new thread here

Nurse was really lovely - got blood first time with no pain or even discomfort. She was also really good about explaining what was being tested for and sorted out for me to get results from GP instead of having to go to hospital for them, so all in all a lovely experience of how good it can be. (though I have had other not so good experiences at the same practice)
I searched for treenie again, she still hasn't posted since 13th July. I know fi is busy over the holidays, is toomuch away again or just being quiet? (sorry toomuch) Maybe we need to start a new thread so she can load it on her mobile? (I'll do so anyway - I've got a great thread title I've been itching to use )

Hi Nomore - hope it wasn't too bad. Last time I went to Drs for blood test, nurse booked in to do it - she tried 3 times then had to get one of the doctors! I don't have much luck with them do I? (mind you, this was after a fairly intensive session of having blood test v.regularly and veins not at all happy by this stage)

Lets hope that its a good result.

This thread does seem to be rather quiet at the moment - perhaps lots of people are on holiday or something? You never know, lots of people might come back off holiday shortly to not need this thread any longer...

Good luck to you Poppy! maybe when you next feel ready to come back, you will even be bringing a surprise BFP with you!

poppy75 · 06/08/2007 20:28

Hello everyone

Just to say that I'm going to take a break from mn for awhile as I've decided to not to ttc for the next few months. I am going to try and put energy into other things. I will probably look in from time to time to see how everyone is going but I need to put it to the back of my mind. Have been thinking about it for so long and am fed up with the stress and worrying, so finally I've decided. Good luck everyone and lots of babydust for you all

mistlethrush · 06/08/2007 13:06

Anniversary. At least, I think it is. And, also birthday later in the year

nomoremagnolia · 06/08/2007 12:49

big birthday or anniversary?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 06/08/2007 12:48

It's the plastic bag with the form attached with details for the lab as to what they're checking blood for and it's signed by the doc authorising it, so probably do need it! Will have to have a big search for it tonight.

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 06/08/2007 12:16

Do you really need the paper? For some of the ones I've been to I've not needed paper, but for others, agree, needed (particularly when they've supplied you with special vials and a padded envelope to send it off in etc)

Sounds a similar situation re presents here, although I think that we owe each other several CHristmases now... Do try to remember cards, although anniversary one went out of the window. Big one next year, so we should perhaps try a bit harder?

nomoremagnolia · 06/08/2007 11:24

I suspect it's hidden in a cupboard somewhere as we had friends using our house when we were away and DH got all paranoid that they'd look through all our stuff

re anniversaries - the day before our anniversary (5th) our conversation went something like this:
DH: have you got an anniversary card yet?
me: not yet, have you?
DH: no
me: shall we not bother?
DH: ok

Don't think we bothered last year either. I do bother (and so does DH) when we aren't going to be together for our anniversary (the first 3 we were in different countries)
The same often happens re xmas/b'day presents (or we get something to 'share' usually for the house) though I insist on birthday cards!

Hope goes well tomorrow. My veins have a habit of disappearing when required whcih isn't helpful. I have even managed to stump a professional phlobotomist (Sp???) who ended up having 3 goes and hitting a nerve the last time then getting a colleage to do it. There's always one isn't there, and in my experience, it often turns out to be me!

Kensgirl - sounds lovely, and how sweet . Our aniversary this year we were on the way into work before we remembered and then didn't even manage to have cards etc. Mind you, I do get my own back as its dh's bday the following day!

Nomore - if you're like me its in one of the piles of 'important' papers that need to be kept and actioned but you never quite manage to get there....

kensgirl · 06/08/2007 10:31

Its probabaly in the bin... if you are like me, that is. good luck with the tests tomorow. How long do you have to wait for the results?

nomoremagnolia · 06/08/2007 10:10

kensgirl awww that's so sweet of DH (and you for wearing tiara and shoes!)

I'm good this morning, although I've got a day 21 blood test tomorrow and have no idea where the form is, I has a tidy up before we went on holiday and now I can't find anything!

kensgirl · 06/08/2007 09:26

Lol, my dh didn't even know that my fertile time was so short! he thought it lasted a week...
It was our 1st anniversary yeserday, we had a lovelyday. We were at a edding the day before, and stayed overnight, where dh had arranged for champagne and a red rose to be in our room, and my card and present too, so I can't grumble .

I did spend part of yesterday wearing my tiara and wedding shoes though!

How are we all today?

mistlethrush · 04/08/2007 22:33

Men just don't get it the same way do they? How many of us is it then that find that dp/dh is 'keen' for three weeks and has a week off just at the wrong time? (Sorry, I think that this post should be elsewhere, but given current thread, sounds as though it's appropriate here too!) Not quite sure how we ended up with ds - Oh yes I do, we'd resigned ourselves to starting date with IVF so that the possibility of conceiving naturally didn't seem remotely possible....

nomoremagnolia · 04/08/2007 14:16

moan away, I'll be cashing in my 'listening ear' credits in a week or so when AF arrives

OP posts:
kensgirl · 04/08/2007 14:01

Glad you sorted things out BB. Sometimes you just get things out in the open, probably what dh has done. Hope you enjoy Harry Potter!

Nomore - thanks for listening! I am a moaning old boot these days .

nomoremagnolia · 04/08/2007 13:51

Glad you've had a chat with DH, it really helps you to put things in order when you try to explain it to someone else. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I'm off to tesco this afternoon too!

BabyBratt · 04/08/2007 13:27

Hi Nomore sorry to run off DH came home. He is sorry for telling everyone but apparently he just let everything go but he feels better.

I have let go to and had a good chat. I think I have to accept that my life is up and down and the moment

We go on holiday at the end of this month which is just a week in the sun but I cannot wait to just get away from everything.

I like MN because you don't feel so alone and understanding everything you are going through is normal.

I am off to Tesco now, how exciting is my life. I am going to watch Harry Potter tonight with my DH he is feeling delicate after last night.

Thanks ladies I hope you know how helpful your knowledge and understanding is.

nomoremagnolia · 04/08/2007 12:29

Hi kensgirl I just read your hut post too, hugs for you as well, you could just scream sometimes, couldn't you! Fate has a poor sense of humour sometimes.

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 04/08/2007 12:27

Just read your Hut post too, sorry you're feeling so down, it's horrible but I do know how you feel and it does get better. I think it's almost like a grieving process when you have to accept that ttc was not what you thought it would be (when we all believed that simply coming off the pill and bding was all that was needed) I know it's not what you want to hear right now but it will get better and you will come out the other side, it's just a dark time. Sorry if I'm waffling or repeating myself, I just wanted you to understand that I know how you feel and offer my support and some hugs too.

OP posts:
kensgirl · 04/08/2007 12:25

Hi Nomore! Just wanted to say hello. How are things for you?

BB - I get like that too.Dh had a similar temporary problem a couple of times with the stress of everything, and I reacted like a spurned hellcat. I felt awful after, when I realised that sometimes I don't want to either, but only do so because of ttc. I think it must be a ttc rite of passage.

nomoremagnolia · 04/08/2007 12:13

Hi BB
Sorry you're feeling stressed about ttc, it's really hard. I took a break from MN for a while when I found I was too obssesed with ttc that DH was suffering (and not in a good way!) You need to really sort things out in you head, esp with your business at the mo and your DH's friend dying. It's a stressful time if you're affected by just one of these things, so be kind to yourself as you're dealing with all three things at once. Feel free to chat here if it help, I'll be around for a while.
xx
