlepop Sadly it really is, we’ve also had plenty of people around us tell us they have been through the same. Almost all of them went on to have healthy babies (one currently 16 weeks and one recently born!) so it will happen for us too :)

@Bettythecat I’m so interested in acupuncture but the fertility specialists near me have such long waiting lists! If I don’t get lucky this month though I think I’ll look in to it next month!

@PippaPug Welcome and enjoy your first cycle!

@PinkFizz19 I’m so sorry to hear it, my cycles were a little longer post MMC (I had a D&C so don’t know whether this affected it) but only by a few days. Really frustrating though!

@Lottiepink I am 8DPO today; not looking for symptoms at all but I have to say at the gym yesterday my nipples were really hurting!! Could literally just be nothing though, who knows!

@Hopefulmum2be Welcome! FX for your tests if you’ve had a faint positive already, do you have a pic?

@Mirana Welcome! Wow that does sound really tough - when DH is home is he able to stay for a little while? Sounds like you have DTD at the right times this month though so FX!

@Dollywilde I use Clear Blue digital OPKs as I just find them so much clearer/easier to know where I am. Good luck!

Lozzlepop · 07/05/2019 08:09

@Bettythecat I know it’s been a rough ride, I’m glad I went medical and only bled for about 5-6 days so just need to wait for AF to decide when she wants to come back now! That’s really interesting about the fertility acupuncture, I didn’t even know such a thing existed, will need to see if it’s available in my area!

@Lottiepink thanks hun, we are getting there ❤️

Dollywilde · 07/05/2019 07:38

Congratulations @mchelenz and hello all the newbies and returners Flowers

OPKs start today, quite pleased to feel like I’m doing something about it again! The 10 days between AF arriving and now have been pretty dull.

I’m planning on testing once a day at lunchtime but when they’re getting darker go up to twice - anyone think I should do it more/less?

Mirana · 07/05/2019 01:00

Hiya, please may I join?! I'm 28, TTC #1, cycle 6.

I really just need people to talk to about this stuff before my OH smothers me Grin . I had a mmc in 2015 with a previous partner (wasn't a planned pregnancy) which I found pretty awful and took me a good 3 years to recover from emotionally - I found out I'm not made as strong as I thought! Been with my current partner for around 2 years, but due to us both having issues around fertility we decided to try sooner rather than later. He's also currently working 200 miles away and we see each other sporadically until I move so I imagine this is going to be a long wait.

I'm on CD26 (it's 1am) and got positive opk's on Sunday. It's my first month of getting positive opk's (fertility treatment is working!) but obviously on a very long cycle still. I got a borderline positive on Saturday night, DTD in the early hours of Sunday and got a clear positive Sunday morning so hope we caught it! Opk's were negative again by Sunday evening, found it very strange that it's so fleeting but very exciting!

Good luck to everyone :)

Hopefulmum2be · 07/05/2019 00:25

Hi everyone!
I’m new here but have been reading these threads for awhile.
I’m 29, and husband and I have decided to start ttc.
We are on cycle 2. And last cycle I used an ovulation predictor.
I’m a pee-on-a-stick addict!!
I’m 10DPO today and got a faint positive last night and another this morning!!! Fingers crossed!
I have so much anxiety about chemical pregnancy’s so I know I shouldn’t have but I just had to test!
My cycles haven’t been super regular as I only came off birth control in March. So I’m not sure when to expect AF! Which means more anxiety!

@pinkfizz19 - I’m so sorry to hear about your MC. 💔

Hi 👋🏻 @Pippapug

Mrskcam · 06/05/2019 22:20

Also sorry I’m not being rude and ignoring everyone, I’m on this on my phone and even though I press refresh sometimes the new messages don’t come up :(

Mrskcam · 06/05/2019 22:19

Haven’t ended up DTD tonight as my lower back has started aching so bad and I’m feeling really nauseous ... I usually never get any sort of pains or nausea at any point of my cycle let alone before ovulation, is it normal for your body to just completely change during your cycle for no reason

Lottiepink · 06/05/2019 21:56

@McHelenz congratulations 👏🏽 definite now ☺️

@Lozzlepop so sorry 😘 hope you are ok x

I'm 5 dpo and thankfully not symptom spotting... yet 🤣

PinkFizz19 · 06/05/2019 21:48

Hiya ladies 😘

Thought I'd pop in to mark my place and say hello again. Waiting for AF to arrive after our mc the week before Easter (approx 6+5) then we can actively TTC again on cycle 5. Want to get straight back on the horse as they say as there's a baby shaped hole in my heart what I need to fill 💔 we have DTD a couple of times since and not used protection however I'd be very surprised if we got caught. Hoping my cycles aren't too affected and will stick to 27 days then once AF shows I can get the OPKs out again.

Huge Congratulations to the BFPs I've missed. Sorry I've not tagged you all individually but I wish you all a happy and healthy 9 months 💛 xxx

PippaPug · 06/05/2019 20:43

Can I join this thread?!
Don’t understand all the abbreviations yet but I’m sure I will soon enough!
I’m 29 and cycle one 😃

Bettythecat · 06/05/2019 19:33

@Lozzlepop I had the surgery but still bled for about ten days afterwards. I've had one proper cycle now and one very light period about 4 weeks after the bleeding stopped before that. So sorry to hear it happened to you too- it's a very painful thing to go through.

I went for a fertility accupuncture session today. We chatted for about half an hour about my health and cycle etc and then she did a "light" session of accupuncture targeting particular pressure points. It was extremely relaxing if nothing else so let's see! One really interesting thing she said is she asked me to lift my tongue up and said she could tell I had just finished my period because apparently before af the vessels under your tongue are full of blood! Weird! She also said my heart centre was quite blocked as she thought maybe my body was still carrying some grief from the mmc and also asked if I am an overthinker or have a lot going on in my mind as she could feel a lot of tension around my head! Erm yes!! Anyway just thought you might be interested in case anyone is thinking of trying it 😊

Lozzlepop · 06/05/2019 18:51

@Bettythecat sorry to hear about your MMC too ❤️ I went medical, what about you? No AF hasn’t appeared yet and I’ve not even thought about TTC properly again, just dipping my toe gently back into the thread ☺️

@Lokicat thank you hun! Hope all is well with you ❤️

@MrsEG hello 👋🏻 sorry to hear your news too! It’s much more common that I originally thought and have actually been surprised at the amount of people who have had losses. But we will all get there 👶🏼

ValidUser · 06/05/2019 17:24

@McHelenz delighted for you!

Start of 2ww here. Wish me luck and patience!

starkid · 06/05/2019 15:51

@McHelenz - I didn't get the notification for some reason - congratulations!!! No disbelieving anymore Grin
