Hi everyone 👋

Can't see a May bus, so thought I'd start one up!

A little bit about me...

TTC: #1
Age: 28
Cycle: 5
CD: 5
AF/BFP due: 10th May

This cycle I'm making a real effort to take my pre-conception vitamins EVERY day and going to use Pre-seed this cycle too.

Come on in and share your stories, symptoms and if needed, vent to your heart's content... Grin

@MrsC89 snap! Due to ovulate Thursday and had a bit of a falling out with DH this evening. We never argue and it was over something really trivial. I'm wondering if it's the pressure of the FW!
Hopefully we'll kiss and makeup by tomorrow 😒

Welcome @Squiff70 so sorry for your loss, hope you're doing okay. Good luck!

@McHelenz Hope you and OH is doing okay, it's good you've had a chat this evening. We're here if you need to offload

x

@McHelenz I have no doubt you will. Keep going and be honest with each other.

McHelenz · 23/04/2019 20:51

@NLouise123 we've had a chat. This is one reason why he's not wanted to DTD. We've had a nice evening though and hopefully we'll make it through. We've done it before xx

MrsC89 · 23/04/2019 20:45

Ovulation is due either tomorrow or Thursday, had a bit of a falling out with the DH yesterday, but back to DTD today. I said to him I wanted to tell him when the most fertile days were, but he is feeling the pressure!

Squiff70 · 23/04/2019 20:45

Hi ladies, can I join the May bus please?

Age: 36
Cycle: 2
TTC: Number 3 (I lost twins in January at 19 weeks)
AF due: Any minute now
Ovulation date: somewhere around 6th May

Renault5 · 23/04/2019 20:27

@birdshavewings congratulations !! It does look like a BFP and reading your last post you are already a few days late for your AF and sore boobs !!!!

NLouise123 · 23/04/2019 20:11

@McHelenz Absolutely not. My OH suffers from elevated levels of anxiety and mood swings. Often they are worse when he doesn't share with me. As a result I often have to ask several times what is going on. Once he's shared, he feels better.

Savvysaz · 23/04/2019 18:49

@paddypaws91 Friday for lots of vino!! It’s meant to be May 20th now for hopefully I don’t see AF!

Paddypaws91 · 23/04/2019 18:21

Oh @Savvysaz noooo 😞 big hugs! I was really rooting for you. When is your BFP/AF due in May?

Really need to go back and re-read the whole thread I think! I feel like I need to create an excel spreadsheet to keep track of everyone's dates, although that sounds rather crazy written down.

Hope you're having a really nice dinner (perhaps a glass of vino?) tonight x

Thanks ladies I've not had notifications today for some reason.

Come home and OH has said he's requested a leave of absence from his course and has an appointment with the doctor about his mood. I'm scared for what that might mean for this but feel im being selfish if I question it. 😔.

Paddypaws91 · 23/04/2019 18:16

Oh my goodness @birdshavewings are you our first BFP on this thread? Huge congratulations!

A big fat welcome to everyone that has joined. Gonna grab a drink and have a catch up on this thread 🤓☕️

@paddypaws91 and AF rears her head this afternoon, day 3. I just just be having a bizarre cycle.

GreatestShowUnicorn · 23/04/2019 17:17

TTC : 2 (have a dd age 8 who was conceived first try!)
Cycle : 3
Age : 36
CD : 2
Period due 23/5

Novella12 · 23/04/2019 17:00

@mumofbun I think 6 months sounds sensible. I’ve been using them for 2/3 cycles and nothing so far so I wouldn’t say there’s a massive positive (at least not for me!)

MrsMck18 · 23/04/2019 15:36

@Renault5 I think first thing in the morning is key but you can also test in the evening so you make sure you don't miss your window.

Also if I test in the morning I need to go to work so won't be able to DTD until that evening. So I'm gonna test both times of day so I know before bed if the line is stronger

Renault5 · 23/04/2019 14:27

I just bough some cheap ovulation strip from super drug ! I am 11 cd so will see if I can figure out exactly when I ovulate ! what time of the day do you guys test ? How many times a day ? Hope you all have a nice Easter week end

Queenofmyownheart · 23/04/2019 13:42

Hopping on ladies!

TTC #3
Cycle no: no idea
Age :28
AF/BFP: 11th May

Had a really difficult time last month, was absolutely convinced I was heading for a BFP. Decided to try OPKs this month as I'm only tracking using flo and I'm starting to think it's not as accurate as I though.

mylittlebunny · 23/04/2019 13:13

Found this in my OPK. Thought some people might find it useful.

mumofbun · 23/04/2019 13:00

@limesoda @Novella12

That's definitely my personality type i just had no idea people did OPKs so regularly! I've just been tracking my cycle on Flo. I suffer from anxiety so i spend a lot of time working against that side of my personality especially as I think that can have a negative impact on ttc. The only person i ever knew to use them before i started reading these boards was someone whose cycles didn't go back to being regular after being on the pill! Like i said, i'm not against them i just think i will wait until about 6 months in with no luck before turning to them!

NLouise123 · 23/04/2019 12:48

If you all don't mind, can I hop on the May bus?

TTC: #1
Cycle: 1
Age: 26 (27 in July)
AF: 6/05/19

My first non pill cycle will be in May!
It's great reading all your experiences and lovely comments, seems like a really nice group to get to know and share with.

Novella12 · 23/04/2019 12:44

@mumofbun @limesoda I think you might be right about the personality type - I definitely enjoy the sense of control. I think the whole TTC thing is so random and can be tricky that it’s nice to feel like you’re doing something! But, as I said, I think I’m going to lay off this month and be a bit more chill. Hopefully that’ll make the 2WW more relaxing this time (it was horrendous last month, particularly as it was actually a 3WW with my late AF)

limesoda · 23/04/2019 11:49

@mumofbun I totally think the OPK thing might just be a personality type. It gives us a sense of control of the situation and that at least one element is going the way it should be.

I started them too late on cycle 1 and got a peak fertility on my first day, so used them from earlier in cycle 2 to check that things were all happening as they should (thankfully, they were). Its time to lay off them for a while, but if I'm still hanging around here in a few months/years , I could well return to them.

@birdshavewings everything crossed for you!

mumofbun · 23/04/2019 11:19

@novella12

Thanks for replying! I guess i'm lucky that i just went right back to them coming regularly after 6 years on the pill. Though, i did wonder if the first few weren't quite right as i didn't get the same cramping as i used to and am getting now! I gave myself 6 months to get back to normal before starting ttc properly though so hopefully all good!
