So I’m trying to conceive and have been since November. I sadly miscarried in Feb and had my first cycle last month. I’ve just ovulated or so I think...got a positive result on saturday and have been busy dtd quite a bit. I guess I’m 1dpo maybe 2. Fingers crossed this is our month. How is everyone else getting on?

How many DPO are you? I'm just trying to keep myself busy! I'm on CD10 now so wondering when I should start doing OPK tests, tomorrow? 🤔

Claire78564 · 11/04/2019 16:34

Any updates today ladies? Nothing new with me...just counting the days till AF X

It will happen so don't lose faith! I feel optimistic this morning (maybe because the sun is shining!) but also because I spoke to my sister on the phone for ages last night and talked to her about it all (I wasn't really planning on telling anyone we were TTC as I wanted it to be a surprise but then sometimes you just really need to talk to someone!) She made me feel much better, she has 3 kids now but she said after coming off pill it took her 18 months to conceive her first. She said 9 months of that they were properly trying. So it gives me hope that just because it hasn't happened in the first 8 months I just have to be patient. She also told me about some of her friends who struggled but got there in the end. Another friend had IVF and has wee girl now. So I guess there are always ways and means and the main thing is that we try and get on with our lives like normal (albeit constantly POAS!) and try and enjoy each day and enjoy the time being with your OH.
That sounds interesting - I will need to watch that. It is a bit mad when you actually think about it isn't it!

Claire78564 · 11/04/2019 00:07

Yeah...will see how I go.

I get what you both mean you do count the moments in the year where you think circumstances will be different. It’s so easy for people to say just let it come naturally but it’s hard not to take it seriously when you know it’s quite a long waiting game Tilly he next chance should this one not work. I keep thinking I will look back on this in 12 months either pregnant or with a little person I can cuddle. We have to try to be optimistic I suppose. I haven’t tried any of the other supplements. I took one evening primrose oil last month but after reading reviews about it prolonging cycles I freaked out and stopped. I know someone who has PCOS and going through ivf who took everything going and is now ten weeks. It must happen for us! Otherwise we wouldn’t be born with the parts! Dunno about you but I sometimes feel in shock about what axtually Happens. I watched the great sperm race on YouTube. It’s pretty crazy if you think about it x

@Claire78564 I guess things can vary slightly from month to month, for example sometimes I know AF is coming as I get bad cramps and then other months I have barely any pain. Guess it's just one of these things, our bodies messing with our brains!

RudyRoo · 10/04/2019 22:01

@Beddie11 yeah I think so but I would maybe do some research on it first just to be sure. I think the idea is that you're not supposed to be taking it if you actually fall pregnant which is why some women only take it for 2 weeks of cycle but then there from what I've read there are mixed opinions on this.
Tell me about it - I'm exactly the same. My DH and I have a holiday booked for May and earlier in the year I was secretly thinking to myself 'I'll totally be PG then' hmm perhaps not. Think I was totally nieve coming into this baby-making business!

Beddie11 · 10/04/2019 21:17

@rudyroo.. no i havent heard of it, thank you il have a look into it! I'll try anything to be fair lol. Can i just take it anytime then? As obviously i cant take it from AF to ovulation as i have no AF. Its just so hard when i look back and like in december when we started trying i was thinking about the events i had coming up in the year and i was thinking ooooh il be pregnant by then and now im passing by all these events and its just so hard knowing im nowhere near my BFP xx

Claire78564 · 10/04/2019 21:16

Just had a thought I’m about 3dpo but no painful boobs...im pretty sure I usually get this symptom straight after ovulation which tells me I ovulated. I tested with OPKs so know I ovulated this month but waiting for the boobs to kick in. Any ideas?

Haha men think we have all lost the plot! Hope you both have a good day x

@Beddie11 just wondering if you have considered taking Agnus Castus to try and get your cycle back to some normality? Someone suggested it to me so I've been taking it for a week or so. Think you're supposed to take it from AF to ovulation and stop after that, quite hard if you don't know exactly when you are ovulating though. Have heard some good stories from people taking these.

RudyRoo · 10/04/2019 09:50

I started fully crying last night when watching Friends - the one where Rachel has her baby. My DH kept asking me if I was okay thinking there was something seriously wrong with me. Oh dear! 😂

Claire78564 · 10/04/2019 08:09

Oh I know :( well I hope it works out 😊 I’m sure it will. Do any of you check your cervix? Mine always seems low... it’s not easy! X

Beddie11 · 09/04/2019 21:59

Yes no issues is a good sign, im hoping AF arrives before the next appointment fingers crossed! Yes its hard when everyone around seems to be pregnant! Its my first we are trying for yeah xxx

Claire78564 · 09/04/2019 21:32

Btw if it showed now issues then that’s a good sign. It’s only a matter of time 😊

Yeah it’s just so hard staying positive a friend recently found out she’s pregnant which feels ol but we will get there I guess. Yes TTC 1# excluding the miscsrriage and the month I got pregnant it’s my fourth cycle. I’m choosing to look at it as I caught after 2 months first time round hopefully it will be quick this time too. How about you?

OP posts:
Beddie11 · 09/04/2019 21:07

Im sure it will happen again for you, we just have to stay very positive! Ive been to the doctors once they took full blood tests which bought up no issues so im going again for a follow up just to see what the next step is. Is this your first time ttc? Xx

Claire78564 · 09/04/2019 20:37

Yeah I can imagine it’s tough because it’s the unknown. My friend stopped the pill in October and came on at the end of January. Sometimes it’s just a case of needing something to kick start your system and wake up your ovaries. go to the doctors and get some piece of mind. I’m sure it will work out. At the moment it feels like I’m never gonna get that BFP. And even if I do I will doubt whether it will work or not. Really thought it would be easier than this xx

Beddie11 · 09/04/2019 19:51

How long did it take for your friends to come? Im due at the doctors in about a months time.. it will be five month then so we shall see. Its just hard because i guess i just didnt expect this to happen, in my head i thought i know not many people conceive straight after coming off the pill but maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones! And then i dont even get a period never mind BFP lol.. so im quite disheartened at the minute xx

Claire78564 · 09/04/2019 19:24

@beddie11 that happened to a friend of mine she did get hers in the end. Also went to the doctors when I came off the pill because I’m abit of a worrier and wanted to see how things would go, they told me if you don’t get your period in 6 months then they could give you some meds to make it come. So don’t worry I’m sure it will all work out!

OP posts:
RudyRoo · 09/04/2019 19:24

@Beddie11 I feel ya! That is rubbish. Have you tried going to the GP?

Beddie11 · 09/04/2019 19:10

I stopped the pill in December, had my withdrawal bleed and then nothing since, so I am currently on day 100 and something of waiting for a period! Xxx

Claire78564 · 09/04/2019 18:54

Same to you lovey, yeah I read it helps circulation. It can’t do anything bad. Haha yes.. my OH keeps saying he wants one night off haha
