Welcome noozes247 you're in good company, lots of hugs . Have got my fingers crossed for you. Sorry your AF arrived today it can really make you feel down after two weeks or hoping. Lets hope next month's the month. A baby in early summer would be lovely!! What's iui??? I am being referred onto infertility clinic so will probably be going through the same things. I have 4 days to wait until AF still keeping fingers crossed.

I do know a guy called Namir but never associated it with Forest Gump type thing. can't stop laughing now, I guess that cured me of one mad name. It's a good job it is taking me so long to conceive again as it means that they will probably stand quite a good chance of having a relatively normal name.

Hi all....May I join the thread? TTC since Dec 05, now contemplating IVF (and 4th cycle of iui later this month / early August!...). So sure I ov'd CD 14 and we had iui (day 13) and lots of great 'bonging' before / around crucial time, but AF arrived bang on time today - I'd even stood on head twice (post bd), as my sis recommended it (she's got triplets aged nearly 15!!) That was after 5.5 yrs ttc, and on her final cycle of metradin (spelling?) before she and DH 'threw in the towel' (neither could face pursuing the IVF route). My being an 'older bird' no doubt really counts against us, but I keep hoping that we may be the lucky ones!!

You may well have gone to sleep now, my best friends mum is retiring and I have been helping them cater for it tonight.

Nearly got washed away coming home from work today, was going through knee deep water in my little car. (I know it was knee deep cause there were some people who'd broken down in it and were wading out!!) Got home eventually with DH on the mobile telling me which way to go to avoid flooding. Really think that I should get a sat nav, will have to ask Father Christmas nicely...

I've missed so much. Scalett is a beautiful name.

My DH's nickname as a child was Oliver because he always wanted more. Therefore our first baby will either be Oliver or Olivia.

I love Eleanor for a girl Ellie for short. My friend has just called her daughter Evie.

We are undecided whether to have our baby christened or have a naming ceremony in the bandstand where we got married.

Hello back from work and have a spare 5 mins so thought I'd catch up.

Mad names: for a boy I really like Bo (no not boo, would probably get mick taken out of as initial of B.O so only if I win lottery and can afford very rich private school and not local comp) and not so mad Rubens. Nam for girl (means good in one of the African dilects) Can't think of the others but they will come to me later have had many a chuckle over crazy names.

Not so crazy include estelle (it reminds me of the portuguese for star

DH keeps coming up with wierd ones too so I think our children would be doomed to a long childhood with strange name.

I find boys names far easier, DH and I could have 10 boys and have no problems with names, but girls are proving more tricky!

Speaking as a hardened veteran here, I can tell you that there are 3 Scarlets in ds's group at nursery. One of them a friend's from NCT - she has amazing red hair unlike that others.

We got a mountain buggy. We are constrained because of having to dog walk - needed tough all-terrain model that would go everywhere, including shops and mountains. I can now go down steps without pushing down on the handle and going down on the back wheel. MB goes through 1' high grass, axle deep water/mud and over almost anything. However, the drawback is that it is quite long when it folds up - Polo needed the seat folded down on 1/2 back seat to cope. Absolutely fabulous for what we want, but not for everyone. Used from 2 / 3 wks laid flat, never used car seat fitment. Didn't worry too much about him looking away from me - sang a lot of nursery rhymes, talked a lot, enjoyed watching frisbee thrown for dog.... BTW - if you do get a 3wheeler like the mb, make sure you get one with a swivel wheel at the front. Whilst it doesn't make much difference when you're wheeling it round the shop before trying, or, indeed, when you have an 8wk old in it, believe me, it makes a difference when you have a 2.3 in it and are trying to push it round a very muddy field (guess what I've been doing today)

Christened - yes - lovely local church, part of service (we go there)

Names - family - only trouble is that combination of 1st name and surname is also same as relatively well-known celebrity who shortens the first name... 'Oh, you called him after a famous person' - 'Yes, his great grandfather was a Fellow of the Royal College' reply normally gets them.

Middle names - yes, two. 2nd name is dh, and my f, and my gf. 3rd name family name from dh's family - unsual, so quite nice to be a bit 'different'

Beds - started in moses basket, went onto cot beside bed with side off, then cot in his own room. Just moved into 'big boy' bed from Ikea - with dog and cat on head board (good for getting fingers stuck in th eye sockets).

Other name comments - some names at his nursery at the moment more appropriate for dogs in my opinion (in fact, know some dogs called them) or wouldn't even call my dog that...! Although the worst I have heard is someone calling their son 'Spike' not as a nickname - proper name!

Numbers: 2 would be great, but I'll settle for 1 if need be. Can't complain. You'll all get there at some stage!

Poppy - yes, I even got to eat something last night. THere are times when I do a show and do all the cooking and then go home hungry!

ps ready - just reading through the old thread and saw you asking about the bug fitting in a fiesta boot, I saw one being loaded into the boot of a new mini the other day, so no worries on the fiesta front (Aslo saw two being taken out of a golf boot the other week, but they did have the big wheels off)

Ready- I think Scarlett is a great girls name, Ruby is quite cute as well. I think boys names are abit more boring. I also have a list of mad names that I would love to choose but they would give them so much hassle at school etc..

My friend has married a native american and has two gorgeous children, the little boy is called Ka'i which means arrow. He is cool enough to carry it off.

Before all these problems with conceiving I thought I'd wait for a few years inbetween to regain body but now I think they'd have to be close together (to hell with the jelly tummy). Twins would be hard work but overall easier (I think).

MT - pampered chef rocks great night out and yummy food as well!!!

Toomuch - DH is very keen now, perhaps its a case of wanting what you can't seem to have

Ready I remember doing all those q's, was wondering about bringing it up again as we had such fun virtual shopping for buggies/bed/clothes and I couldn't think of any new questions! (and things change - I think I might be being tempted by the bug after all )

middles names are already decided in our house as DH family have a tradition of giving grandparent's first names as baby's middle name. Ours aren't too bad and we've come up with some names we like which go with the middle names and our surname. We actually agreed on a name for our first child when we'd only been going out for a couple of months! (sad aren't we )

Olivia is really pretty too! I think girls names are much easier than boys!

I'm just not sure on the bugaboos - my friend has one and its so big and unwielding that I didn't get on with it much.. However, I'm keeping an open mind - once I've had a 20 week scan I'm going to test drive each and every one and enjoy every minute of it before I pick which one I like!! I may start looking properly online now so we can all compare!! Do you have a favourite?

Middle names - I think middle names are nice - I just don't think I will give them to mine.. not sure why - just both of us never talk about using them..

I'd love a huge family - I've been loving watching brothers and sisters at the moment with Calista Flockhart where they've all grown up and they all gossip and go home for dinner and stuff - I reckon that would be amazing!

Age gaps - I'd love to have them really close together so I won't use contraception in between howeover, I accept that it may take a while to conceive..

SAHM - I work in quite a stressful job so I'd love to give it up for a few years and be a SAHM as I don't think I could cope with the hours and a baby.. but it depends on the money and the timing really..

Christened - No

Cot-beds or cribs - absolutely no idea - what's the difference!!? Obviously something I need to research!!

I really love Olivia, but that was number one last year. Gutted

We had loads of questions... how many children would you like, what gaps between? names? stay at home or back to work?, cotbed or crib? , christened or not? and loads more - I think it would be better to just start again. I don't think there are too many of us from when the thread started - and my opinions may well have changed in the last year

I didn't realise Scarlett was that popular - that changes everything. I want something pretty but not too popular. I find girl's names really hard. I've only ever heard of one little girl with the name though.

Toomuch - If you love a name, you should have it, even if someone else has already used it!
Why don't you want a bugaboo? I really like them, and apart from the price, I would love to have one.

Middle names - Well, I personally think that the middle name should be a family name. We already know the middle names we will have. Way premature isn't it!!

Don't think I'm going to bother with middle names - not that I have anything against them - just we don't have them and I'm struggling enough to come up with first names..

poppy/toomuch the everyone around being pregnant is only because you're conscious of it. Obviously we all go thru stages of e.g. weddings, 30th birthday parties babies, etc which doesn't help but it's as much that you're more aware of it.

Hi Ready!! I like the name Scarlett!! I can't really decide on names - I love lots of the names that people mention but can't come up with favourites of my own.. I think because I had a name I loved and my best mate used it for her first baby and therefore I don't want to get my heart set on anything!

There's a whole bunch of new recruits to this thread that Lottie started oh so many many months ago... perhaps we should start doing the questions things.... names, buggies, etc... What do people think to the name Scarlett?

Toomuch - Pampered Chef Cooking show - basically a demo (including cooking) of fantastic cookware - the host (who invites all her friends round) generally gets £50 - £100 of free goods as a result - some shows even better - one last Nov host spent £40 and got £280 of products -not bad for an excuse to invite your friends round for a glass of wine!). I do it becuase I love the range and its quite nice doing something totally different from what I do normally. Also means that dh has to take charge of ds for the night which a) is good for both of them and b) makes him appreciate a bit more what I normally do most nights. The advantages are that I make a little money, have a fun evening out, meet lots of people that I would not do otherwise, and get to get fantastic cookware either free or at a big discount. (sorry, sounds like a bit of a 'sales' rant - not meant to be, just enjoy doing it!). Anyway, if you're interested, I can get you more info if you'd like to have a party or might like something fun to do one or two evenings a week (I don't normally do more than 1, but some people make this their career)
